For example 在這個體系本身內 有某種因果聯繫 例如 there's a great deal of violence ocurring in the United States. One of the most unique things that's been discovered 其中最近被社會科學家發現 recently by social scientists is that 最為獨特的一點是 the degree of inequality in the current society 目前社會中不平等的程度 excuse me, in a society 抱歉 是在一個社會中 is directly proportional to the rates of violence 與暴力行為的比率成正相關 across the whole spectrum of violent behavior. So, it's economic attributes 也就是說 正是經濟屬性 that can relate to seemingly aberrated acts of violence. Even random shootings and things as such. So, these are important factors to take into account 因此 這些是我們要考慮的重要因素 there's a lot of evidence regarding this information. The stress of this society is underlying, based economically, 基於經濟的潛在社會壓力 it leads to all sorts of social distortions and neurosis, 導致各種各樣的社會扭曲和神經官能症 addictions and problematic behaviors, 成癮以及問題行為 not to mention physical illnesses and everything else. So, the love of money is the root of all evil on multiple levels. The second point I would like to make 我想說的第二點很簡單 is that, well, very simply money isn't needed. Money is not neccesary anymore. The values that we have, permeating in this culture are distorted 扭曲的價值觀瀰漫在我們的文化之中 and they generate more sickness than anything positive. 它們產生的病態比好處多 More sickness than progress. 病態比進步多 People function essentially in 人們在現代世界中 two different capacities in the modern world, 有兩種不同的類型 they're either parasites or they're prostitutes. Sorry to be blunt about it, but that is the 抱歉說話很直 但這就是 firm reality across the entire spectrum, 整個世界範圍的鮮明現實 regardless of how you look at it. There's a subservience attribute to what this system demands and it 這個體系要求人們展現屈服 順從的屬性 always blows my mind when people think that there's something free 一直讓我震驚的是 人們認為在我們生活的世界中 about the world that we live in. Freedom is not even a nuance of the system 我們目前生活的體系 that we current live in. It's not based on freedom whatsoever. If it was, it would be completely different. In fact, much closer to a Resource-Based Economy. But that's an aside. So, money is not needed, not only the values need to be changed, 不再需要金錢 需要改變的也不僅僅是價值觀 where people don't have the acquisitive materialistic values, 其中人們不會有貪婪的物質主義價值觀 they don't have to be brainwashed into constant, conspicuous consumption 不必被持續的 炫富的消費洗腦 to keep GDP up, to keep employment up 以保持GDP的增長 就業率的上升等等 and everything else that keeps this machine going. Those can be resolved in a new system. And new values can be created 這些問題在新體系中可以解決 新價值觀也可以建立 as they always had been throughout time. A second part to that, which I think is important to bring up, 另一方面 我認為重要一提的是 is that the efficiency that we're capable of doing, capable of having, 我們解決問題的效率 the ability to create excess abundance, 創造充份富裕的能力 the ability to take care of the basic needs of all the world's people, 滿足世上所有人們基本需求的能力 the ability to elevate our technology to levels 提升我們的科技至 我們可能都 that we probably can't even imagine, 無法想像其水準的能力 is intrinsically stiffled by this very system 這些能力本質上正是被目前這個體系所扼殺 because of the cost-efficiency mechanisms 原因在於成本效益機制 and all the profit attributes that make it virtually impossible 以及所有的利潤特性 這兩者使我們不可能 for the best of anything to be created. We could raise society to the state of present day knowledge, which 我們本可以用現今的知識來改善社會 if you analyze today, we're probably about a hundred years behind, 但你若分析當今社會 坦白講 我們可能落後了 to be perfectly frank. Maybe I'm little extreme on that note, 或許我講得有點過頭了 maybe more to the effect of sixty years behind 或許落後了六十年 but I think somewhere between sixty and a hundred years behind 我認為大約落後六十年到一百年之間 is where we exist today. If we wanted to take modern knowledge and apply it 如果我們想把現代科技 towards renewable energies, production 應用至可再生能源 生產 and anything that we think is socially viable, 與我們認為在社會中是可行的任何事 you would see a cataclysmic change, if that knowledge would 你將會看到劇烈的改變 假如這些知識 simply be applied and not hindered by the profit mechanism 能被單純地運用 而不被利潤機制 and the things that are required to 或是這個文化中 任何事物 make anything come to fruition in this culture. If you can't make money off of something, it's not going to happen. And the world you see around you is the result of that. Third point, to cut off my posible long winded tangents. The third point was very simple to the effect that 第三點非常簡單 也就是 the system has ran its course, the entropy has kicked in. The system is breaking down, excuse me. And there's nothing that's going to stop that break down 如果我們仍依附於金融貨幣體系的機制 if the mechanisms of the monetary system are adhered to. It's only if the mechanisms are bypassed and, say, 只有規避這個機制 例如 gigantic amounts of debt relief is assumed or... Things of that nature or, you know 你懂的 諸如此類的事 Manhattan Projects, if you will, for say, renewable energies... Those are the only things that are going to 這些將會是唯一能減緩 slow the decline of the current system 目前體系衰退的措施 which has been breaking down for at least seventy years now. We don't see it because we live in it. We are in the box, remember. So, as this system continues to fail, 當這個體系持續失靈 as the wars increase, as the social stresses increase, 當戰爭變多 當社會壓力變重 as the divisions of society increases, 當社會的隔閡增加 you're going to see a lot of social instability and 你將看到嚴重的社會不穩定 it's about time that people realize that 是時候讓人們瞭解到 there's no solution anymore within the current order. We're going to have to do something different. We have to change our way of thinking 我們必須改變思考的角度 if we expect to resolve this and to create a stable society, 如果我們期望解決問題 並建立穩定的社會 a steady-state society that can actually 一個穩定的社會能夠照顧到 take care of the 7 to 8 billion people 這個星球上即將出現的 that are on this planet or are going to be on this planet. So, I'm going to leave it at that. On a loose distinction, I hope everyone would 附帶一提 我希望大家 go the thezeitgeistmovement.com and look into these points. And thank you for your time, and I hope to see 謝謝大家抽出時間 我希望 a flood of such testimonials from all of you 在不久的將來 能從各位聽到 in the near future. Thank you.
