Unrequited love is a case when one person truly does love another person, especially in a romantic way. So, so we don't use this like usually with a family relationship. We usually use this about romantic relationships. But the other person does not reciprocate or truly give their love in return. You know when you reciprocate whatever somebody does to you, you do back to them. So they don't really give their love and return. So one person just loves the other person a lot. Okay. Let's go on. Unrequited by itself. So if you separated this word by itself , means not returned or repaid. So they're not returning the love. They're not repaying the love. The origin goes back to the 1500s and in fact was used with money to begin with. So I guess if you gave or you lent somebody money, they were supposed to return it back to you. I guess it could be an unrequited loan. I don't know but that's how it originally started. But now, nowadays it's mostly used for unrequited love. Okay. Unrequited love is a one-sided relationship. You may or may not have had sexual encounters with that person, Yeah. I mean it's possible you know, maybe that person is just kind of using you for a good time. But not really have really strong feelings of love for you. You know, and like I said maybe, maybe taking advantage of you or taking advantage of your feelings. That could be one-sided too. Or maybe you ...maybe you've never had you know, any sexual relations with that person too, but you still have that deep love for them. Both could be unrequited love. But either way it is clear the other person does not have the same deep feelings for you or for the person loves them. Okay. All right. Yeah. I remember this, this, this topic was talked a lot about in a movie that's it's over ten years old now. But well let's look at the note here. In a movie called "Holiday" Yeah. It was meant to be comedy. Kate Winslet and remember the actress that was also in the" Titanic" and I think Cameron Diaz was in this too. They trade each other's houses for a holiday. I don't know if that it works out very well in real life, but in the movie this is what they did. And of course a comedy and luckily in the end you know, like most comedies Kate Winslet does find real love with a guy and I think the actor Jack Black played the character. But he does give love and return. But at the whole beginning of the movie It's about her other relationship where you know , she loved this guy for, for years and it's really a case of unrequited love. But anyway, her character in the movie had this quote and here's the quote here. "Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other what about the rest of us ? What about our stories ? Those who fall in love alone. " So that kind of says it all. When you're talking about unrequited love. Okay. And just a couple of examples that we, the way you might hear it used. Don't get trapped in a relationship of unrequited love. It will only break your heart. Or you know lead to a heartache or something like that. Or the second one here. That article lists all the signs of unrequited love. Yeah. If you start looking up unrequited love you know, online or something like that. You know, just like there's a lot of magazines that say you know these are, these are the clear signs that you're in this type of relationship. Or you know unrequited love. So that's just the way you may see it used. Anyway I hope you got it. I hope it is informative. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
