In this lesson, you're going to learn how to ask what someone's hobbies are - without using the word hobbies!

在這堂課裡，你會學到怎麼不用到「嗜好」這個字來詢問別人的嗜好！

You've probably seen the question, "Do you have any hobbies?", or "What are your hobbies?" in an English textbook before.

你可能看過這些問句，「你有沒有嗜好呢？」或是「你的嗜好是什麼呢？」出現在英文課本裡。

However, native English speakers almost never use the word "hobbies" when asking about them!

然而，以英文為母語的人在問嗜好的時候幾乎不會用到「嗜好」這個字。

A much more natural way to ask the same question is: "What do you do for fun?"

一個更自然的問法是「你都做什麼當娛樂呢？」

Let's practice this question.

我們來練習這個問句。

"What do you do for fun?"

「你都做什麼當娛樂呢？」

"What do you do for fun?"

「你都做什麼當娛樂呢？」

You can also ask: "What do you do in your free time?"

你也可以問「你閒暇之餘都做什麼呢？」

"What do you do in your free time?"

「你閒暇之餘都做什麼呢？」

So how would you answer this question? Let's look at how native speakers would do it!

那該如何回答這個問題呢？我們來看看母語使用者會怎麼說！

The easiest way is to say: "I like to..." or just "I like..." followed by what you like to do.

最簡單的方法是說：「我喜歡做 ... 」或就說「我喜歡」接著接上你的興趣。

For example, if you like watching movies, you could say: "I like to watch movies." or "I like watching movies."

舉例來說，如果你喜愛看電影，你可以說「我喜歡去看電影。」或是「我喜歡看電影。」

"I like to watch movies." or "I like watching movies."

「我喜歡去看電影。」或是「我喜歡看電影。」

And if you like golf, you could say: "I like to play golf" or "I like playing golf."

如果你喜歡打高爾夫，你可以說：「我喜歡去打高爾夫。」或是「我喜歡打高爾夫。」

"I like to play golf" or "I like playing golf."

「我喜歡去打高爾夫。」或是「我喜歡打高爾夫。」

You can emphasize how much you like your hobby by adding a word like "really" in front of "like".

你可以在「喜歡」前加上一個「非常」來強調你多麼喜歡那個嗜好。

For example: "I really like watching movies."

舉個例子：「我非常喜歡看電影。」

On the other hand, if you want to play down how much you like something, you can say "kind of".

另一方面，如果你想要表示沒那麼喜歡某件事，你可以說「有點」。

For example: "I kind of like playing tennis."

舉個例子：「我有點喜歡打網球。」

If you don't have any special hobbies, or don't want to be specific, a good way to reply is: "I like hanging out with my friends, and stuff like that."

如果你沒有什麼嗜好，或是不想要講明白一個好用的回答是：「我喜歡和朋友們出去玩，之類的。」

"I like hanging out with my friends, and stuff like that."

「我喜歡和朋友們出去玩，之類的。」

Just use "I like..." and add "hanging out with my friends" and then add "and stuff like that."

就用「我喜歡 ... 」然後加上「和朋友們出去」，再加上 「之類的」

How do you answer the question: Where you from? It doesn't even have a verb!

你該如何回答：「你哪來的」？這句話連動詞都沒有呢！
