My name's Scott House. I am the technical coordinator for print
and type and I also run the print finishing room. This workshop is a print
finishing workshop so anything that a student may print they can bring to this
room and turn it into the finished article. That can be anything from a
business card to a magazine to a book. I believe our statement is to show
students how things are done in industry but understand students aren't making
5000 books, they're making two, so show them how to do it by hand so they can
complete it with us, then again on their own if they need to at a later date. I would
recommend London College of Communication to prospective students. I think the main
reason is that you can actually make things. It's very much a hands-on college,
the processes that you can learn here from letterpress, book arts, from finishing
and various other types of printing is a unique feature. Whereas other colleges
might have one or two of those that are accessible to students, here it's encouraged
whatever course you are to physically make an object and I think that is the best
thing about London College of Communication.
