how I tried to escape from the hospital

我從醫院逃跑的故事

Sounds kind of crazy, huh?

聽起來有點瘋狂吧?

The story happened all the way back at the time when I was a cute little boy

這個故事要回到我還是一個小男孩的時候

Probably about the age of eight or nine.

大概是八或九歲吧

I was visiting my grandma's house

我正在拜訪我啊罵

We had a fantastic time,

我們度過了一段歡樂的時光

but you know that's not what the story is about

但是你知道這跟今天主題不相關

And I guess that's enough of the background story for now.

而且故事背景敘述到這邊應該就夠了

So I headed to the shower after dinner

所以啊我就去洗澡了

I was singing happily just like a bird

我邊洗邊如小鳥一樣快樂的唱著歌

Didn't know what kind of disaster I'll be facing in no time

都還不知道甚麼可怕的災難將要來臨呢!

Everything was great until it actually happened.

直到事情發生之前，都還是那麼的美好的啊!

I turned off the water and wrapped myself in the towel

我把水龍頭關起來，把自己包在浴巾裡面

I walked out of the bathroom and I...

我走出浴室

I slipped

然後我滑倒了!!!!!!

I'm not sure what I was thinking about

我不確定我的天才頭腦在想甚麼

but I wrapped my whole body including the arms in the towel

但是我把我全身，連手都一起包在浴巾裡

So that's how and why the tragedy happened

所以悲劇就發生了

I fell hard on my chin

我重重的摔倒在我的下巴上面

because I literally had no hands to prevent it from happening

因為我根本沒有手來扶啊!

I did not cry because I sure was a brave kid.

我沒有哭因為我是個勇敢的小孩

So there were no tears involved

所以這個故事沒有淚水

But I started bleeding everywhere instead.

但是有很多血水

my uncle grabbed the car keys

我的叔叔抓了車鑰匙

And here we are at the ER.

然後我們就到了急診室

A nurse took us to the second floor

一個護士把我們帶到二樓

I overheard the doctor talking to my parents.

我聽到醫生和我爸媽在講話

While the wound was deep

因為傷口很深

It needs to be closed up to reduce the chance of infection

需要縫起來才能防止感染

and so the wound can start healing properly

傷口也才會癒合

and so I can stop bleeding

還有就是血也才會停止

So what they're going to do is to stitch the wound

所以他們的結論就是，縫起來!

"Hey, doctor, how bad was my son's wound?"

"醫生，我兒子的傷口如何啊?"

"to be honest, sir"

"說實話"

"It's a disaster, but don't you worry cuz you've got the finest surgeon in town"

"簡直是一場災難阿! 但是你們也不用擔心，因為你們有全鎮最好的手術醫生!"

"We're going to save him."

"我們會拯救他的!"

Oh

噢!

"Thank you doctor. But how are you going to do that?"

"謝謝你醫生，但是你要怎麼做呢?"

"All we have to do is use this huge needle thingy"

"我們需要做的就是用這跟超粗的針"

"Slowly yet painfully sew the flesh back together"

"緩慢又殘酷的把肉縫起來"

What! Sewing my chin with needles?

甚麼! 用針縫我的下巴!?

I have to do something!

我需要開始行動才行!

I can't just wait there like a lamb to be slaughtered!

我不能像一隻等待被宰殺的小綿羊

and here comes my chance

然後我的機會就來了

They're all discussing the issue,

他們都在談論問題

and no one was looking at me.

都沒有人在看我!!

I slowly backed up to the stairway

我偷偷倒退到樓梯口

I turned around and I started running

一轉身，我開始狂奔!!

I ran down the stairs and ran right out of the hospital.

我跑下樓梯，跑出醫院

I turned left and I kept running. men

我像左轉然後我我持續狂奔!

I was small, but I sure can run.

我雖然小但是很能跑啊!

"Hey stop"

"停下來!"

"Someone stop the kid."

"誰把那個小孩抓回來啊!"

I looked back and there's this whole crowd of people chasing after me.

我回頭一看，有一大群人正在後面追趕著我

It was insane

真是太瘋狂了你們!

There is the sound talking to me my brain

然後有一個聲音在我頭腦裡說著

"Run! Run for your life"

"為了你的生命，奔跑吧!"

So I kept running with the doctor is several nurses my parents my uncle, Teddy

所以我就繼續狂奔，後面追了醫生和幾個護士，還有我爸媽叔叔

chasing after me along the sidewalk.

沿著人行道一路追趕著我

I was tiny and they were gigantic

我這個小，他們這麼巨大

There's no way I could have really outrun them

逃跑的機會渺茫啊!

they eventually

所以他們最後

hunted me down after several blocks of chasing

在追趕了幾個路口後，還是把我捕捉回去了

and sent me right back to the hospital

然後把我送回手術室

and this time they had people

而且還讓人輪流

Guarding me the whole time.

24小時看守著我

So there's no way I could escape again

所以我再也沒機會逃跑了

So I had to make an agreement with them.

所以我只好和他們達成和平協議

So this is how it works

條約如下

The doctor needs to explain every single detail before each and every step he's going to do to me

醫生要跟我解釋他所要進行的每個細節

including what tool he's using

包含他將使用的工具是甚麼

how it works what it does and

功能是甚麼

What it's going to feel like when he's doing it

還有他在進行的時候我會感覺到甚麼

now when I think about it?

現在我回想起來

I really feel bad for the doctor who had to deal with all of these,

醫生要面對我這樣個死小孩真的是太可憐了

but hey, you can't blame me for that

但是你不能怪我啊

I was 8.

我才八歲欸

Just imagine me as Bambi.

你就想像我是小鹿斑比

I was scared. Okay?

我很害怕好嗎?

So the surgery was a huge success

最後手術大成功

and I had this forever scar left under my chin

我下巴也留下了永久的疤痕

Symbolizing my bravery of this journey.

象徵了我的勇敢

It's right under my chin. So no one can actually see it

他就在我下巴的下面，所以根本沒有人看得到

But it is there.

但是他真的在那邊喔

I know and now, you know

我知道，你現在也知道了

So this is going to be another little secret of ours

所以這就是我們的小祕密了喔

I failed to escape from the hospital,

我最終逃跑失敗

but I think it was the time when I turned into an actual adult

但是我想我就是從那時候開始變成大人的
