The notes shown in the right hand column are the beginning of notes taken during an
anatomy class. Notice that the student numbered the different functions of muscle tissue and
then skipped a line when the instructor began discussing the next concept. Also, notice that
the notes are not written in complete sentences, but are thorough enough to understand
the information that was covered.
Here we have the same set of notes, but the key terms in the right column have been
highlighted in red. Then those terms were used to create “trigger” phrases to help
stimulate memory of what was covered in lecture.
