I had a huge yard sale the other day, huge success, what I want to pay attention

to is the fact that people start coming at like 5:30 in the morning. So the morning of your

yard sale, you're all prepared, you have everything ready to rock and roll, you want to get up,

I'm not kidding, about 3:30 in the morning. you want to get up and make yourself look presentable.

Because even though there are going to be people showing up at the crack of dawn and they look like

they've just rolled out of bed, You're a salesperson. Okay? so you want to make sure that you're

showered, shaved or whatever it is you do to get ready for the day, put your make up

on, do your hair, and get ready to be presentable. The next thing you want to do is you want

to have with you - and it's going to be dark when people start arriving, people told me

that people would come early, and I had no idea how early they actually come. Okay?

They're going to come early, but make sure you have a hat for later on so that when the

sun comes up you can put your hat on. Make sure you have some sunscreen for when the

sun comes out, you're not going to have time to run back inside and do all this stuff.

So take this with you to the end of your driveway so you have it when you need it.

The second thing that you want to do is you want to bring (another good use for recyclable

grocery bags), you want to get some grocery bags so that when people buy stuff from you,

you can put it in a grocery bag, and send them on their way.

That way, they are not trying to carry a whole armful of trinkets right? Put it in a bag

for them and say "hey, here's an extra hand." Then now that they've got a free hand, they

can pick up something else and carry another bag and buy more stuff. It's awesome.

Another thing you want to make sure you have with you is a power cord. So that if you're

selling a curling iron, or an old DVD player or a toaster or whatever, that they can plug

it in and make sure it works before they buy it. Because when they buy it, you're going

to have a sale that's final. A sign that says "All Sales Final". This means

that you can't come back tomorrow and bring it back. Cause guess what? All sales are final.

And if you have a power cord, you can let them try it out before they buy it. That way,

there are no surprises for any of you. And also, I accept credit cards, so advertise

it. Let people know that you accept credit cards for those big items that you're selling.

All Sales Final. Do those few things and I tell you what, Not

only will you have a huge success at your yard sale, but those are just good ideas.

It's a good idea.
