In this clip, I'd like to talk to you about questions you may be asked in a Cambridge English speaking test.

The speaking test is your chance to show the examiner the best you can do.

口說測驗是你可以向考官表達你最好一面的機會，

So it's important to give full responses to the examiner's questions instead of just one-word answers.

所以對考官的問題給予完整回答、而不是只回答一個字真的非常重要。

The examiner may ask you some personal questions.

考官可能會問你一些個人的問題，

For example, "Where are you from?"

比如說「你來自哪裡？」

"I come from Tokyo, Japan."

「我來自日本的東京。」

Or you can answer, "Tokyo, Japan."

或者你也可以回答「日本的東京。」

Which is the better answer?

哪個是比較好的回答？

That's right!

沒錯！

"I come from Tokyo, Japan." is the better answer here.

「我來自日本的東京。」會是比較好的答案，

Because you show a greater range of language.

因為你展現對語言掌握的範圍更廣。

Let's look at some more examples.

我們再來看一些例子，

How would you answer these questions?

你要怎麼回答這些問題？

"What is your favorite food?"

「你最喜歡的食物是什麼？」

"Why do you like it?"

「為什麼你喜歡它？」

"Is there something you really like to learn about?"

「有沒有什麼是你非常渴望學習的？」

"Why?"

「為什麼？」

"Have you got any plans for the weekend?"

「你周末有什麼計畫了嗎？」

"What are you planning to do?"

「你計畫要做什麼？」

Here are example answers for the questions.

這裡是一些範例答案：

"What is your favorite food? Why do you like it?"

「你最喜歡的食物是什麼？為什麼你喜歡它？」

"My favorite food is seafood."

「我最喜歡的食物是海鮮。」

"I really like seafood because it always seems special to me."

「我很愛吃海鮮，因為它對我來說滿特別的。」

"We didn't have much of it at home when I was young, so now I like it as a treat."

「在我小時候，家鄉沒什麼機會吃到海鮮，所以現在我喜歡把它當作給自己的犒賞。」

"I particularly like lobster."

The examiner is looking for a range of language and vocabulary, so this is your moment to shine.

考官想測你對語言跟字彙的掌握範圍，所以這是你大露鋒芒的好時機。

All Cambridge English speaking test assess your ability to communicate in a face-to-face situation.

所有的劍橋英語能力測驗都是在評量你在面對面情境下的英語溝通能力，

Candidates take speaking tests with one or two other candidates.

考生要跟其他一到兩位考生一起參與口說測驗，

All speaking tests are assessed face-to-face by two examiners,

even if the candidates take the computer-based exam.

Cambridge English believes that face-to-face testing is the best way to test communicative speaking ability.

Because even native speakers sometimes find that on-line speaking test can't recognize their accents.
