"carry away" and we actually got three meanings for carry away today. So let's

look at the first one. If someone gets carried , he or she becomes overly

enthusiastic and excited about something. So somebody could get carried away or

somebody could become carried away. So there are a couple of verbs we could use

with it. All right. So let's look at the first example here. Somebody might say

yeah, so like if we think that somebody gets carried away

we'll probably think that somebody's going a little too far or they're doing

a little too much of something usually because they are too excited about it or

too enthusiastic about it. So let's look at the first example. Don't get carried

away with too many decorations. This is just going to be a small party and get

together. So don't go crazy. Don't get carried away. Okay. Or the second one here.

Don't start talking about politics. John will get carried away and talk on and on

about it all night. So maybe John likes to talk about

politics. He's probably done this before and he has a tendency to get carried

away. He can't stop talking about it. So don't start. Don't start him off.

That's what they mean or otherwise he'll get carried away. Okay, The second meaning

of carried away here is to move someone or something physically from one place

to another. Very often, it's actually maybe by literally carrying them with

your hands or carrying it with your hands. So we say to carry something away. So

carry something from one place to another. All right. This is a simple one. So

we only have one example for this one. It took several people to carry him on a

stretcher off the field to an ambulance waiting outside. So this might be in a

sport. Maybe there was an injury and they had to carry the player away on a

stretcher. So this way and this way we can carry a person or a thing away. We

carry it from one place to another. Okay. And the third one here is

sometimes we use carry away actually means to steal something or

somebody stole something. So let's look at the number three. Number three we got,

we got two of them, two examples and both examples are a/b parts. So let's look at

the first one here. What happened to the watch I had on the table to sell. That's

what A says and B says I didn't sell it. Someone must have carried it away.

Meaning well somebody must have just took it. Somebody must have just stole it.

They just carried it away. Okay. And then the second one here.

I left my computer on the table and went to the bathroom. When I returned it was

gone. And of course B here says, you shouldn't have done that.

Like that was a stupid thing. Why'd you do that ? Someone probably just carried it

away. Somebody probably just took it . I's gone now. Not smart. You shouldn't have done
