may picture the Lycoris cafe you swear you could  almost taste those Japanese sweets turns out you  

might be able to although it won't be easy Lycoris  anime director adachi actually revealed they would  

often meet in cafes around the Skytree area in  Tokyo Japan here is where the prototype for the  

Japanese Cafe wasn't inspired from so I set off  for like a day trying to see if I could actually  

find this Rico Rico Cafe IRL I started  with the most obvious and actually went to a  

cafe called Lycoris it had a very lovely Vibe the  delicious sweets lean more towards Western rather  

than Japanese enjoyable and just not the equal  Cafe next up I actually ended up visiting my 20  

or 30 cafes near Asakusa and Sky tree I looked  and searched walking hours still no Rico Rico  

Cafe Insight the closest and I do mean closest  spot on Cafe was his Japanese shop I randomly  

found this one had almost the exact menu except  for like the dongle or the poop cake sadly this  

was closed by the time I reached it I've been  living in Japan for like five years so here's  

my best guess the rico rico cafe is very likely  a combination of the small parts from various  

cafes in the region the anime doesn't highlight  it but I would also toss in bars too the Dango  

you see is straight out of the street venders  in Asakusa which I would highly recommend the  

exterior in size of the cafe instead it looks like  cafes I visited outside of Tokyo so unfortunately  

it's a shame it doesn't actually exist  although I wouldn't mind seeing a collab Cafe

you may have noticed quite a few flowers sprinkled  throughout the Lycoris anime from the sunflower  

and the ending or the game Takina's name herself  the lovely flowers on Chisato's kimono and of  

course the Lycoris itself also known as the red  Spider Lily which you've definitely seen another  

anime like Tokyo Ghoul, Dororo, and the god tier anime  for newcomers Demon Slayer Legend says when you  

meet someone that you may never meet again  the red spider lilies will Bloom along the  

path perhaps this is why Japanese people often  use these flowers and funerals you might find  

it funny that I actually came across a bunch in  the Lycoris Cafe search and even at a nearby bar  

right outside did you happen to notice the  yellow variants too the golden Spider Lily  

this one is not to symbolize light happiness  or something lifelike like the Halo of angels

one of the fun parts from the Lycoris anime is  seeing Chisato and Friends kicking ass around  

Tokyo but did you know you could actually visit  a lot of these locations yourself when they were  

playing bodyguard for Stephen Hawkings you saw  them go to the Imperial Palace Garden one of the  

big highlights was also Asakusa which included  the kaminarimon, the guardian station there the  

wonderful shops which are definitely going to  be crowded now that Japan's opened up and the  

Sensoji Temple the red building you saw them  visiting was the Tokyo Station in the middle  

of Tokyo recall the scene of Chisato and Takina are  being awfully friendy that's kinisha Park when  

that train station that had that unfortunate  incident is actually oshiaga station you saw  

them bust out their moves at this aquarium which  also happens to be in Sky Tree speaking of which  

the anime likes to highlight that quote-unquote  radio tower which is an obvious stand for Sky Tree  

itself Chisato and Takina's voice actors actually  constantly mentioned Sky Tree in the web series on  

the flip side the other big ass red tower being  built into stand in for the Tokyo Tower right  

here Chisato's having the final showdown versus  Majima please kick some ass and survive Chisato

could you imagine Chisato running around and  actually using live bullets how different would  

that anime be surprise surprise originally the  Lycoris anime was supposed to be much darker  

when interviewed the Lycoris recoil director  Adachi revealed this and a couple of other  

interesting things so this gloomy anime with  orphan girls raised to be a little assassins  

really makes you think of Gunslinger doesn't  it which Adachi likes and even said he owns  

a DVD which is probably why he thought they  couldn't succeed in that genre so they went  

into a different direction after he joined the  challenge now became how to deliver this story  

with children holding guns shooting people but  in a positive way it's actually interesting to  

think about how the bride and cheerful  Chisato almost never came into being but  

thanks to Adachi you got this goofy Lycoris waifu  oh yes I'm this close to buying a figure foreign

take on odd requests here and there like visiting  a kindergarten using their super special awesome  

skills at a language school or just delivering  coffee to the Yakuza but did you know you could  

actually also submit your own questions to be  answered on the official website here's a few  

examples of previously asked questions and  replies to Chisato regarding Chisato's line  

about doing what you want with all your strength  this person in particular didn't know what they  

wanted to do please help here's Chisato's response  if there's anything you want to do even if it's a  

small thing why not give it a try like I want to  drink amazing coffee I want to go to the aquarium  

putting effort into everyday things will make it  fun try to move without overthinking it sounds  

just like her to Takina recently I've been on the  PC and phone way too much what should I do this  

person is definitely watching too much tiktok Takina's replying I also use a computer a lot  

in the Lycoris Cafe for account so I totally  get it I actually got kurumi to look into it  

and it seems I exercises are a great idea I'm  actually gonna try to do it myself when Chisato  

isn't around I wonder what else she's up to  when she's out there isn't around to Mizuki  

it's not that I don't want to get married but I  think I missed the timing what should I do music  

is amazing reply girlfriend let's do our best  together there's no such thing as missing your  

timing your fateful partner is just around the  corner if we don't give up we'll get our chance  

of course she will get the marriage question  to Kurumi hello I'm a third year Middle School  

student I have to study for the high school  entrance exam but I'm not motivated at all  

how do I find motivation Kurumi's reply just to  be clear there is no such thing as motivation in  

