It's a small regional airport.

And in this episode I'm gonna be talking about when you should fly and when, maybe you should take the shinkansen because if you're coming from Tokyo, almost everybody will be coming via shinkansen.

We already see horses, which in this part of Okayama, there's a lot of wildlife, a lot of open space.

If you've got a and a mileage, you can get some miles by buying your things from there and a couple of other really nice restaurants, interesting.

So it's bigger than I thought it was, but it's not as big as most other restaurants.

My flight is in 30 minutes so we don't have a lot of time and from a distance you can take a look and see up there the sign on the front of the airport.

You see this, there's a really pretty red bridge and a little pond that goes across in a, I guess it's similar to a bonsai tree, a peaceful place to hang out if you've got a couple of hours to spare, you can come outside.

There's a bench up there on a little mound.

Okayama has got one of them.

I think it's, I always get them messed up and there's Momotaro who this airport is named after.

So the question is, when would you travel here?

I don't think we're gonna get far enough away to see that.

When would you take the shinkansen?

Well, if you're going to Okayama city, it makes a lot of sense.

It takes about three hours from Tokyo to get to Okayama city.

So that's kind of a long way.

But to get to Haneda airport takes about 30 minutes from anywhere in the city of Tokyo and a flight here is an hour.

So it's about half the time if you think about it.

However, if you're arriving into Okayama Airport, you have to consider taking the bus into the station and it's about a 40 minute ride from here to get into the station.

So you save about an hour by flying.

But then there's the time to get from plane to bus and all that.

Again, if you're just taking, if you're just going to Okayama station, Okayama City center, it makes a lot of sense to take the shinkansen.

I came because I was going to hit a zen in the countryside of Okayama and the airport is actually closer to that.

Here's Momotaro who this airport is named after and this statue.

I think it's almost the exact same one is in front of Okayama station.

The busses that go into the city over here towards the international terminal.

Again, China eastern airways uh korean airlines, Hong kong airlines and Tiger Air flew into here.

They're basically regional places.

But it's, it's still closed because china is not entering into Japan.

But you can see this is where you get the tickets for the airport limousines.

Peaches are very famous in Japan.

The cool thing about domestic airports is that if you do have water or tea you can bring them on, you don't have to dump them out for flights.
