I went to the newspaper offices.

They were trying to keep the students informed after all the- you know, and

and I thought maybe they would know what was wrong with the library, but

When I got there, well, all the lights were out and it was just so still.

Except for this dripping sound.

Like somebody forgot to turn a faucet off, so, I went to go see what it was.

But then I slipped in something, and when I pushed myself up

there was just blood...everywhere.

And they were all lying there.

The editorial kids, the interns. All of them, dead.

Did you see anything? Anyone who might've done it?

There was no one.

And then I thought that whoever did it might come back, and so, so I ran, I just,

I just ran until I got back here.

Who would do this? They were- They were just some kids with the student paper

Not even a very good one. We used it to line our specimen cages. May they rest in peace.

Okay.

Okay so we'll call campus security.

Except for the part where the official position of the Bundespolizei is that Silas doesn't exist.

There's no one to call, and at this point we would settle for the Ghostbusters.

I thought-

I thought with the Dean dead and the fish trapped that things on the campus would be,

I don't know- better.

Except now there's nobody in charge and the Summers and the Zetas and the Alchemy Club all think

that they should be running the campus, which means that they're fighting again.

And between the earthquakes and half the faculty having fled things are starting to slip through the cracks.

Literally.

Apparently, last week, some of Professor Parson's anti-space leaked out of one of the physics buildings,

and temporarily shifted a chunk of the campus fifteen minutes into the future.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

We created a power vacuum. This is what always happens.

Well excuse me for not having lived through half of European history.

I was not expecting looting and anti-space and- and-

Rogue dracopyromaniacs.

And it's all our fault.

You cannot be serious.

We did this.

We killed the Dean and let the Anglerfish rise and then we just ran away.

Left everybody else here to deal with the mess.

And now there's turf wars, and lootings, and somebody just murdered the only people trying to do

anything about it.

Not...the only people.

Perry's right. We can't just run away again.

I started all of this.

Maybe Silas is weird, and creepy and-

perched precariously over a soul-sucking demigod, but we fought the Dean for this place.

And then we just, ran away.

We gave up and we shouldn't have.

Those kids at the newspaper, they could have been any of us.

So we are going to stay here and figure out what happened to them and we're not going anywhere until we do.

We're staying.

We're solving the murders,

and we're going to save Silas.

Oh I am so going to have to lie to my Dad.
