  • - Good morning, guys, it is so good to be home,

  • I am just putting the final touches on the vlog

  • for this morning,

  • and Jackson, Calvin and I

  • we're all just hanging out.

  • Hi, Buddy!

  • Hi, Buddy!

  • Oh, there's a wave.

  • - Aaahhh

  • - And Jackson is doing something

  • very interesting.

  • He has a bucket of rocks here,

  • and what he's doing is

  • he's testing the frequency of the sound of the rocks

  • on the pole, show us, Jackson;

  • (clanging)

  • and if it's a good frequency,

  • he puts it in the bucket.

  • Is that good?

  • Good job; now try that one.

  • (clanging)

  • Oh, what do you think about that?

  • Oh, that's a good one for sure.

  • - Big, BIG!

  • - That's a big rock!

  • (clanging)

  • Woo!

  • (clanging)

  • Those are some good rocks, huh Buddy?

  • (upbeat music)

  • - Good morning!

  • (sniffs)

  • I love... I love baby breath.

  • I love stinky baby breath.

  • I love it! (sniffs)

  • Call me crazy, (sniffs), but

  • that's something that I love.

  • I could just smell a baby waking up

  • like even Jax right now,

  • when he kinda has stinky breath.

  • Let me smell your stinky breath.

  • Come here.

  • Oh, you pooped!

  • Let me smell your stinky butt! (laughs)

  • Let me smell your breath.

  • No, no!

  • I don't want to smell your butt!

  • Did you see him turn his body?

  • Let me see you; I wanna smell your breath.

  • Lemme smell.

  • (sniffs)

  • Ooooh, that's so good!

  • That's so good!

  • Good morning, guys.

  • This is what we've been doing all morning.

  • I don't even think we've started the vlog,

  • but we just...

  • The boys are in their little matching outfits,

  • it's rainy, it's cold outside,

  • we've just been enjoying our morning together,

  • Calvin just woke up from a nap,

  • so this is what we're doing.

  • I think if, Jared, if I feel like

  • I can wrap up enough energy in me,

  • my stomach has kinda hurt this morning.

  • We will go down and pick out a garage door,

  • pick out a few things, so

  • we'll see how we all feel.

  • - A number 12.

  • - [restaurant employee] Okay.

  • - Guess what?

  • It's snowing.

  • - Medium.

  • - [employee] Okay, anything else?

  • - And Mom's with us, hi!

  • - No, just as it is.

  • - Jackson's asleep, and Calvin's awake.

  • - Sweetheart, what do you wanna drink?

  • - Pepsi?

  • No, no, no; I shouldn't have that,

  • my stomach's uh - do water.

  • - Just a water on that one if that's okay.

  • - [employee] A water?

  • - Yeah.

  • - [employee] Anything else for you today?

  • - We are ordering some food,

  • and we're gonna go pick out a garage door,

  • and we're gonna go pick out siding for our house.

  • - [employee] What size?

  • - Medium.

  • - We're ordering food; what do you guys want?

  • Dr. Pepper?

  • Want some fries?

  • - A water.

  • - [employee] All right.

  • - We'll get you some onion rings, too, don't worry.

  • - Jackson, we need to make sure

  • you deliver all the siding to us

  • in a properly fashion, okay?

  • - You like it.

  • - Do you have your license

  • for this heavy machinery?

  • Where's your hard hat?

  • You at least need your hard hat

  • if you're gonna drive it.

  • Where's your helmet?

  • - Right here.

  • - Oh, you have it?

  • - Helmet gone.

  • - The helmet's gone?

  • - Oh no!

  • - Oh no! (laughs)

  • Oh no, should we go get it?

  • (horn honks)

  • Oop, (laughs)

  • I never thought I would be at a point in my life

  • where I would say this:

  • I'm excited to go look at garage doors.

  • Garage doors is not something

  • that you typically get excited about,

  • but I am very excited to go look at garage doors.

  • - Garage doors are expensive;

  • be grateful for them!

  • - Are they?

  • - Yeah!

  • - Oh, I guess they're expensive.

  • - It's so pretty!

  • I love seeing the garage doors!

  • - These are cool; these are nice.

  • - How fun is this?

  • I love ones with little windows in it.

  • - Yes, well there's certain things

  • about garage doors

  • that I didn't even know about.

  • My dad actually had a client

  • who would sell garage door decor.

  • - Like that.

  • - I had no idea that that was even a thing!

  • - And it makes it look really fancy.

  • - It makes it look way better.

  • I mean, if you look at this garage door

  • versus that one, the decor adds a lot to it.

