  • Today we're going to learn the Korean English.

    今天我們要來學習韓式英語

  • Konglish.

    又稱 Konglish

  • You should know.

    你們都應該要學學

  • Hey, what up guys.

    哈囉大家

  • Okay. In this episode, what we are going to learn is Konglish.

    好的,在這部影片中,我們要學習韓式英語

  • Konglish stands for Koreanized English.

    Konglish 是韓式英語的代稱

  • In each country, they have their own way to speak English, right?

    每個國家都有自己說英語的方式對吧?

  • So yeah, in Korea, we have some specific English words that only Koreans use.

    在韓國,我們也有一些特定的字只有韓國人會用

  • The reason I make this video is when you travel to Korea, or if you have any Korean friends, you know.

    會拍這部影片是因為當你們去韓國玩,或是交韓國朋友

  • To avoid the misunderstandings.

    可以避免誤會

  • So you can anticipate for those misunderstanding through this stupid Konglish lesson.

    透過這個課程可以避免誤會發生

  • All right then, let's get to know one by one.

    好的,我們一個一個開始吧

  • Number one. Skinship.

    第一個是 Skinship

  • I'll give you three seconds that you can guess.

    給你們三秒鐘猜它的意思

  • Okay. 1...2...3...

    一、二、三

  • Skinship actually means a touch, you know.

    Skinship 意思是「觸摸」

  • It's like physical interaction or like, physical relationship.

    肢體接觸或是有身體上的關係

  • Any touch. Like human's doing.

    任何人類的觸摸都算

  • But if you say "touch" in Korea, that doesn't mean like, physical interaction.

    因為在韓國,touch 不是肢體接觸的意思

  • That's only means like, just high-five, or you know, touch.

    而是像「擊掌」或單純的摸一下

  • So if you just say touch, I think Koreans might not understand.

    所以如果你說 touch,韓國人應該聽不懂

  • But if you say skinship, most of them will understand.

    但如果你說 skinship,大部分人就會懂

  • So in case, if you don't like to be touched from someone else,

    如果你不想被其他人觸碰

  • if you say "Don't touch." Sometimes Koreans think that's kind of rude.

    別說 "Don't touch.",韓國人會覺得有點沒禮貌

  • You know, it's too strong to say that.

    有點太嚴重了

  • But if you say like, "No skinship please." Then they will be more happier to stop doing it.

    但如果你說 "No skinship please." 他們會欣然的接受

  • I know it's broken English, but if you are traveling in Korea, the word you should know.

    我知道是破英文,但來韓國玩你就該知道這個字

  • Skinship.

    Skinship

  • This is skinship.

    像這樣就是 Skinship

  • Okay next one is A/S.

    下一個是 A/S

  • After service.

    After service

  • I give you three seconds, you can guess.

    給你們三秒鐘猜

  • 1, 2, 3!

    一、二、三

  • Yeah, if you thought of something adult or porn,

    如果你想到色色的東西

  • I think you're just a pervert.

    那你是個變態

  • Nah, I'm just joking.

    沒啦,開玩笑的

  • After service means Warranty.

    After service 是「保固」的意思

  • So if you shop around in Seoul, or I mean, in Korea,

    在首爾或韓國逛街的時候

  • you know, if you shop around,

    你會逛逛

  • you know like, most mobile devices, or electronic devices

    手機或電器用品

  • from Samsung or Apple or big major companies in the world,

    可能是三星或蘋果,或其他大廠牌

  • they provide international warranties right?

    他們會提供國際保固對吧?

  • You know if you ask the staff of the store,

    如果你問店員

  • is the warranty available, then you can ask them like

    有沒有保固,你可以這樣說

  • "After service ok?"

    "After service ok?"

  • Then they will say ok or no.

    他們就會說有或沒有

  • Easy to ask right? After service.

    很簡單吧?After service

  • Number 3. Meeting.

    第三個,Meeting

  • I'll give you three seconds, you can guess.

    給你們三秒猜

  • 1, 2, 3.

    一、二、三

  • In Australia, when people saying meeting,

    在澳洲,meeting 的意思

  • it's mostly about business meeting right?

    通常都是開會吧?

  • But in Korea, when we causally say meeting,

    但在韓國,我們說的 meeting

  • it means "blind date".

    是「盲約」的意思

  • Boy and girl, they don't know each other, but they got introduced from their friends,

    男生、女生,不認識彼此,受朋友介紹

  • so they do a blind date.

    而去盲約

  • Which means meeting.

