  • You can understand English, but when you try to speak to other people, the words just don't come to mind.

    你能聽懂英語,但當你試圖與其他人交談時,卻怎麼也想不起來那些單詞。

  • Does that sound like you?

    這聽起來像你嗎?

  • If so, I'm going to show you how to fix that problem in this video so that you can speak English easily at school, at work, with your friends, anywhere.

    如果是這樣,我將在本視頻中教您如何解決這個問題,這樣您就可以在學校、工作場所、與朋友在任何地方輕鬆地說英語了。

  • If that's your goal, I hope you'll watch this whole video because if you follow my advice, I promise that your English speaking skills will improve very quickly.

    如果這是你的目標,我希望你能看完整個視頻,因為如果你按照我的建議去做,我保證你的英語口語水準會提高得很快。

  • Let's get started. Most English learners make a huge mistake without knowing it, often for years.

    讓我們開始吧。大多數英語學習者都會在不知不覺中犯下一個巨大的錯誤,而且往往一犯就是好幾年。

  • They think that if they memorize lots and lots of words and grammar rules, they will eventually become fluent.

    他們認為,只要記住大量的單詞和文法規則,最終就能變得流利。

  • And so, they buy textbooks and courses and watch English movies, and maybe even read books in English.

    是以,他們購買教科書和課程,觀看英文電影,甚至閱讀英文書籍。

  • But after all that time and effort, they still find that it's hard to speak comfortably.

    但是,在付出了這麼多時間和努力之後,他們仍然發現很難舒服地說話。

  • They need to keep translating words and sentences in their head.

    他們需要在腦海中不斷翻譯單詞和句子。

  • So why is that? It's because they've learned English passively.

    這是為什麼呢?因為他們是被動學習英語的。

  • They're taking lots of information in, but they're only putting a tiny amount out.

    他們吸收了大量資訊,但只輸出了極少量。

  • They don't practice speaking out and writing out their thoughts.

    他們不練習說出和寫出自己的想法。

  • So when it comes time to talk with another person, their minds don't know what to say, and they get stuck.

    是以,當需要與他人交談時,他們的大腦不知道該說些什麼,從而陷入困境。

  • But you can absolutely change that by learning in a different way, a better way.

    但你完全可以通過不同的學習方式、更好的學習方式來改變這種狀況。

  • And I'm going to tell you how to do that right now. Now, as we said, there are many different ways to put English words and grammar into your brain.

    我現在就告訴你怎麼做。現在,正如我們所說,有許多不同的方法可以將英語單詞和文法輸入你的大腦。

  • You might watch YouTube videos or take a course or listen to podcasts.

    您可以觀看 YouTube 視頻、參加課程或收聽播客。

  • But how can you help those words come out?

    但是,如何才能讓這些話脫口而出呢?

  • Well, the first step is to focus on individual topics.

    那麼,第一步就是關注單個主題。

  • Don't try to learn all of English at once.

    不要試圖一次性學完所有英語知識。

  • It's too much.

    太多了

  • So, you might focus on talking about your family or work or food.

    是以,你可以專注於談論你的家庭、工作或食物。

  • Those are all different topics, right?

    這些都是不同的話題,對嗎?

  • And I want you to get a notebook or open a Google Doc.

    我希望你們拿個筆記本或打開谷歌文檔。

  • And at the top of the page, put the name of a topic that you want to speak about confidently.

    在頁面頂端,寫上你想自信地談論的話題名稱。

  • And let's say it's food.

    就說食物吧。

  • So on that page, you're going to practice building sentences about food that you might really say. So let's start with something very simple.

    是以,在這一頁上,你要練習造一些你可能真的會說的關於食物的句子。讓我們從非常簡單的內容開始。

  • I like pizza.

    我喜歡披薩。

  • Great.

    好極了

  • Easy.

    簡單。

  • Now we're going to build on it.

    現在,我們要在此基礎上再接再厲。

  • I like to eat pizza.

    我喜歡吃披薩。

  • We've added a verb.

    我們增加了一個動詞。

  • Excellent.

    好極了

  • Let's keep going.

    讓我們繼續前進。

  • I like to eat pizza for lunch.

    我喜歡中午吃披薩。

  • Okay, we've added some more detail.

    好了,我們又增加了一些細節。

  • And then what about, I like to eat mushroom pizza for lunch.

