In English, conditionals are sentences with two parts. 在英語中,條件句是由兩部分組成的句子。 First, you have the if clause and a result clause. 首先是 if 子句和結果子句。 The result clause tells us what happens or what could happen depending on the conditions. 結果子句告訴我們根據條件會發生什麼或可能發生什麼。 There are four main types of conditionals, and each one is used for very different situations. 條件句主要有四種類型,每種類型用於不同的情況。 Let's break them down one by one. 讓我們逐一分析。 The first is the zero conditional. 第一種是零條件。 This is used for things that are always true, like facts or general truths. 用於指永遠真實的事物,如事實或一般真理。 For example, if you heat water to 100 degrees, it boils. 例如,如果把水加熱到 100 度,水就會沸騰。 Think of it like a scientific fact. 把它想象成一個科學事實。 If this happens, that always happens. 如果發生了這種情況,那總是會發生的。 It's straightforward because both clauses are in the simple present tense, and it's useful to talk about facts or rules, things that are always true. 這個句子簡單明瞭,因為兩個分句都是簡單現在時,而且它適用於談論事實或規則,即永遠正確的事情。 Next up, the first conditional. 接下來是第一個條件。 We use this to talk about real possible future situations, something that could happen if a certain condition is met. 我們用它來談論未來可能發生的真實情況,即在滿足特定條件的情況下可能發生的事情。 For example, if it rains tomorrow, we will stay home. 例如,如果明天下雨,我們就呆在家裡。 Here, you're talking about the future. 在這裡,你談論的是未來。 If the condition, rain, happens, the result, staying home, will follow. 如果下雨這個條件發生了,那麼呆在家裡這個結果就會隨之而來。 We use the first conditional to talk about plans or predictions. 我們用第一條件來談論計劃或預測。 The structure is using the simple present tense in the if clause and the simple future tense in the result clause. 該結構在 if 分句中使用簡單現在時,在 result 分句中使用簡單將來時。 The use of the future tense in the result clause can help you remember that this is used to talk about possible future events. 在結果分句中使用將來時態,可以幫助你記住這是用來談論未來可能發生的事件。 Now, let's look at the second conditional. 現在,我們來看看第二個條件。 This one is used for hypothetical or unreal situations. 用於假設或不真實的情況。 It's not about real life, but rather what could happen in an imaginary world. 它講述的不是現實生活,而是在想象世界中可能發生的事情。 For example, if I had a lot of money, I would travel the world. 例如,如果我有很多錢,我就會周遊世界。 This doesn't mean that you have a lot of money right now, but you're imagining what you'd do if you did. 這並不意味著你現在有很多錢,而是你在想象如果你有了錢會怎麼做。 It starts to get tricky now here with the use of the past tense and this would plus infinitive, because this doesn't have anything to do with the Finally, we have the third conditional. 現在,使用過去式和這個 would 加不定式開始變得棘手起來,因為這與 最後,我們有了第三個條件句。 This one is used for past situations that didn't happen. 這個用於描述過去沒有發生的情況。 We often use this to talk about regrets or things we wish we'd done differently. 我們經常用它來談論遺憾或希望以不同方式去做的事情。 For example, if I had woken up earlier, I would have caught the bus. 例如,如果我早些起床,就能趕上公車。 This means you didn't wake up early enough and as a result, you did not catch the bus. 這說明你起得不夠早,結果沒趕上公車。 These are used for situations that never happened and will never happen, but you're thinking about what if or if only. 這種情況適用於從未發生過也永遠不會發生的情況,但你考慮的是 "如果 "或 "如果只是"。 It's used to express regret or the wish to have done something differently in the past, but you'll never get the chance again, so it's never actually going to happen. 它用來表達悔恨或希望過去能做一些不同的事情,但你再也不會有機會了,所以實際上永遠不會發生。 Before we wrap up today's lesson, here's something important to remember about conditionals. 在我們結束今天的課程之前,有一些關於條件式的重要內容需要記住。 You can put the if at the beginning or the middle of a sentence when using conditionals. 使用條件式時,可以將 if 放在句首或句中。 For example, take our previous sentence. 例如,以我們前面的句子為例。 If I had woken up earlier, I would have caught the bus, but you could also say, I would have caught the bus if I had woken up earlier. 如果我早一點醒來,我就能趕上公車,但你也可以說,如果我早一點醒來,我就能趕上公車。 The meaning doesn't change. 意義不會改變。 Just keep in mind, if you use the if at the beginning of the sentence, that clause needs to be followed by a comma. 請記住,如果您在句首使用了if,則該分句後需要使用逗號。 If you have if in the middle of the sentence, you don't need a comma. 如果句子中間有 "如果",就不需要逗號。
