  • (dreamy upbeat music)

  • - What's up YouTube?

  • Nice to see you again.

  • Thanks for joining me on my channel.

  • Today as per your request, I suggested that I put up

  • a false cut tutorial.

  • It's a three packet, false cut.

  • I call it Faux, which is French for false.

  • Get it?

  • Yeah, I'm clever.

  • So I'll be teaching this and stay tuned to the end

  • where I will be giving a little bit of a bonus false cut

  • which is really really simple to do,

  • and it's two packets.

  • Just a fun little thing I do when I fidget with cards

  • but I'm sure you guys will get some mileage out of it.

  • So stay tuned, stick around,

  • thanks again for joining in, and I hope you enjoy it.

  • Leave your comments below what you thought of it

  • and what you guys would like to learn next,

  • and I will try my best to do so.

  • Thanks again.

  • All right, for this tutorial I'm going to be using

  • the Bee Black Diamond playing cards.

  • I really like the design of these cards.

  • They're available on coterie1902.com, I believe.

  • All right, let's get into this tutorial already.

  • The first thing you're going to do is

  • this little thing.

  • So this is, I don't know if it's a swivel cut,

  • I guess it's a swivel cut or a pivot cut, one of the two.

  • That's going to be the first move.

  • So all you're going to do here is grab it

  • in like this sort of Biddle grip, this edge grip.

  • Index and middle finger.

  • Thumb back here.

  • You're going to peel off maybe less than a half up to a half

  • of the cards, all right.

  • Once you've done that, your index finger over here

  • is going to contact this corner,

  • and is going to pivot it around.

  • So if you can do this,

  • you'll be set for the next move.

  • Lift, pivot, here.

  • Falls.

  • But you're not going to let it fall.

  • What you're going to do is after you pivot,

  • your thumb is going to grab the back here

  • and split this once again.

  • All right.

  • You're here, and your thumb is going to grab this.

  • Now automatically what you're going to want to do

  • is go this way,

  • little scissors.

  • You're going to go here,

  • this is where it gets a little bit tricky.

  • The corner here is going to contact the corner of the deck.

  • All right, so this is the action basically.

  • That's what's going to happen in that hand.

  • I'll show you again.

  • Pivot, break,

  • and see how my index automatically wants to go this way?

  • This index here goes this way?

  • The corner of the packet that I'm holding

  • between my thumb and middle finger

  • is going to be pinched by the index here.

  • So once it's pinched by the index here,

  • you can let go of everything.

  • Once you release a little bit of pressure here

  • at the index, that's going to want to come down

  • and contact your thumb.

  • Meanwhile this hand you're just wanting to go

  • into Mechanic's Grip.

  • Now as you're here, your ring finger is primed to grab

  • to touch the top portion of this, right?

  • So again, up here,

  • break off,

  • all right?

  • If you look at here, my finger's still touching

  • and it's going to pinch there

  • as this goes down there.

  • Ring finger is basically, it's leaning on the ring finger,

  • index goes under because what's going to happen

  • is it's going to fall on the index,

  • your curled index just like so.

  • You're then going to push with your index,

  • going to flop over your thumb into your hand,

  • and then you're going to close up.

  • So fairly simple.

  • Once again,

  • swivel,

  • break off,

  • pinch, drop,

  • drop,

  • and drop.

  • Once again,

  • drop, and this drops into that hand directly.

  • All you're doing here to close it up

  • is your thumb is going to contact here,

  • your middle finger is going to remain there,

  • and you're just going to bring it to the back of the pack.

  • All right, that's fairly simple.

  • Open, pinch,

  • over here,

  • and once your thumb's here, you're just going to do this.

  • So you're holding this here in

  • a Straddle Grip.

  • Your thumb and middle finger are going

  • to rotate the cards to behind.

  • So quicker, this is what it looks like.

  • And that, my friends, is a completely false cut.

  • I hope you enjoyed that.

  • I don't think there's any point in going more detail.

  • It's pretty simple.

  • This is going to be the little beginner cut

  • which is false,

  • which I don't even know if it consists as a false cut,

  • but it is a false cut,

  • and it's just fun to do once you have cards in your hand,

  • so it looks like this.

  • So it's one of those closers that a lot of people use

  • for their flourishes, including myself.

  • I just find doing this a lot,

  • and it is false.

  • So all you're doing is you're taking the bottom packet,

  • you're rotating it around,

  • and you're putting it right back on the bottom.

  • But when done quickly,

  • you have to imagine for lay people, it's really hard

  • to understand what's going on.

  • As soon as they see packets being separated,

  • to them, the deck is being cut.

  • As soon as it's separated, they lose

  • all notion of what the heck is going on.

  • You're doing a swing cut.

  • So same two fingers,

  • same grip as the last one.

  • You're going to swing cut into here,

  • which is, swing cut, you grab with this meaty part.

  • The middle finger and thumb are going

  • to use the deck as a pivot,

  • came around,

  • you're going to regrip,

  • and it's going to rotate around your thumb, just like that.

  • Meanwhile, this hand is going to kick out this packet, okay?

  • So it goes like this.

  • It rotates around the thumb, see how I'm holding this here,

  • and this gets kicked out into this hand,

  • which is then flopped back on top.

  • Just a fun thing to do.

  • And if you're ever walking around in a strolling environment

  • or just messing with your cards,

  • and to the audience, it kind of just looks like

  • you're just cutting the cards,

  • but you're actually not cutting anything at all.

  • It's an illusion.

  • What the hell is that?

  • Get out of here.

  • All right guys.

  • Thanks so much for tuning in.

  • I hope you enjoyed that,

  • and I enjoyed teaching it.

  • Let me know in the comments what you think

  • and what type of video you guys want next.

  • You want like a street magic performance video?

  • Do you want like some cool visuals,

  • or do you want another tutorial?

  • Whatever it is, it's up to you.

  • Hit me up, don't forget to subscribe,

  • like, comment, and share this video with your friends

  • so they can learn this cool cut as well.

  • Thanks for tuning in,

  • and we'll see you next time.

  • Peace out.