    也就是 meeting

  • If there's, you know, young Korean, one of your friends,

    如果你的朋友說

  • if they say, "oh I'm going out to meeting."

    「我要去 meeting」

  • Which means they're going to blind date.

    就表示他們要去參加盲約

  • Or you can ask to your friend you know,

    或你可以跟你朋友說

  • "I need some meeting." You know.

    「我現在好需要一場 meeting。」

  • Which means you want a boy, a girl, who can do a blind date with you.

    就是你希望他介紹你男生/女生去盲約

  • It's a simple word. Meeting. It's not a business meeting.

    是很簡單的一個字,meeting,不是開會的意思

  • Blind date.

    盲約

  • Health.

    Health

  • 1, 2, 3.

    一、二、三

  • Health actually means "gym".

    Health 指「健身房」

  • So if you are traveling in Korea, and if you want to work out.

    在韓國旅遊時如果你想去健身

  • And if that's your hobby, you can go to hotel reception, and then ask them.

    或健身室你的嗜好,你可以去問旅館櫃台說

  • "Where's the health?"

    「Health 在哪裡?」

  • Sometimes they might not understand what "gym" means.

    他們可能不會懂什麼是 "gym"

  • Then you can ask them "I need health", "health".

    所以就要說「我需要 health」「Health」

  • They will understand that you need a gym to work out.

    他們就會懂你想健身

  • Super.

    Super

  • Can you guess what super means in Korea?

    你知道韓文的 Super 是什麼意思嗎?

  • I give you three seconds.

    給你們三秒喔

  • 1, 2, 3.

    一、二、三

  • When you say "I'm going to super" in Korea,

    當你說「我要去 Super」

  • which means you're going to supermarket.

    意思就是你要去超市

  • It doesn't matter whether it's a big market or small market.

    不論是大賣場還是超級市場

  • But when you say super, it means you're going to the supermarket.

    當你說 super 就是你要去超市的意思

  • To avoid your misunderstanding, I'm telling you.

    教你們是為了避免誤會

  • Fighting.

    Fighting

  • This is one of the famous words you can hear from Korea.

    這是韓文中很有名的一個字

  • When we do like World Cup, you know,

    世界盃的時候

  • like international football league or something.

    (那個國際足球賽)

  • Heaps of Koreans they always keep saying "fighting, fighting, fighting!"

    韓國人都會一直說 "fighting, fighting, fighting!"

  • This doesn't mean you actually want to fight, this means "cheer up, hurray!" you know.

    不是他們想打架的意思,而是「加油!」

  • When your friends say "you're fighting" to you,

    當你們朋友叫你 "fighting" 時

  • which means they want to cheer you up.

    是想要叫你加油

  • They want to give you more power.

    給你力量

  • Be cheering for you, you know.

    他們會是你的後盾

  • So Koreans, they love to say fighting!

    所以韓國人很愛說 fighting

  • To give you more power. Fighting!

    給你力量,fighting!

  • Okay. Last one. Hunting.

    最後一個,hunting

  • Hunting actually means that you're shooting a gun to get the wildlife animals right?

    hunting 的意思原本是去打獵對吧?

  • But in Korea, when you say hunting, because it's illegal to carry guns on the street,

    但在韓國持槍是違法的

  • it means "picking up girls".

    所以 hunting 的意思是「釣女生」

  • If you're a boy, and if you're traveling in Korea,

    如果你是男生,到韓國旅遊

  • and if your friends say "let's go hunting", which means let's go out to pick up girls to drink with.

    你的朋友說「我們去 hunting 吧!」意思就是他想去釣女生

  • Okay so far, those were Koreanized English.

    好的,這些是韓式英語

  • I know that they're broken English.

    我知道它們不是正規英文

  • But you know, language are getting developed, so one day this could be the real English in the future right?

    但語言會隨著時間演進,也許有一天它們就變成正式英語了

  • Yeah this would help if you're traveling in Korea.

    如果你想到韓國旅遊這些會幫上忙

  • Actually you got to know those.

    其實,你們一定得知道這些字

  • So you won't misunderstand what Koreans are saying and then you can communicate better with them.

    才不會誤解韓國人的意思,也可以有效與韓國人溝通

  • So if you got any questions, regard to Korean English, or something you are uncomfortable with,

    如果你有任何問題,不論是對於韓式英語還是讓你不舒服的事

  • please leave a comment.

    都可以留言給我

  • So me and our family will help you out soon.

    我和我們這個大家庭會幫助你