  • - Makes it, yeah, I love it.

  • - So it's just (mumbles) functional.

  • - I like the windows in it.

  • - Yeah, these are nice, too.

  • - Yeah, try all day opening that.

  • That'll keep him busy.

  • - I had no idea how far the garage door advancement

  • has gone with technology.

  • It's crazy!

  • We have the chains, what you're used to hearing,

  • the clunk-clunk-clunk-clunk as you open the door,

  • but now they have belts.

  • She was even saying they have all this stuff built in,

  • that if you want to hook it up

  • to your smart phone to open and close

  • your garage door, it's already built into it.

  • So it's just crazy how things change

  • from when you're a kid, to when you're doing it.

  • So when Jackson and Calvin are married

  • and building their house,

  • what kind of garage doors

  • are they gonna have?

  • It's gonna be crazy!

  • - I always pick the most expensive one!

  • I'm like, oh, never mind.

  • That one was pretty!

  • But we found one that we like,

  • so I'm excited.

  • - Good.

  • - It's gonna be a lot like,

  • it'll be white, it'll have six panels

  • and glass like that.

  • - Glass, yeah.

  • - It will kinda look like this,

  • but with thicker panels.

  • - But wider panels, yeah.

  • And we'll have the hardware on it, too,

  • and everything.

  • - Who knew I could be so excited about hardware?

  • - On a garage door!

  • - They're dreamy!

  • - Jackson, you've got your rain boots on;

  • what are you gonna do?

  • Jump in the water; woo!

  • Come jump right here in the big puddle.

  • Yeah!

  • Do it again!

  • Yeah!

  • - Me owie, owf.

  • Me owie owf.

  • - Jackson wants his owie off.

  • He's been trying to wipe it off.

  • Can you show me what you're doing?

  • He wants it off, he keeps saying,

  • "Owie!"

  • - E Owie!

  • - He doesn't like that it has a color to it.

  • He wants the color off.

  • He keeps trying to wipe it off.

  • Can you get it off?

  • - Nope.

  • - Why?

  • - No, owie!

  • - Because owies, it needs to heal, huh?

  • - E - owie.

  • E- owie.

  • - Yeah, it's an owie.

  • He's showing you guys.

  • He's showing you! (laughs)

  • Look, he just showed you his owie;

  • how cute is that?

  • And as far as the upgrades go,

  • what he was saying;

  • I think we won't do the upgrades

  • and we'll just do blinds or something

  • if you wanna do that.

  • - Sometimes I sit here with the camera

  • and see how many chins I can give myself.

  • (laughs)

  • We've been productive today!

  • We did the garage door,

  • we did glass on the outside of the house,

  • and what was the other one we did?

  • Oh we did siding, and windows; all those.

  • So we solidified all of that stuff,

  • and we're super excited; we're making progress.

  • Ellie was just saying

  • we're probably gonna start digging

  • in like two weeks, and we're so excited.

  • How crazy is that gonna be?

  • That's gonna be like right after our birthdays.

  • What a good birthday present, Ellie!

  • - I'm excited for your birthday.

  • - I'm excited for your birthday.

  • I have a special surprise that Ellie hasn't..

  • - ..surprise..

  • - You do?

  • Ah, this is great!

  • I really don't think you know what's coming.

  • I really don't, and I'm so excited.

  • - I don't think you know what's coming!

  • - Oh my gosh!

  • - Mom, it's your birthday;

  • you don't know what's coming!

  • - I don't know what's coming!

  • - Mom's birthday is a week after mine,

  • so we have to celebrate all...

  • and today's the, tomorrow, when this video goes up

  • it's Aspen's birthday.

  • Happy birthday, Aspen!

  • - Happy birthday, Aspen!

  • - Aspen!

  • - Excited!

  • - Say happy birthday!

  • - Happy to you!

  • - He said, "I'm excited" first;

  • say, "I'm excited!"

  • - Excited!

  • - Jackson, are you excited?

  • - Yup.

  • - Hee hee; yup!

  • It's like Goofy -- hee hee yup!

  • All this talk about birthdays and this weekend

  • made Mom realize that tomorrow is tax day

  • and they haven't done their taxes yet.

  • So I'm running into the store to grab TurboTax for them

  • so they can hurry and do their taxes tonight.

  • I can't remember, but I think it was Charles Dickens

  • wrote a book, and the first line in the book is:

  • There are two things that are certain in life;

  • death and taxes.

  • When the night of April 14th rolls around,

  • You definitely feel at least one of those things.

  • That's the one.

  • So there's a big puddle up here

  • and I'm going really slow

  • so the cars have enough space.

