  • Hey guys!

大家!

  • Today were giving you another positive thought in continue with last week’s “ The Power of GENTLENESS.”

  • So hear it out!

  • People who polish their hearts and actions don’t bring pain to others.

  • They don’t inflict pain on themselves as well.

  • And that’s a fact!

  • Imagine youve married the perfect Mr. or Ms. Right.

  • And you get to live with him or her for the rest of your life.

  • Like Shrek and Fiona!

  • Happily ever after.

  • On the contrary, if youve married the perfect Mr. Wrong or Ms. Wong.

  • Bad-tempered, lazy, emotional, negative.

  • Well, welcome to agony for the rest of your life.

  • So your personality is that spouse.

  • It follows you day and night, wherever you go,

  • even when you get up in the middle of the night just to take a leak.

  • Um, we don’t have to see that.

  • And most important of all,

  • you can’t divorce it!

  • No!

  • So having a gentle heart is like having a 24-7, always there for you friend.

  • Come on! I know you can do it!

  • Yes! Youre the man! Keep that chin up high!

  • Having an unpolished heart, on the other hand, is kind of like

  • Man look at you! Youre a piece of junk you know!

  • Would you just shut up!

  • So now you think youre somebody! You yell out me!

  • You get the idea!

  • Last week we talked about the power of having a gentle heart.

  • How gentle hearts change, shape, and bring impact to the world.

  • Today were gonna get practical and see HOW

  • HOW

  • HOW we can achieve that.

  • Making our hearts as soft as skin, as smooth and gentle as water.

  • First of all, no one can polish your heart for you. YOU have to put in the effort yourself.

  • Second, it’s not a one-time, once-and-for-all task.

  • You have to do it with intention every single day of your life.

  • Rome wasn’t built in one day, right?

  • Your current personality wasn’t built in one day either.

  • So it makes sense that itll take you the equivalent time or even more time to reshape it.

  • So number one

  • you have to get started with what it’s made up of.

  • THOUGHTS

    想法

  • It’s easy to get carried away with what’s going on in our minds.

  • But you gotta reverse that!

  • Show them who’s boss!

  • You are!

  • So whenever something morally-incorrect or something that just goes against your conscience occurs in mind,

  • intentionally stop thinking of it!

  • Switch your environment.

  • Distract yourselves with better thoughts or better things.

  • You have to train your mind to listen to

  • YOU!

  • It takes time, but if you keep on with the effort,

  • in time you will see the effects.

  • [whistling]

  • [Who ate all my Doritos!]

  • [Well, guess like I’ll just have less junk food.]

  • [Man, I’m good at positive thinking.]

  • [ding dong, ding dong]

  • Thoughts always come before actions.

  • So when youve arranged the mind, it’s much easier to manage the latter.

  • So with the same logic,

  • when you find yourself in the middle of, or at the start of doing something wrong,

  • intentionally tell yourself to

  • STOP!

    停!

  • [whistling]

  • Darn it, Joseph! Get your own Doritos for God sake!

  • I’m gonna make you pay!

  • [horror music]

  • Thank you.

  • [horror music]

  • No one messes with my Doritos!

  • I even got one for Joseph.

  • Joseph, youre paying!

  • [ding dong, ding dong]

  • You see, no matter if it’s in your head or in your actions,

  • it’s always a matter of intentional effort.

  • But as we said, it takes time and a lot of hard work.

  • Like running water smoothing out pebbles in the river.

  • Like building muscles!

  • You can’t just go to the gym once and expect yourself to become John Cena overnight.

  • But keep this in mind,

  • just like building muscles,

  • the more you work on it the easier itll get

  • and the more noticeable itll become.

  • Think gently, speak gently, act gently for a hundred times, a thousand times.

  • And if you keep up the good work,

  • in time you will find yourself savoring a totally different level of joy.

  • True freedom in the mind and your deeds.

  • Peace!

  • [music]
