There were so many different types of goose dishes!

When you visit Xiaying, Tainan,

到了臺南下營

you must know about the three treasures:

你一定要知道的下營三寶

goose meat, black beans, and silk.

就是鵝肉 黑豆跟蠶絲

I know what silk is.

蠶絲我知道

It's a material for bed quilts.

可以做成棉被

But what are black beans?

但是黑豆是什麼呢

Black beans are a type of soybean with a black color.

黑豆是一種外觀呈現黑色的豆類

Just like soybeans, they are an ingredient for soy sauce.

跟黃豆一樣可以作為釀造原料

Soy sauce made from black beans is called black bean sauce

黑豆釀造出來的醬油稱作蔭油

which tastes different from traditional soy sauce.

風味和一般的醬油不同

and is a specialty from Xiaying.

是下營的特產喔

This makes my mouth water.

我聽得都快流口水了

Goose meat and black bean sauce.

鵝肉加上蔭油

Wow.

哇喔

Besides,

而且呀

there are many fun places to visit in Xiaying,

下營還有很多好玩的地方呢

such as Shangdi Temple,

例如玄天上帝廟

which has a history of over 300 years.

有三百多年歷史

There is also a memorial park dedicated to local artist Yen Shui-long.

另外還有畫家顏水龍先生的紀念園區

It seems Xiaying is not only rich of abundant commodities,

but also home to numerous talented people.

It features Oh-Dou-Ah, an animation character of a black bean,

which looks cute in various costumes and accessories.

What is the best way to experience

請問遊山海圳綠道

or enjoy this the Shanhai Canal Greenway?

最好的方式是什麼呢

First, let me introduce you the Shanhai Canal Greenway.

首先 我先介紹一下山海圳綠道

It is a cycling path

它的上游是從烏山頭水庫開始

built along Chianan Canalestablished by Yoichi Hatta,

沿著八田與一工程師所興建的嘉南大圳

and starting from Wushantou Reservoir.

所修築的一條自行車道

The Shanhai Canal Greenway is about 45 kilometers in length.

山海圳綠道全長約45公里

It's not only a historical and cultural sight,

不只包含了歷史文化景點

but also a river ecosystem.

也有河川生態

About 15 kilometers of the greenway is situated in Annan District.

安南區境內約15公里

It's designated the bike lane

全線與汽機車分道使用

to ensure the safety of cyclists.

確保騎乘安全

The greenway starts from a Chinese tallow tree tunnel

安南區起點 可由臺灣歷史博物館兩側

around the National Museum of Taiwan History.

種滿烏臼樹的林蔭綠道開始

Trees such as Sea hibiscus, Madagascar almond,

沿路種植有黃槿 小葉欖仁

Indian almond, and Chinaberry can be found along the greenway,

大葉欖仁 紫楝等

and they provide shades for cyclists.

為遊客們提供了濃密的樹蔭遮蔽

In fact, one of the best thing about here is that,

when you come here to the Shanhai Canal Greenway ,

you don't even have to bring your own bicycle,

you can just rent the T-bike, and you can be on your way.

When it comes to salt fields,

Cigu or Jingzaijiao may come to your mind.

很多人會想到七股或是井仔腳

In fact, there's a salt field eco-culture village in Annan District.

其實在安南區也有鹽田-鹽田生態文化村

So, what's the best way to visit this wonderful place?

Here, you may experience activities related to salt

來我們這邊可以體驗鹽田

and also understand the process of how salt is made.

然後了解 鹽的製作過程

In addition to having a try on washing salt field,

tourists can visit some of the historical architectures

還可以參觀附近鹽業文化

Hsuan-hui, we are standing by a crystallization pond

軒慧 我們現在站的位置是

in a tile-paved salt field.

瓦盤鹽田地結晶池

This pond is called iăm-gēh-à in Hokklo.

臺語叫「鹽格仔」

Now they are washing the iăm-gēh-à (Hokklo).

他們現在正在洗「鹽格仔」

The salt evaporation pond has to be washed every time

每曬一次鹽

a pile salt is harvested

就要洗一次結晶池

so that there will be no impurities in the salt.

這樣曬出來的鹽才會乾淨喔

This circle next to the crystallization pond is a brine storage pond

結晶池旁的這個（圓圈）是續滷池

called ĭn-gon-à in Hokklo.

臺語叫「圓缸仔」

So you see, this kind of work really depends a lot on the weather.

由此可見 這樣的工作真的是靠天吃飯

And you see, when it rains, the salt will be gone.

一旦下雨時 鹽就會被水沖走

But the ancestors had a very good solution to it.

不過我們的祖先想出了很好的解決辦法

You see,

here right behind me!

在我身後的這塊地

When it rains,

下雨時

they can put all dried salt in it again,

他們會把所有已曬乾的鹽移到那裡

so that the dried salt would not be gone.

這樣一來 曬乾的鹽就不會被水沖走了

Hsuan-hui, let's go try shoving and picking salt!

軒慧 我現在帶你去體驗推鹽跟收鹽

Now, I've changed my rain boots,

現在我換上了雨鞋

and now we're going to try to shove salt.

Wow, it really takes a lot of hard work.

After shoving just a few minutes,

光是推這短短幾分鐘

The salt filed eco-culture village

這裡的鹽田文化館

displays many daily necessities you would find in early salt villages.

也展示許多早期鹽村的生活用品喔

So here at Anshun Salt Factory,

在安順鹽廠

you can really learn a lot about salt culture.

你能夠學到許多與鹽相關的歷史文化

And what's more important is

更重要的是

to experience how to make salt and how to dry them up.

體驗鹽的製作過程

We're now here at Luermen,

現在我們來到了鹿耳門

and this is where the entry point was in the past.

這個地方在過去

When people want to enter Taiwan or exit Taiwan,

是進出臺灣的出入口

they can park their ships over here in this harbor.

人們可以把船停在這個港口

Here, a lot of business people would do some trading.

在這裡許多生意人會從事買賣交易

Like they would import stuff into Taiwan.

例如進口商品到臺灣

Or they can export some Taiwanese stuff to foreign countries.

或者出口臺灣的商品到國外去

And this is why a lot of people call here,

也因此很多人會稱

Luermen, as the door of Taiwan.

鹿耳門為臺灣之門

There is a path along the Luermen River.

沿著鹿耳門溪有一整排的步道

It's a good place to take a walk

很適合來這裡散步

and enjoy sea breeze.

Before we enter the temple,

就像是帶著媽祖的庇佑回去

And these two generals are like the helpers of Matzu.

They will help to see if someone is doing something bad.

Could you please briefly introduce Luermen Shengmu Temple?

可以請您簡單介紹一下鹿耳門聖母廟嗎

Luermen Shengmu Temple is the largest temple of all among Southeast Asia.

聖母廟是東南亞最大的廟宇

The statues of deity Qianliyan and Shunfeng'er

門口的千里眼與順風耳

are about 17 meters in height.

高度大約有十七米

It's impressive.

非常壯觀

Luermen Shengmu Temple worships not only Matzu,

聖母廟不只信奉媽祖

but also the Wufuqiansui (the Plague Gods), Guanyin, and Yueh-lao!

還有五府千歲 觀音菩薩和月下老人喔

There's also a Yueh-lao Temple where people can ask

這裡也有月老廟可以諮詢

for love and romantic questions.

愛情相關的問題

So that the God could bless them with a better relationship with others.

如此一來月老就能保佑人們感情順利

The annual firework display

當然一年一度的煙火秀

is an important event.

也是非常重要的活動

The firework display is impressive