    然後呢,我中午喜歡吃蘑菇披薩。

  • And maybe you can be even more specific.

    也許你可以說得更具體一些。

  • I like to eat two slices of mushroom pizza for lunch.

    我喜歡在午餐時吃兩片蘑菇披薩。

  • Do you see what we're doing?

    你知道我們在做什麼嗎?

  • We're helping our brains to practice building advanced English sentences.

    我們正在幫助大腦練習構建高級英語句子。

  • And by taking the time to write this out, you're gathering a list of useful phrases that your brain can recall when you're talking about food.

    花時間把這些寫出來,你就收集了一份有用的短語清單,當你談論食物時,大腦就能想起這些短語。

  • So the next time someone asks you, "What do you like to eat for lunch?" You won't go, "I like pizza with," you'll simply say, "I like to eat two slices of mushroom pizza for lunch." It's easy. Now, how do you find the right words to build these kinds of useful sentences?

    所以下次有人問你 "你中午喜歡吃什麼?"你不會說 "我喜歡吃披薩",你只會說 "我中午喜歡吃兩片蘑菇披薩"。這很簡單。現在,你如何找到正確的詞語來造出這類有用的句子呢?

  • Well, let me show you.

    好吧,讓我演示給你看。

  • This is a completely free website called osnic.com, and it's an English collocation dictionary.

    這是一個完全免費的網站,名為 osnic.com,是一本英語搭配詞典。

  • So what we're going to do is type in a word here that we want to make a sentence with.

    是以,我們要做的就是在這裡輸入一個單詞,用它來造句。

  • And let's try lunch.

    我們來吃午飯吧

  • So we type it in, and then we get a list of words that are commonly used with lunch.

    是以,我們輸入這個詞,然後就會得到一個與午餐搭配的常用詞列表。

  • A cold lunch, a delicious lunch, a hearty lunch.

    冷餐、美味的午餐、豐盛的午餐。

  • And look down here, we've got a lunch box, a lunch break, a lunch date.

    看下面,我們有午餐盒、午休時間和午餐約會。

  • These are all phrases that English speakers use regularly, and you should practice adding them to your sentences.

    這些都是英語使用者經常使用的短語,您應該練習將它們添加到您的句子中。

  • I ate a hearty lunch this afternoon.

    今天下午,我吃了一頓豐盛的午餐。

  • Or my daughter brings a lunch box to school.

    或者,我女兒會帶一個飯盒去學校。

  • And this will help you learn new words like hearty and lunch box in a much more natural way.

    這將幫助你以更自然的方式學習新單詞,如 "酣暢淋漓 "和 "午餐盒"。

  • Because rather than just memorizing them from a list, you're connecting them to your own life experience, which makes it much easier to remember them when you're speaking. So you're building all these useful sentences about food or work or family, whatever it is.

    因為你不只是從列表中記住這些句子,而是將它們與自己的生活經歷聯繫起來,這讓你在說話時更容易記住它們。這樣,你就能造出關於食物、工作或家庭的有用句子,不管是什麼。

  • And once you come up with 15 or 20 of them, you're ready to start speaking about your topic out loud.

    一旦你想出了 15 或 20 個,你就可以開始大聲談論你的主題了。

  • And you're going to start by speaking to yourself.

    首先,你要對自己說。

  • And I know that might sound a little strange, but trust me, it's very helpful.

    我知道這聽起來可能有點奇怪,但相信我,這很有幫助。

  • So again, let's say your topic is food.

    所以,還是假設你的主題是食物。

  • You're going to have a conversation with yourself about food.

    你要和自己進行一次關於食物的對話。

  • You're going to ask yourself questions and then answer them.

    你要問自己問題,然後回答問題。

  • What food do I like?

    我喜歡什麼食物?

  • What food do I not like?

    我不喜歡吃什麼食物?

  • Why do I not like it?

    我為什麼不喜歡?

  • How does that food taste?

    食物味道如何?

  • And if you can't think of enough questions, just open up Chat GPT and say, "Ask me 20 questions about food," and you'll get a list.

    如果你想不出足夠的問題,只需打開 Chat GPT,然後說 "問我 20 個關於食物的問題",你就會得到一個問題列表。

  • There you go. Now your job here is to find ways to use all the different words and phrases that you've written down.

