Today, I’ll be teaching y’all English vocabulary about love

今天則是要教大家跟愛情、戀愛相關的英文單字喔

A quote goes like this

我曾經看到有人這樣說

“Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.”

「有時候，內心會讓你體悟眼睛所看不見的悸動」

Love is a curious thing

愛情真的是很奇妙的東西

one day you’d wake up and find yourself

有一天，你起床然後發現

looking at someone differently

你看某個人的方式已經不一樣了

and before you know it, you’ve fallen in love

在你還沒意識到之前，你就已經愛上了對方了

There are many aspects in love

愛情有酸甜苦辣

but today I’ll be focusing on the relatively positive sides

今天，我會著重在比較甜，比較正面的那一部分

and emotions of love

跟各種愛上人時會有的情緒

This happens when you see someone

當你看到某人時

and you like them

然後你喜歡他這一個人的話

you might be attracted to them

你就可能會被他吸引

I don’t know if this really happens in real life

我不知道現實世界到底存不存在一見鍾情

but as the phrase itself suggests

但就如同這個片語字面上的意思

you fall in love at the first sight of that particular person

你在看到某個人的第一眼就愛上他了

After being attracted to someone

在被某個人吸引之後

you might start to develop a crush for this person

單純的吸引可能會衍生成暗戀

When you have a crush on someone

當你暗戀某個人的時候

it means you like them secretly

代表著你偷偷喜歡著他們

and they probably don’t know it

但是他們或許不知道這件事

This is kinda similar to having a crush

這個和暗戀有有點接近

but I think the degree of love is higher in this one

但我覺得可能比暗戀更高(慘)了一個層次

This is seen as a very playful way of

這個其實被視為比較調皮

interaction with your love interest

和你喜歡的人的互動方式

When you are interested in someone or

當你對某人有興趣

when you have a crush

或是暗戀某人時

t’s very common that you will be flirting with them

其實這個情況還滿常見的，就是你會和他們調情

to gain their attention or even affection

為了得到他們的注意甚至是喜愛

When you woo someone

當你追求某個人時

you hope to make them fall for you

你會希望他們也會因此愛上你

If you want to take things a bit further than just flirting with them

如果你想要比調情更近一步

you’ll begin your plans to woo them

那你就會開始追求他們的計畫

Being swooned means you’re feeling a bit faint and overwhelmed

神魂顛倒的意思就是有一點暈暈的、微醺的感覺

by your emotions or by something someone else did or say

可能是你自己太激動興奮，也可能是因為對方的言行舉止

Seeing your crush, going on first dates

看到你暗戀的人，第一次去約會

holding hands, these are all situations

第一次牽手，在這些情況下

that will make you feel like

你都可能會有這種感覺

you have a bunch of butterflies in your stomach

就是感覺肚子有蝴蝶在亂飛

It’ll be this nervous, excited

那就是緊張、興奮

and freaked out combination

還有點瀕臨崩潰的綜合體

that will give you this fluttering feeling

就會給你這種飄飄然、緊張刺激的感覺

After multiple attempts

在嘗試邀請對方很多次後

your crush finally agrees to go on a date with you

你暗戀的對象終於答應出去和你約會啦

you’ll probably be going to a nice restaurant

你們可能會一起去間不錯的餐廳

and later on to the theaters for a romantic movie

吃完飯後再一起看場羅曼蒂克的電影

After your first date

在第一次約會後

it may be followed by a couple more coffee dates

之後可能還會有一連串的微約會，可能是一起喝喝咖啡

movie dates, dinner dates, workout dates, etc

一起看看電影，一起吃吃晚餐，一起運運動等等等

and in this process

在這個過程中

is how the romance between you two build up

戀情就在你們之間慢慢萌芽了

In the end, if all things work well between the two of you

最後，如果一切順利的話

you’ll most likely be in a relationship with this special someone

你就很有可能和這個特別的人開始交往囉～
