Today we’re at the fruit market in Yujing, 今天我來到了玉井青果市場

The Yujing Fruit Market is near‭ ‬the Old Street‭,‬ 玉井青果集貨場位在老街附近

and it’s only about a 5-minute walk from there. 步行約五分鐘的路程

The fruit market is sometimes called the “Mango Market”. 玉井青果市場又稱為「芒果市」

It started as a small-scale distribution center 原本是小型農業

for agricultural goods, 集散地

then it continued to grow 後來不斷擴增

into the modern-day fruit market. 成為現在的「青果集貨場」

Besides having mangoes from Yujing, 除了玉井的芒果之外

Produce from nearby towns such as 附近的楠西、大內、左鎮、南化

Nanxi, Danei, Zuozhen and Nanhua. 種植的農產品

are also sold here. 也會在這裡集貨交易

Since the merger of Tainan City and Tainan County in 2011, 民國99年(西元2011年)臺南縣市合併後

the city has decided to consolidate 臺南市政府集結整併

all the produce markets in the area, 臺南各地的果菜市場

forming the Tainan Agricultural Products Marketing Company (TAPMC). 統一正名為「臺南市農產運銷股份有限公司」

Speaking of wholesales, auctions comes to mind. 一般批發可能會聯想到拍賣

Currently, the Yujing Branch of TAPMC has no auction system in place. 目前「臺南市農產運銷股份有限公司-玉井場」沒有拍賣制度

To offer assurance to consumers, 為了讓消費者買得安心

TAPMC 「臺南市農產運銷股份有限公司」

has begun putting “seals of approval” stickers on its produce, 推行「安心標章」貼在農產品上

making it more convenient for consumers 方便消費者

to differentiate between product grade through packaging, 透過包裝辨識農產品分級

thereby increasing consumer confidence. 來增加消費者對產品的信任度

Many consumers worry 很多消費者會擔心

about the fact that many beautiful looking crates, or boxes of fruits 一整籃的水果上面看起來很漂亮

may have inferior-quality fruits lining the bottom, 但底層的部分可能品質並不好

or even padded with thick newspapers, 或者其實墊了厚報紙充數

and that they would have no one to report this practice to. 買了以後卻投訴無門

So, these “seals of approval” are 所以 透過「安心標章」

put in place to protect and guide consumers. 來幫消費者把關

make sure you are buying products 選購有「安心標章」

with the “seal of approval” sticker on it 的農產品

so, you know what you are getting is quality-assured. 才能有所保證喔！

What a huge place, 這裡真的非常的大

and it’s both a wholesale and retail market. 有批發也有零售

On the left, there are farmer’s trucks loaded with produce, 從最左邊 果農販賣整個小貨車的新鮮水果

along with dried fruits and other merchandise, 再來是果乾和其他產品

along with small retail stands. 也有小攤販零售

During the mango season, 到芒果旺季的時候

the entire market becomes packed with visitors. 整個青果集貨場就會客滿

To the right are ice shops and food stands, 而在最右邊 是冰店和熟食區

so, take your time, and tour this place whichever way you see fit! 可以依據自己的需求愛怎麼逛都可以啦！

This is the fruit wholesale market, 這裡是水果批發市集

and anyone can come buy the fruits. 任何人都可以來採購喔

These fruits all come in crates or baskets, 但是這裡的水果幾乎都是整籃賣

so, it really is a large amount, 量其實非常多

but it’s great when you want to split the cost 很適合三五好友

between a few friends, 一起來團購

It’s quite a bargain. 非常划算

The fruits are retailed here, 市場裡的水果主要是批發

and it sells in a basket, so it’s a lot. 擺在籃子裡賣 所以數量都很多

But, here it sells in a small amount, 不過這裡 卻可以只買一點點

Aunty, how much for this platter? 阿姨，那這一盤怎麼賣？

It’s 70NT for 600 grams, 一斤(600克)70元

or 300NT for the whole platter. 一盤300元

So‭, ‬in this market‭, ‬ 在這個市集裡面

they‭ ‬don’t just sell fresh fruit‭, ‬but dry merchandise‭.‬ 他們不只賣新鮮水果 也賣乾貨

Well‭, ‬here is dried mango‭.‬ 這裡有芒果乾‭ ‬

There are all sorts of dried fruits here. 這裡有各式各樣各種口味的果乾

Besides buying fresh fruits, 除了買水果之外

the dried fruits here are also good options. 果乾也是不錯的選擇

You can even try some samples. 重點是可以試吃喔

It’s so fresh! 這好新鮮!

Not just dried mango but also dried taro. 不只有芒果乾 還有芋頭乾

And now is also pineapple season. 現在也是鳳梨盛產的季節

It’s really delicious, 真的很好吃

and it’s yummy and juicy. 又好吃又多汁