    就是這樣。現在,你的任務就是想辦法使用你寫下的所有不同的單詞和短語。

  • Try combining phrases, mixing words around, be playful with it.

    試著把短語組合起來,把單詞混在一起,玩一玩。

  • And over time, as you keep adding sentences to your notebook and speaking them out loud, you'll find that you start to feel comfortable talking about food or whatever it is because your mind now has these words and phrases to call on.

    隨著時間的推移,當你不斷在筆記本上添加句子並大聲說出來時,你會發現自己開始能自如地談論食物或任何事情,因為你的頭腦中現在有這些單詞和短語可以調用。

  • And they all come from experience, not from some list of random words.

    它們都來自於經驗,而不是隨意列出的單詞。

  • And if you want to go one step further with this, you can join my website for learners English with Brian.

    如果您想更進一步,可以加入我的布萊恩英語學習者網站。

  • I post new videos and learning materials every week.

    我每週都會發布新的視頻和學習材料。

  • And you can also join my private live streams and ask me all of your questions.

    你還可以加入我的私人直播流,向我提出你的所有問題。

  • If you use the link below, you'll get one month free.

    如果使用下面的鏈接,您將獲得一個月的免費服務。

  • And after that, it's just $5 a month.

    之後,每月只需 5 美元。

  • I hope to see you there. Okay, but what about talking to other people?

    希望能在那裡見到你。好吧,那和其他人哈拉呢?

  • How can we make that feel easy?

    我們怎樣才能讓這種感覺變得輕鬆?

  • Well, for most learners, the hardest thing about speaking English isn't that they haven't studied enough or that they don't know enough words.

    對於大多數學習者來說,說英語最難的地方並不是他們學得不夠多,也不是他們認識的單詞不夠多。

  • It's fear.

    是恐懼。

  • The fear of not knowing what to say or of saying the wrong thing.

    害怕不知道該說什麼,害怕說錯話。

  • And I've certainly felt that when I speak Mandarin or Arabic or Japanese with other people.

    當我和別人說國語、阿拉伯語或日語時,我確實感受到了這一點。

  • I get nervous.

    我很緊張。

  • But here's the thing.

    但問題是

  • Every mistake that you make speaking English will only help you get better.

    你在說英語時所犯的每一個錯誤都會幫助你進步。

  • And in fact, the only way to get better is by making mistakes.

    事實上,只有犯錯才能進步。

  • So don't put the pressure on yourself to be perfect.

    所以,不要給自己施加壓力,要求自己做到完美。

  • Embrace your mistakes.

    擁抱你的錯誤

  • Welcome your mistakes.

    歡迎你犯錯誤。

  • That's step one. Step two is to find a practice buddy.

    這是第一步。第二步是找一個練習夥伴。

  • English is the most widely spoken language in the world.

    英語是世界上使用最廣泛的語言。

  • So no matter where you live, with a little bit of effort, you can find someone to speak with.

    是以,無論您住在哪裡,只要稍加努力,就能找到可以交談的人。

  • You can search on Facebook groups or WhatsApp.

    您可以在 Facebook 群組或 WhatsApp 上搜索。

  • You can use meetup.com.

    您可以使用 meetup.com。

  • Anything.

    什麼都行

  • Just find a partner to practice with. And step three is to use these five words a lot.

    找個夥伴一起練習就可以了。第三步是經常使用這五個詞。

  • Who, what, where, why, and when.

    何人、何事、何地、何故、何時。

  • Pick a topic with your practice buddy and keep asking each other those five questions.

    和你的練習夥伴一起選一個話題,然後不斷地問對方這五個問題。

  • So if the topic is food, you might ask, "Who do you usually eat with?

    是以,如果話題是食物,你可以問:"你通常和誰一起吃飯?

  • What's your favorite dessert?

    你最喜歡什麼甜點?

  • Where do you buy groceries?

    您在哪裡買日用品?

  • Why don't you like Brussels sprouts?

    你為什麼不喜歡球芽甘藍?

  • When do you eat dinner?" Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

    你什麼時候吃晚飯?"諸如此類,不一而足。

  • Those five questions will give you all the practice you need to improve your speaking skills quickly.

    這五個問題將為您提供快速提高口語水準所需的所有練習。

  • So just keep asking them and keep going. If you enjoyed this video, please leave a comment and hit the subscribe button if you haven't already.
