  • From El Paso, Texas, please welcome Emma and her mom Annie.

  • >> [APPLAUSE] >> What's different?

  • Something's different about you.

  • >> It's because I have glasses.

  • >> That's what it is, you have glasses on.

  • When did you get the glasses?

  • >> [LAUGH] >> Just very recently, it's very new.

  • >> Recent and do you like them?

  • >> Mm-hm.

  • >> I loved them.

  • I think they're great.

  • They're a great color.

  • They're adorable.

  • >> [APPLAUSE] >> Now,

  • can you do the gymnastics in the glasses?

  • >> Yeah. >> How do you do them?

  • >> Can you tell her about your special glasses that you have for gym?

  • >> [LAUGH] >> Are they like goggles?

  • >> Yeah. >> Yeah, they're like goggles,

  • so they stay on.

  • There's a strap and everything?

  • >> Mm-hm.

  • >> Did you know that she needed glasses?

  • Cuz last time you were here you thought she was just clumsy.

  • >> [LAUGH] >> [LAUGH]

  • >> Well, I was a little bit

  • concerned because clumsiness is one thing but she kept running into things.

  • And I'm not sure that that's so normal.

  • >> Right.

  • >> So, I actually had her eyes checked then.

  • Why do you need glasses?

  • Can you tell her?

  • She's lacking depth perception.

  • >> Uh-huh.

  • >> So she can see fine, she can see what's in front of her.

  • >> Uh-huh. >> But

  • she can't tell exactly how far away it is from her.

  • >> I see. >> That's why she kept

  • running into things.

  • >> It's amazing though cuz you're so good at gymnastics,

  • you'd think that you'd have to be good at depth perception with gymnastics, right?

  • >> Yes. >> That's amazing.

  • So, that's just totally fine to do gymnastics.

  • You don't have any problem with that.

  • So, you're four years old now.

  • You had a birthday.

  • What did you do to celebrate?

  • What did she do to celebrate?

  • >> [LAUGH] >> Where did you go?

  • Do you want to tell everyone where we went?

  • >> She's having a shy day.

  • It's okay.

  • >> She's having a shy day.

  • >> It's okay. >> Yeah, we went Jungle Jack's and well

  • her favorite thing was I think riding the bumper cars and the bumper boats probably.

  • Yeah, that was good.

  • >> That's great, so I know your husband is overseas, he's in the army.

  • So, and he missed Emma's birthday, right?

  • >> Yes he did.

  • >> So, that's really tough.

  • Were you able to FaceTime or do anything?

  • >> Yeah, we were able to get him on FaceTime.

  • >> Yeah. >> When she opened her presents,

  • we had him on FaceTime so he could see that.

  • >> And there's a certain way that you could get messages.

  • Last time you were here you had the hug jar.

  • >> Yes.

  • >> And now there's a new way that you can hear messages, what is it?

  • >> Do you wanna tell her about Ello?

  • >> I think it's in a bag over there, if you want to show me how it works.

  • >> You want to show her ello?

  • Yeah.

  • >> It's a kitty, and what happens?

  • >> You push the blue button.

  • >> You push which button?

  • >> Sweet dreams, princess, I love you so much, and

  • I miss you a whole bunch, and I can't wait to talk to you.

  • [SOUND] Sweet dreams.

  • >> That's your daddy being able to talk to you through the kitty.

  • >> [APPLAUSE] >> That's so sweet.

  • I love that.

  • All right.

  • >> [APPLAUSE] >> We have to take a break.

  • When we come back, I know you have another kitty too.

  • Felix, right?

  • Is Felix your kitty?

  • So, I have a little treat for Felix.

  • We'll be back.

  • Now, we have a little surprise for you.

  • We have your dad come on out Brent.

  • [MUSIC]

  • >> [APPLAUSE]

  • >> My God.

  • >> [APPLAUSE],

  • [MUSIC]

  • >> How about that, that's a surprise right?

  • That's a good surprise.

  • Surprise!

  • >> Thank you!

  • >> I'm so happy that you're here.

  • You've been stationed in Korea and you only are here for a few days.

  • So, thanks to the US Army for allowing this to happen.

  • Thank you so much.

  • >> [APPLAUSE] >> How are you?

  • >> Are you happy?

  • Are you happy?

  • >> Thanks. >> That is so

  • precious when she was just playing your voice through the little kitty.

  • That's such a great idea that she gets to hear you.

  • >> Yeah, she gets one every morning and every night.

  • >> That's so sweet!

  • So you missed her birthday, that must've been really tough on you.

  • >> Yeah it was, we usually do something very special for her birthday.

  • We'll do a trip or make it a very special day just for her.

  • All about her day.

  • But I wasn't there.

  • So, we did it through FaceTime.

  • So, I was kinda there but not there at the same time.

  • I got to watch her open all her gifts and see the excitement still.

  • >> Well, we want you to have as much fun as possible while you're here and

  • celebrate her birthday now that you're here.

  • So, we're sending you to Disneyland.

  • >> [APPLAUSE] >> You're going to see

  • [INAUDIBLE] >> Thank you

  • >> Thank you for being here.

  • Have fun enjoy yourselves.
