I remember Him.

我想到關於他的一切

I gaze upon them before I part.

我在離開前看了他們幾眼

They lie in their bed, unaware of me watching.

他們躺在床上 不知道我正在看著他們

I leave,

我離開了

they sleep.

他們繼續在睡覺

The small home I help provide is their world.

我付出心力打造的小家就是他們的世界

They play, they explore,

他們在這裡玩爽 在這裡探索

learning to move, to feel,

學習移動 學習去感受

to see, to know,

學習去看 學習去了解

not once thinking how it all came to be.

而不是狹隘的思考這世界的一切

Crayons, toys, books; it's all for them.

蠟筆也好 玩具也好 書也好 都是給他們的

The fridge opens, the pantry exposed,

打開了冰箱 揭開了食品儲藏室

they expect food to be there.

他們期待食物會等在那

Not a thought, not a doubt,

無庸置疑 他們也不曾想過

just hunger.

反正餓了就自然會有食物可以吃

Cereal, milk, yogurt, messy fingers, messy faces, all fed.

麥片 牛奶 優格 手跟臉都髒兮兮的 全吃飽了

Tummies are full.

肚子吃飽了

Now it's nap time.

就是他們睡午覺的時候

My wife likes nap time.

我老婆很喜歡這種午覺時光

Once again, they lay in the comfort we provide.

如往般的 他們安逸沉睡在我們溫柔的照顧之下

All while I work,

當在我工作的時候

I'm far, but close;

我和他們的距離很遙遠 卻很靠近

always thinking of them.

可以常常想著他們

My phone rings, I only hear breathing.

我的電話響起時 可以聽見了他們的呼吸聲

I smile; my wife's phone is now missing.

這時候我會莞爾一笑 因為我老婆的手機現在鐵定是不見了

I do it all for them.

我為他們付出一切

I work, that they may grow.

我努力工作 他們也會長大

They trust so deeply;

他們深深地相信

how I yearn to do the same.

我對一成不變的渴望

They see so little of how it all came to be,

但他們從來沒有認真想過這一切是怎麼回事

never questioning,

也從來不曾想過

only trusting.

就只是相信著

I come home; two-second hugs.

當我回到家 就會擁抱兩秒鐘

Now I'm a horse.

現在我就像一匹馬

We eat dinner, brush teeth.

我們一起吃晚餐 一起刷牙

Jammy time.

睡衣時間

Finally, it's bed time.

終於 睡覺時間到了

Once again, they lay their heads on the pillows we provide.

再一次的 他們躺在我給他們的枕頭上

I will be their protector. I will be their gentle friend.

我是他們的守護者 我是他們的知心朋友

I will be my wife's faithful husband.

我是我太太忠誠的丈夫

I am a father,

我是一位父親

I am also a son.

卻也像個孩子

And while I may not understand all that He does for me,

現在我開始了解「他」為我做的一切

I do know that all that I am, and all that I have is because He's a father to me.

我終於知道我是誰 以及我所擁有的一切 都是因為他是我的父親

I now stand, very aware,

我現在站在此 非常清楚

of how it all came to be.
