If there's a gap where you are today and where you want to be, that's where I come into play. (intro music) Hi, Theresa Nordstrom with NordstromTalent.com Through my goal of finding out where you want to be, I have to ask lots of questions. I gotta get to know what's important to you, what your talents are, before I can really make a recommendation to you on what the perfect role is. I'm a former HR leader in many different industries, in large companies and small companies. I turned recruiter because I found that I have a really deep passion for helping people and individuals maximize their talents and finding leaders in companies that value it. That is very very key. A leader and the culture will make or break your career. That is one of the things that I focus on in recruiting. Why do I emphasize leaders? I gravitate towards leaders that love to hire for talent, they grow talent, they have high bars, and they challenge the status quo. That's the typical kind of client that I work with. Similarly so, those are the type of candidates that I prefer to work with. So A-players really match up with clients that have really high bars. The clients that I work with have two different themes. One, is they have really high talent bars, and they don't settle. When you go in to work with one of my companies that I recruit for, you're working with A-players, and we all know what it's like to play on a team, or work with others that have really high bars. We perform at a higher level. The second component that I really look for in clients, is that they have a history of developing talent. Being a former HR leader, that's very very important to me. Typically, I gravitate to those leaders and cultures that are known for hiring what I call finance and accounting athletes. You higher them into one role, but the intent is not for them to stay in that role. Their intent is to move out, move into different business roles, and really build them a financial and accounting athlete. So to say how do I do this? How do I know for sure if they have these cultures? One, I like to get to know my clients, and I work with those clients that allow me in their business to be honest with you, and allow me to ask questions, work with the hiring leaders. That's coming from a former HR leader, that sometimes HR professionals do not want us in their business. Well, if you want to hire A-players, many times we need to work with your leaders, so that we can really share the story and share the culture, and sell that opportunity, because we all know that the market is really tough. That's the difference with me. I will be able to usually share more about the client than most companies. I really like to get testimonials and examples. I'm a big believer in past behavior predicts future. My clients, I'll be asking them, who's ruled out of audit? What type of roles have you filled in the future, and now where are those people? Those are the type of examples and things that I would share with you if I was recruiting you. At the end of the day, like I mentioned in the beginning, my goal is coach first, recruiter second. I want to help you figure out how to maximize the talents that you have, and really be happy in your career, your professional, your personal life. Stay in touch with me. I will continue to do videos. I am not your typical recruiter, and you will not see me send the boring job description, the things of that nature. I'm going to give you the real skinny on role. Click below, sign up with me on the different social media channels. I look forward to learning more about you and your career and where you want to go in the future.
