Get everything in transcription until you're speaking, 所有東西都用抄的,直到你能流利說出來為止。 then come back and learn the writing later. 然後之後再回來學習書寫。 Think about native speakers: they were exposed, they mimicked, they mumbled, they talked, they communicated. 想想母語人士:他們暴露在其中,他們模仿、他們喃喃自語、他們交談、他們彼此交流。 Then they went to school and started learning to read. 然後他們去學校,開始學習閱讀。 Then a few years later they started learning grammar. 然後過了幾年,他們開始學習文法。 Then they learned how to craft essays. 然後他們學習如何組織文章。 Then they had a language class that taught everything in the opposite order, and nobody got fluent. 接著,他們上了語言課,用完全相反的步驟教他們學習,所以沒有人能流利講話。 Those who took the harder second path, will have joined us by now. 那些走上較困難的第二條途徑的人,現在就會加入我們。 It would have taken twice as long to get here, 他們必須花兩倍長的時間才到的了這裡。 because they focused on learning the writing system first. 因為他們先專注在學習書寫系統。 If you're feeling tired, be proud of your gains and how far you've come. 如果你覺得累了,請為你所獲得的,以及走了這麼遠來到這裡而驕傲。 From here you really can see the big picture and how the language works. 從這裡,你真的可以看到大的架構,以及語言如何運作。 The grammar forest below also makes better sense though you may not be able to see all the details yet. 下面的文法森林會比較有道理,即便你還是不能看到所有的細節。 You're better off up here than standing down there, 但你比起困在文法森林中,站在上面這些好多了。 because all those tiny little details in the leaves can't compare to the big picture you now have. 因為所有在葉子上的微小細節,都比不過你現在已經擁有的大架構。 Before going on, let's take the alternate route and see what happens. 在繼續之前,我們來看看另一條路發生了什麼。 This is the harder path where we learn how to read the foreign language. 這是比較困難的那條路,在那我們學習如何讀懂外文。 Since you've already learned how to speak, 既然你已經學到如何說話。 you'll recognize words that you already know in speech and it will help you learn the writing much faster. 你將能辨認出那些你已經在口語時知道的單字,且這也會幫你在學習閱讀時更為快速。 Don't be fooled by Latin writing either. 也別被拉丁書寫給愚弄了。 Many languages are not spelled like they're pronounced and each language has a different system. 很多語言的唸法跟拼法並不一致,且每個語言有不一樣的系統。 Difficult Asian writing systems can be learned quickly by following Glossika's guides. 困難的亞洲書寫系統,在遵循 Glossika 指南的情況下,也可以學的很快。 Your language learning will feel like it's slowing down, but this is only temporary. 你的語言學習會覺得好像慢下來,但這只是暫時的。 Start reading short stories that you already know because you can guess what the story is talking about. 開始閱讀你已經知道的短篇故事,因為你可以去猜故事在說些什麼。 Don't look up every word, 不要去查閱每個單字。 just think about the meaning of the story and the words will start to make sense. 只要去想這個故事的含意,這些字就會開始有意義。 Practice reading everything aloud or after a native speaker. 練習大聲念出所有的東西,或跟著母語人士一起唸。 The repetition of common phrases and vocabulary means you're going to start acquiring vocabulary extremely quickly. 對日常語句與字彙的複誦,意味著你能極快的開始學習單字。 Progress feels slow. Retell the stories in your own words. 過程覺得緩慢。用自己的話語再講一次故事。 You'll force yourself to start using more vocabulary this way. 這樣的話,你就能強迫你自己開始使用更多的詞彙。 Keep trying to retell the stories with a tutor or friend, or make a video. 繼續試著跟家教或者是朋友重述故事,或者是製作影片。 Fluency means you speak what you want and it flows without hesitation. 「流利」意味著你能說你想說的,且沒有猶豫就能表達出來。 You're lacking vocabulary, so it's easy to plateau and give up. 你正在缺乏字彙,所以很容易趨於平穩或是放棄。 Now is the time to add vocabulary. 現在是時候去增加字彙了。 Learning the writing system allows you to do lots of reading, 學習書寫系統允許你可以有更多的閱讀可能。 and live and use the language daily (to acquire specific cultural references). 且每天都要活用語言(去學習特定文化的參照)。 You may be able to speak fluently, 你就有可能說得很流利。 but you still have a lot to learn to mastery. 但要精通你還有很多要學的。 This is likely the most difficult of all stages. 這可能是所有階段裡最困難的。 Few people get past this point. 很少人能通過這個點。 You now read and speak the language with little effort. 你現在不用花費很多心神,就能讀和說這個語言。 Complacency has set in. You have little to gain by going farther. 你已經滿足了,再繼續學習能學到不多。 You understand almost everything. 你幾乎能理解任何事。 Things you don't understand, you may incorrectly blame the speaker or just call it a dialect. 當你讀不懂的時候,你可能會錯誤地歸因於講者,或者就稱它為方言。 You might not care if you don't understand proverbs or cultural references. 你可能不在乎你不懂諺語或者因文化發展出的詞語。 If you want true mastery, you should care. 如果你真的想精通,你應該要在乎的。 This is a steep slope, and the hardest work is required here. 這是個艱鉅的斜坡,最需要費力的就是在這個部分的學習。 Hit the books for a year or two: 好好讀一兩年的書: read the high school and college literature books in your target language. (用你的目標語言)閱讀高中跟大學程度的文學書籍。 Try translating a novel back to your language to earn your C2 level. 試著把小說翻成你的語言以達到 C2 程度。 You know you've mastered the language when you start using it for big chunks of time. 當你能長時間的使用這個語言時,你就會知道你已經精通了。 Your first language will definitely be your hardest to learn. 你的第一個語言一定會是你最難學的。 Once you've mastered a language, you'll be curious about other languages and realize they're not that hard anymore. 一旦你已經精通一個語言,你會對其他語言感到好奇,且意識他們不再那麼的困難。 Each language will open a new world of opportunities and experiences that will enrich your life. 每個語言都將打開一個充滿機會與經驗的新世界,且將豐富你的生命。 Don't wait; get started today! 別等的:今天就開始吧!
