with less stress, less hustle,
以較少的壓力,較少的喧囂。
and fewer of those damn headaches.
也少了那些該死的頭疼。
Very common, if not slightly misguided question,
非常常見,如果不是 稍有誤導的問題。
how to practise English speaking alone?
如何單獨練習英語口語?
Now, the misconception here is that you are
現在,錯誤的觀念 這裡就是你是
somehow at a disadvantage if you don't have
吃虧 如果你沒有
people around you to practise speaking English with.
身邊人 英語口語:
But really that's not true at all
但其實根本不是這樣的
and indeed these four ideas
而事實上這四個想法
that I'm gonna share with you in today's video
我要分享的 在今天的視頻中,與您一起
can and should also be used by people
也可以而且應該被人們使用
who do use English in day to day life,
在日常生活中使用英語的人。
whether it's in business or because you live
無論在商言商 還是因為你住
in an English speaking country, whatever.
在一個英語國家,無論。
These things I'm gonna share with you today,
這些東西我要去 今天就和大家分享一下。
you should be doing them at regular intervals
你應該做的 定期
throughout the day by yourself anyway.
整天自己反正。
Okay, that out of the way, four ways
好了,說完了,四條路。
to practise speaking English alone.
練習單獨說英語。
The first is quite simply shadowing.
第一個是很簡單的影子。
Shadowing is a brilliant exercise for building
影子是一個輝煌的 鍛鍊
what I call the physical aspect of fluency.
所謂物理 流利性方面。
It's not a creative conversation practise,
這不是一種創造性的對話實踐。
technique, exercise, whatever it is
技巧,練習,無論它是
you want to call it.
你想叫它。
It's not gonna help you to speak English
這對你說英語沒有任何幫助。
quickly on the fly in conversation
信手拈來
with a group of people bent to going
與一群一心想走的人
back and forth and all that stuff.
來來回回,所有的東西。
Shadowing is gonna help you to get
影子會幫助你獲得
your mouth moving as it should.
你的嘴在動,因為它應該。
It's gonna help you to train those muscles
它可以幫助你訓練這些肌肉。
to move in the way that they should be moving
順勢 應運而生
when you speak English.
當你說英語的時候。
It's gonna get you noticing the rhythm,
這會讓你注意到節奏。
the intonation, the tone of English,
英語的語調、語氣。
where we put the pauses, the gaps
我們把停頓、空白放在哪裡?
between chunks and phrases and words,
塊和短語和單詞之間。
where we speed up for effect,
在這裡,我們加快了效果。
where we slow down to emphasise a point.
在這裡,我們放慢速度來強調一個觀點。
Shadowing is all about getting yourself attuned
影子就是要 契合
to those rhythms and the sounds of English.
對這些節奏和 英語的聲音。
Number two, quite simply talk to yourself.
第二,很簡單的和自己說話。
My grandmother always used to say
我奶奶經常說
that talking to yourself
自言自語
is the first sign of madness.
是瘋狂的第一個信號。
Well, my grandmother was as crazy as they come
嗯,我奶奶是 喪心病狂
so I guess it takes one to know one.
所以我想這需要一個人去了解一個人。
But don't worry, we're not talking about having
但別擔心,我們 不是說有
full-on conversations with yourself
盡情地與自己對話
looking like some kind of crazy person.
看起來就像某種瘋狂的人。
No, we're simply talking about practising
不,我們只是在說練功而已
saying the language that you've already
說著你已經
inputted into your head, assuming
輸入到你的大腦中,假設
that you've done the learning stage right.
你已經做好了學習階段的工作。
And remember, to get good at speaking English

constant repetitive learning
屢教不改
with constant repetitive practise.
通過不斷的反覆練習。
Input, output, repeat.
輸入,輸出,重複。
Assuming that you've done the input stage right,
假設你已經完成了 輸入階段的權利。
you should already have lots of bits of English
你應該已經 滿口英文
in your noggin ready to go.
在你的腦海裡準備好了。
You just need to get good at saying.
你只需要好好說。

好吧,整天練習
saying those things.
說這些話。

and pronouncing those phrases, expressions,
和讀出這些 短語、表情。
chunks, whatever it is that they are.
塊,不管它們是什麼。
For example.
例如:
In next week's Extraordinary English Speakers lesson,
在下週的《非凡》中 英語口語課。
we see the phrase never heard of it
聞所未聞
that means quite simply you have no knowledge
意思很簡單 孤陋寡聞
of a certain thing that someone is talking about.
某種 有人在說。
Practise saying that at regular intervals
定期練習說
throughout the day.
整天。
Never heard of it.
從來沒有聽說過。

You want to get to the point
你想進入正題
where when you say never,
在哪裡,當你說從來沒有。
heard of it just flows out from that.
聽說就是從那裡流出來的。
So, where you're not thinking
所以,在你沒有想到的地方
about each individual word
個別字
and putting it together like that.
並把它放在一起這樣。
Also, practise saying in different ways
同時,練習用不同的方式說
to give it different emotions, different meanings.
賦予其不同 情感,不同的意義。
Say it as if you were really irritated.
說得好像你真的很生氣一樣。
Huh?
咦?
Never heard of it.
從來沒有聽說過。
Say it as if you were intrigued.
說得好像你很感興趣似的。

It's exciting.
這很令人興奮。
You get goosebumps and you're like, "Yeah!
