I'm twenty five years old.

I'm thirty years old, and I still believe in Santa.

I live just but with a lot of snow, have a very big yard

我曾住在一個會下雪的地方，家裡有個很大的院子

and I remember one Christmas

而我記得有一年聖誕節

We woke up, and I don't know why we went outside.

我們起床，然後不知為什麼走到了戶外

We had to go outside for something.

我們大概是走出來要做某件事吧

And in the middle of my yard

然後，就在院子的中央

was a giant sleigh track

有一片很大的雪橇拖行的痕跡

and in front of that was reindeer hoof prints.

前面有馴鹿的腳印

and like three feet away from any directions whatsoever

而且離院子四周至少都有大概三呎那麼遠

So you had to like fly into the middle of the air

所以你只能用飛的，然後從天而降

The only explanation's flying into the middle of my yard, and landing.

唯一合理的解釋就是它是直接飛進院子中央降落的

Obviously we would do the mall. Santa Claus would go, and we would tell

我們會去百貨公司，聖誕老人也會來，然後我們會告訴他

Santa what we wanted for Christmas

我們想要什麼聖誕禮物

And there's one time when Santa called my dad by name.

然後有一次聖誕老人居然叫了我爸的名字

And he said "Chris, good to see ya!"

他說：「Chris，見到你真好！」

And we were all like "Dad! how did he... how did he know your name?"

我們都超驚訝的，「爸，他怎麼會知道你的名字？」

He was like "The magic of Christmas!"

他只說：「這是聖誕的神秘之處。」

He remembers.

他就是記得

When I was a kid, I was really anxious.

我小時候聖誕節時總是很焦慮

I was awake to wait for Santa Claus.

我徹夜未眠等聖誕老人來

So I went downstairs to check the Christmas tree; it was nothing.

當我走下樓去看看聖誕樹底下時，發現那裏什麼都沒有

So what I did next was I went upstairs. I went back to my bed.

所以我又回到樓上，躺回床上

And I'm like "Ok. I need to go back to sleep" But of course as a kid, I couldn't.

然後我想說「好吧，我應該要回去睡覺」，不過對小孩來說，這當然是做不到的

So I would like 15 or 20 minutes like really really trying.

所以我會花大概 15-20 分鐘，試著讓自己睡著

And you know what? I'm gonna check again 20 minutes later, of course.

你知道嗎？我在 20 分鐘後就又跑下去確認聖誕樹下有沒有東西

I went downstairs and right in there

我走下樓，然後禮物就在那

It was a bike, some video games and some stuff for my sister

有一台腳踏車、一些電動玩具和一些給我的妹妹的禮物

It was the whole couch on the whole Christmas down the Christmas tree was full of presents.

長椅上、聖誕樹下放滿了禮物

And I was like "How did that happen?"

我只能想「這到底是怎麼辦到的？」

When I was a kid, we did everything we could to try to always

當我還小的時候，我們總是千方百計地

...catch or find Santa.

想要證明聖誕老人存在

And when we did try to stay up and we did try to catch Santa.

我們的確有熬夜，也真的試著抓到聖誕老人

Every time without fail, we always fall asleep.

可是每次在聖誕老人來之前我們就睡著了

And when I woke myself up,

然後當我起床時

because I missed him again. I'll hear sleigh bell outside my window.

因為我又錯過了，沒有看到他。但是我可以聽到窗外傳來的鈴鐺聲

When my brother and I were really little,we were fighting like cats and dogs right before Christmas time.

當我和我的兄弟還小時，我們常在聖誕節前大打出手

And I don't remember what we were fighting about, but

我早就忘記我們到底為什麼要打架了，但是

we were just for endless going at it.

我們就是可以無止盡地吵下去

And my dad finally said "That's it!"

直到老爸終於受不了大喊「夠了！」

"I'm calling Santa!"

「我要打給聖誕老人了」

And so he went to the phone on the wall in the kitchen,

然後他走進廚房，牆上有支電話

grabbed it, just dialed it up. "Santa?"

他一把抓起來，撥號，然後說：「聖誕老人嗎？」

"This is Randy Golden here"

「我是 Randy Golden」

"I have two misbehaved children that I need you to speak with"

「我這有兩個不聽話的小孩，我需要你來跟他們說句話」

And my brother and I jaws dropped.

然後我跟他都張大了嘴巴

Speechless, could not even believe that Dad got Santa on the phone that quickly.

說不出話來，不敢相信老爸這麼快就連絡上聖誕老人了

He passed the phone to me. It's probably five years old. A scared little five-year-old talking on the phone with Santa..

老爸把電話給我。我那時大概五歲，一個嚇到的五歲小孩正在跟聖誕老人講電話！

He's telling me that I have to behave. We were angels the rest of the year.

他說我應該要乖乖的。之後那一年，我們都超乖的

So, I wake up in the morning.

有一天我早上起來

And I would legit see like muddy footprints.

我真的看到地上的泥腳印

all throughout the floor. And they were like these big footprints. They had like some chunks of dirt.

在房子裡都是，是很大的腳印，還黏著一塊一塊的泥土

Uh like an actual boot imprint.

看起來就是真的靴子腳印

So that's how I knew Santa was there.

這就是聖誕老人來過的證據

And I still believed that reindeer landed on the roof.

而且我還是相信馴鹿會降落在我家屋頂上

Sometimes I would see actual prints, like hoof prints, in the house as well.

有時我也會看到真正的痕跡，像是蹄印之類的，就在屋子裏面

So I was always a little weird out that there was a giant animal in my living room.

所以我覺得有點奇怪，是不是有隻很大的動物在我的房間裡

Santa's definitely real!

聖誕老人當然是真的阿

He's a spirit that brings joy and can be embodied in everyone and anyone.
