But I had this little bit of fear that 那時我心裡就有些恐懼 what would happen to me, how would I feel 不曉得什麼事會發生在自己身上 if someone attacks me, 要是遭遇攻擊該怎麼辦 but after that incident when I was attacked, 但經過這次事件後 that fear just went away. And as I said in my speech at the United Nations 如同我在聯合國演講時所言 that my weakness, my fear, 我的一切懦弱、恐懼與悲觀 and my hopelessness died on that day. And I became stronger than before. And now I strongly believe that nothing can stop me, 現在的我深信,再也沒有什麼困難能夠阻擾我 in this mission and this campaign of education, 我能夠繼續推動普及教育的使命 to say that girls deserve the right to go to school, 大聲疾呼女性也能享有受教權 and I--it's the love of people as well, 此外,正是因為大家給我的愛 that has encouraged me and helped me 鼓舞並幫助了我 not to think about what I have been through in my life. When I see people praying for me, 我看到大家為我祈禱 taking care of me and sending cards and letters every day, 照顧我,每天收到無數卡片與信件 it makes me stronger. It makes me stronger every day, and I feel that, 一天比一天更堅強,我覺得.. whatever happened to me, I should now forget about it 現在我應當遺忘個人苦痛 and continue my life with more courage and more work. [cheers and applause] 嗯... I am so glad that you came out of that experience 我很欣慰,你經歷這麼可怕的苦難後 as this person we are lucky to have you in the world, 還能變成這麼棒的人,有你,我們真的很幸運 because you're making such a difference. You were in a coma for how long? - At least a week. -至少一個禮拜 - And then it took you a long time to learn how to... - Yes. - Speak and walk -是的 -說話與走路 and everything again. 一切都得重頭學 - Then my parents came, and the doctors, 之後我父、母親來看我,還有醫生.. they would bring the cards that I had received, 他們帶來許多卡片 and I just could not believe it. 我真的難以置信 It was astonishing that-- 我太驚訝了 I'm going through this difficult situation 雖然我遭遇無比的磨難 but there's so much love out there, 卻能擁有這麼多的愛 and it's helping me to forget about 這讓我得以遺忘... all the pain that I'm going through. 個人所承受的一切痛楚 - Yeah, there was a lot of love, a lot of people, -沒錯,真的是許多的愛 and it really did raise awareness in a way 也讓許多人注意到這個議題 that never had happened before. Your parents are in the audience right now, 你的父、母親現在也在場 and I know that your dad empowered you tremendously. How did he do that? Well, my father always says, "Ask me what I did 是的,我爸爸常說「別問我做了什麼, but ask me what I did not do, and I did not clip her wings." So he has not clipped my wings. He has allowed me to fly, 他沒有限制我的自由,讓我得以展翅高飛 high as I can, and this is how we want parents to be, 這也是我們對父、母親的期待 to allow their children to fulfill their dreams, 能夠讓小孩實現自己的夢想 to achieve who they want to be. It's not that girls don't have the skill 並不是說,女孩天生沒有才能或是天賦 or don't have the talent to do something in their life. It's that they are stopped in society. So my father did not do that. He did not stop me, 但是我父親並沒有這麼做,他從不對我設限 and I'm really thankful to him; 這一點,我真的很謝謝他 also to my mother for giving me 也要感謝媽媽 this strength and this courage to go forward. A little bit to my brothers. A little bit. 也要「小小地」感謝兩個弟弟 [audience laughter] [全場爆笑] [cheers and applause] [歡呼、鼓掌] - A little bit. 「小小地」感謝 [cheers and applause] [歡呼、鼓掌] That is so well put, in every one of those things. I love your brothers, by the way. It was good dancing with you. It was really fun. 剛剛一起跳舞很好玩 [audience laughter] [全場爆笑] So you won the Nobel Peace Prize, 你贏得諾貝爾和平獎的殊榮 and how did you find out you won? - So I was in my chemistry lesson in school, 當時我在學校上化學課 and--just studying about atoms and those things-- 課程內容是原子之類的 and suddenly my teacher came and she surprised me. She said that "You have won the Nobel Peace Prize." 她說「你得了諾貝爾和平獎」 And I said, "Okay." 我回說「是這樣嗎」 [audience laughter] [全場爆笑] And then I said, "I want to finish my school," 之後,我說「我想要繼續上課」 and--'cause I am standing up for education, 這是我一直以來鼓吹的理念 and I have been given this award because I am fighting 之所以得獎,也是因為同樣的理由 for children's rights to go to school, 因為我不斷捍衛孩童的受教權 so I deserve this right 所以我理應享有同樣的權力 to study today in school, finish my school day, 能夠在學校上完所有課程 and then I'll go and have press interviews and stuff. - So I finished that day. -是的 -所以我那天如常上課 - Instead of going to talk to the press, 得獎後你沒有立刻召開記者會 you finished your school day. You just decide--well, and that's why you are who you are. 