You know, I'm feeling a bit tired from my busy schedule,

哎呀，今天滿滿的行程讓我有點累了

so today I just want to play it by ear.

接下來的片語時間就讓我們隨機應變吧

We use the phrase "play it by ear" when we want to do something

當我們想做某件事情但沒有特別規劃時

without special attention to preparation or planning.

這時 "play it by ear" 就派上用場啦

Here's another example. If someone asks me:

舉例來說，假如有人問我

"Hey, Don. Where are you going on your vacation?"

Hey Don, 你這個假期打算怎麼過？

"I'm going to meet a friend in Bangkok,

我會去曼谷和我朋友見面

and then we're just going to play it by ear."

之後再說囉！

"play it by ear" is also a common response to the very common question:

大家也常會在以下的場合使用 "play it by ear"

"What are you going to do this weekend?"

你這個週末要做些什麼呢？

"I'm not sure. I think I'm just gonna play it by ear."

我還不確定耶，再看看囉

So in other words,

所以說囉

this is a very handy phrase when you feel like doing something,

當我們想做某件事情但又不想特別規劃的時候

but you're not quite sure what.

直接使用 "play it by ear" 就沒錯啦！
