I think in your case, you're a world-class content creator, and I think you should lead with the story first and product second.

My journey with tea was I started by liking tea, and then I developed a love for it while building David's Tea, and then was able to launch Firebelly, which is my pure passion, and develop product there.

I know you talked a lot about staying narrow, not spending too much money on stupid things like I have been doing on lawyer fees, but anything else that you can think of that would help me in this?

Give yourself flexibility, strong ideas loosely held, ask your customers, be ready to follow different direction than you originally had in mind, and just keep an open mind and enjoy the journey.

I mean, entrepreneurship, it often takes years to be an overnight success, and it can be a lonely journey, and you want to make sure that you enjoy that part of it, because if you don't, it's going to be real tough.

Well, that was by far the best conversation I could have had to help me out before starting this tea company.

David is just such a wealth of information, and it was so kind of him to take time out of his busy day to come and meet with me.

I guess it goes to show why people always stress so much about trying to find a mentor, someone who's done what you're trying to do, because even just that 30 minutes, I feel like it's set my chances up for success so much higher.

So the older that I get, the more I realize how critical mindset is to achieving anything in life.

And with starting this new tea company, I didn't know too much about tea come last year, but I believed I could learn it, start a business in it, and somehow achieve this wild goal of doing $1 million in sales.