真是很像你的風格 [audience laughter] [爆笑] So your big--I think that what's important here 我想,很重要一點是... is that we take it for granted here, 我們對很多事都視為理所當然 that girls go to school, and that we are able to be educated, 像是女孩子能夠上學、每個人都享有受教權 but I think that that is really important for young girls here 我覺得很重要的是,讓年輕的女孩們了解到... to understand that that's not--that women and children 並不是所有女性與孩童都受到同等待遇 are not treated the same way in other countries. 有些國家就不一樣 - Well, I see children having this quality education, 嗯,我看到孩童享有不錯的教育 having all the facilities-- classrooms, science labs-- 擁有完善的設施,教室、實驗室等 but unfortunately, around this world there are countries 但不幸的是,其他國家的孩童 where children do not even have desks to sit 並沒有桌子可以寫功課 and they do not even have chairs. Some do not even have teachers in their schools, 有些人沒有老師 and some do not even have schools at all. And I really think that education helps you 我真心覺得,教育對你幫助很大 to get an identity. It helps you to know about your basic human rights. It helps you to discover about yourself, 幫助你探索自我 about your talents, about your skills, 發現自己的天賦與才能 and how you can help your community and your society. So I did not want to be deprived of that, 我並不想被剝奪這樣的權利 of that opportunity myself, 我自己如此想 and I want this for every child, 我希望其他小孩也是一樣 that no child should be deprived 所有的孩童 of the basic human right of education. One thing that I love about you, 我最欣賞你的一點是... you're meeting all these world leaders, and you're not shy. You're meeting all these world leaders and you say 與他們見面時 exactly what you think they should be doing. You met with President Obama, and you told him 與歐巴馬見面時,你和他說 he should stop flying drones. You just said that to him. 就這麼直接了當 - Well, him, as well as 嗯,對於歐巴馬總統以及... the Congress members I met in my last trip in June, 我6月時來訪會面的國會議員,我都是這麼說 and it's very important 很重要的是.. that you deliver your message to the right people. And if you say-- [audience laughter] 若是你說...[全場爆笑] - Remember that, so y'all go to him next time, okay? 大家要記得啊,下次都去找他 [audience laughter] [全場爆笑] - So if I, like-- if I feel shy 所以如果我有所保留 and if I think he would mind it, 若是我覺得他會介意 then these issues would never get highlighted. So it's telling the world, just reminding them of their duties. You're not asking to do something extra, 並不算太過分的要求 but you're reminding them that these are their responsibility. They need to listen to their peoples' voices. We want them to take action. We want them to do something, 人民想要他們付諸行動,為人民做些事情 and it's important that you highlight it to them. [cheers and applause] 是的,的確如此 [cheers and applause] [全場歡呼、鼓掌] 18 years old. 18 years old, I was very similar to this. 我18歲時也這麼棒 [audience laughter] [全場爆笑] The problem that I see, because I've watched the documentary, 我發現到一個問題..我看過你的紀錄片 and I've seen how many different places that you go to speak. Because you're 18 and you're shorter-- 因為你才18歲,身高不是太高 you're not an adult-sized person yet. 還不算完全長大成人 [audience laughter] [全場爆笑] There's podiums that are too tall for you, 有些講台你來說太高 so I got you something. So it has a quote of mine, that says: 上面有我的名言 "Under every great woman is a tiny stepstool." 「每個偉大的女人,腳下都有個小腳凳」 [audience laughter] And so... Now-- [cheers and applause] 現在這腳凳送你 - Thank you. [cheers and applause] 謝謝 [cheers and applause] [歡呼、鼓掌] Thank you. - Sure. Also, I know for your 18th birthday, 另外,我知道你18歲生日 there was something more important for you than gifts, 除了禮物外,對你來說還有更重要的事 and you wanted to give money 你想要捐款 to a school that you started, right? Well, I would like to-- this is an amazing thing. This is an iPad Air 2, 這是 iPad Air 2 and it has over 100,000 educational apps, 裡頭有超過100,000教育app and tens of thousands of textbooks 以及數萬本電子書籍 at your fingertips in here, 在指尖間便可任意取用 and I want to make sure all of your students in Lebanon 我希望,你的學校在黎巴嫩,裡頭的所有學生 have the best possible head start, 都不會輸在起跑點上 so they're going to get this as well. They're going to give you 200 of these.