  • 'Cause I wanna hit this good.

  • Here we go!

  • (engine revs)

  • - There's so much rain!

  • (squeals)

  • - Look at all the rain!

  • (laughs)

  • Dad, we were out and about and we went to the store

  • and I found something and it's just

  • a big surprise for you.

  • I hope you like it and I hope you're ready for it.

  • - Okay.

  • - Are you ready?

  • - I'm ready.

  • - You're ready to see it?

  • - I'm sitting down.

  • I'm ready.

  • (door creaks)

  • - (laughs) Oh, great.

  • - Happy tax day!

  • - I so love it!

  • - You're welcome!

  • - The kids are done with the car

  • so they're getting their wiggles out.

  • Calvin's climbing on anything he can,

  • (mumbles) his head in the garbage can.

  • Oh, Jackson just left ya.

  • Jackson was climbing on Grandma's back.

  • Jackson, what were you doin' to Grandma?

  • Were you rubbin' her back?

  • Nope, that's Grandma's (gasp)

  • Okay, look.

  • (gasp) Jackson!

  • No, go pick those up and bring them back.

  • Put 'em softly, soft soft soft.

  • Thank you.

  • This is what Jackson was doing.

  • He was rubbin' Grandma's back.

  • Step on her back.

  • Whoa, ho.

  • - Tramp een!

  • - Trampoline, yes.

  • Jackson's getting his wiggles out

  • jumping on Grandma's back.

  • - Ugh!

  • - And you, you're in everything.

  • - Do you love me?

  • Ooh, kisses.

  • - Eww, not that kind!

  • Eww!

  • (laughter)

  • - Did you lick your grandma?

  • - Aww, that's...

  • - That's better.

  • - Whoa...woo!

  • - ♫ I'm dreamin' my life away

  • ♫ I need you so

  • That I could die

  • ♫ I love you so

  • And that is why

  • Whenever I want you

  • All I have to do

  • Is dream

  • Dream dream dream

  • - Calvin has a new trick that he's been doing,

  • he's been standing up on his own.

  • He's been walking across the couch and everything,

  • and then he lets go and stands.

  • Oh my gosh, he's like, "No, I'm tired"

  • - He doesn't wanna

  • - "I'm tired"

  • Okay, let's try and see if we can show them one time.

  • He's like, "I just wanna play with the blocks."

  • - So before we go to bed,

  • Jackson has been jumping in puddles all day,

  • and we got home where we play at;

  • look, guys,

  • it is a swimming pool!

  • Just right outside!

  • That is the largest puddle-jumping ever!

  • Do you wanna puddle-jump in that

  • before we take a bath?

  • - ...biggest puddle I've ever seen, Jackson!

  • Stay right by him, though, I don't know how...

  • - What do you think, Jackson...

  • - That's intense; look at that!

  • It's full.

  • - It's a pool; we just got our own pool!

  • - Here, you guys jump your feet in a little.

  • - Should we get our feet in?

  • - Puddle-jump, Jack?

  • - So cold.

  • - Is it cold; oh.

  • - Woo!

  • Can you jump?

  • Oh, that's so cold.

  • - Ah, cute.

  • - Ooh hoo hoo!

  • - Cold it!

  • - It's cold.

  • Part of me wants to just jump in.

  • - He would rather throw rocks into the water.

  • - Okay, throw it.

  • Don't you dare show me

  • without my hat on, Ellie!

  • I have some major hat head!

  • Look at this; you know what I should do?

  • Now you can't see my unibrow.

  • You don't know if I wax it or not.

  • - We're gonna go ahead and end the vlog;

  • I got both kids down,

  • Jared has already started editing a little bit.

  • Jackson is so funny.

  • He doesn't necessarily want me

  • to lay with him in the bed anymore,

  • but he wants me in the room.

  • So I laid by him and he pushed my head

  • and pointed to the rocking chair.

  • He wanted me to rock,

  • but not to rock him,

  • but to sit there while he fell asleep.

  • So that's what I did.

  • - That's what we do on a regular basis.

  • He's like, "Mm! Sit over in the rocking chair."

  • It's cute; it's funny.

  • - And then I rocked Calvin to bed.

  • So we're gonna go ahead and say goodnight.

  • We will see you tomorrow.

  • - Tomorrow is the weekend for you guys,

  • so we hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  • - Getting ready for our birthday!

  • Dr. Pepper

  • - I need to get my eyelashes done tomorrow.

  • - Okay, talk to you later!

  • - Bye!

- Good morning, guys, it is so good to be home,
