字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Idioms 186. The idiom today is love at first sight. Okay. Let's take a look at the note here. This idiom literally means just what it expresses. The idea that two people could have an instant attraction and immediately fall in love. It is mostly used about two people, but could sometimes be used about things as well. Okay. So let's take a look at the first example here. The first time I laid eyes on my wife, it was love at first sight. I knew she was the one for me. Yeah. So you sometimes you hear people say this. You know, the first time they laid eyes on their wife or their husband that was the person I was meant to marry. You often hear that used in this way. When you say it's love at first sight. Okay. Let's look at example number two. Yeah . Sometimes you hear people kind of laughing at it, or mocking it too. So sometimes you might hear an example like this. There is no such thing as love at first sight. That is just nonsense. There may be lust at first sight, but not real love. Okay. Yeah. A lot of people will jokingly say that, or maybe they'll say love at first sight, that's only in the movies. You know, that's that's another one that you often hear. All right and let's look at number three. When I saw that sports car in the showroom, it was love at first sight. I knew I had to buy it. All right. So the last example is one where it's not people. It could be things. So sometimes we could use it that way as well. All right. Good. Anyway, I hope you got it. I hope it's clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
