Hollywood's a real pretty town that's smack on top of all that black tar.

By the time you realize you're sinking, it's too late.

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void.

The key to being happy isn't the search for meaning.

It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense.

I feel like my whole life is just a series of loosely related, wacky misadventures.

I got into this business because I love stories.

They comfort us, they inspire us,

they create a context for how we experience the world.

You know, sometimes I feel like I was born with a leak.

And any goodness I started with just slowly spilled out of me

and now it's all gone.

Don't be sad. Good horsey.

When you look at someone through rose-colored glasses,

all the red flags just look like flags.

I could never figure out what love meant.

But right now, I don't need to figure out anything.

I just feel it.

You're the biggest asshole I know

and you're the only thing that makes sense to me.

It takes a long time to realize how truly miserable you are

and even longer to see that it doesn't have to be that way.

Only after you give up everything

can you begin to find a way to be happy.