Neuroscience motivation comes only after taking  action it seems he cannot start anything unless  

you take the initial step even if he do not  feel it just sit down at your desk and begin  

do it. Mika actually got a similar  question about studying for an exam his  

reply drinking coffee is a good way to improve  concentration sugar is good for your brain so I

not come to the rico rico cafe since 9000 IQ  move to promote your own Cafe freaking love it

throughout the Lycoris Recoil anime you saw so  many delicious things they were eating at that  

cafe almost makes you want to go there in person  but did you know they actually have an official  

list of what the Lycoris Cafe offers if you want  their special coffee blend about four dollars a  

dollar discount if you buy the sweets or in case  you're trying to limit your caffeine intake there  

is a tea five dollars a discount here too you  could get the kyodai Dango set or sibling set  

for five dollars there's anko matcha and  mango perhaps I just had a mango this past  

weekend these are delish if you're feeling  a little peckish why not get the Dango and  

the doriaki burger six dollars not exactly what  you were picture when thinking about a burger or  

perhaps you'd be interested in the ohagi scent  six dollars this is actually a small Roy small  

covered in sweet paste wanna have some right now  honestly considering all the pricey Tokyo cafes  

this Lycoris Cafe is actually pretty reasonable  and since I know you're wondering they did update  

the two bonus entrees as the anime went on first  off the special elegant parfait 12 and you might  

remember the infamous hot chocolate parfait aka  the dookie Sunday 12 dollars too and yes some  

Japanese fans did try to recreate this toilety  sensation I don't know about you but I still want  

the dookie one all over my face it wouldn't  be different than when I eat my girlfriend

one of the really fun things I enjoyed about  this Lycoris anime is that it was really just  

fun watching it weekly Cliffhanger to Cliffhanger  there's no freaking spoilers that bang you on  

YouTube left and right on Twitter or Tick Tock  that's right Lycoris Recoil is an original anime  

there's no manga no light novel which means it's  all about the merch sales you know how much I love  

figures and thankfully there is a little Chisato  nendroid although they've already revealed a scale  

figure I'm not fully committed yet until I see the  ending so I'm waiting on this did you happen to  

catch Chisato's phone case design that's right you  could own it yourself too get that adorable cute  

little owl and I think like a Sunday or flower  bouquet they got pretty much all the iPhones  

sorry Android weebs in case you're looking too big  a little bit more fashionable or anywhere to like  

Anime Expo go ahead and get your favorite waifu on  your chest let me know are you on team Chisato or  

Takina although if you're a fan of something  that's much more low-key how about the red  

spider little shirts which yes they did appear in  the anime technically the mid episode cart white  

or black not sure which do these shirts come in  triple XL asking for a friend for some Cafe guns  

you could actually get a little stand for the Rico  Rico Cafe it's like this adorable little clip for  

those of you that didn't skip the ending you could  actually get four different designs based on it  

I'm definitely eyeing the Summer Festival one and  did someone say beer? oh I'm sorry it's actually  

just bottled Lycoris coffee for about nine dollars  you could get your hands on this coffee collab  

kinda pricey but they know I'm a sucker you  could get coffee beans too by the way foreign

you may think of Japanese schoolgirls running  around and shooting the hell out of people  

it's like John Wick makes anime but let's go  back in time did you know about the Lycoris  

anime's very clever marketing they actually  didn't focus on them blasting people at all  

the original anime trailer only confirmed this  Cafe setting think something like isekai shokudou  

essentially this cute girl is doing cute type  of things Cafe anime what's your order we got  

recommendations even the description was  quite playful we don't just got delicious  

coffee or sweets from deliveries to drop-offs  that may be far away to Exterminating zombies  

or Titans whatever your worry may be feel free  to contact us even the character trailers show  

no action for Chiefs that those teaser just a  cafe being cheerful welcome to the Lycoris Cafe  

even kurumi got a freaking character trailer  which in hindsight pretty much spoils that  

she survived that gun fight you know Kurumi  literally meaning Walnut in Japanese even  

the Japanese were completely cut off guard oh  it's just another cute girl daily life anime  

freaking hilarious in hindsight do you think they  should do more of this clever type of marketing

forget about the action scenes you may load  the anime just from watching Chisato and  

Takina interact it gets even more interesting  when you find out how their characters were  

initially designed especially Chisato who was  completely different which one of the two do  

you think was created first if you said your  wife of Takina you're right Takina's character  

actually ran through the initial anime without  much change the name Takina is actually also  

the name of a flower so keeping with tradition  asaurora mentioned that all his female Heroes  

of his works are named after flowers go figure  bonus fact happy birthday takina August 2nd on  

the flip side you have Chisato who was completely  different in the early stages she was a Simpson  

type of character with this gyaru element  to her it was planned that Chisato would  

eventually soften up as she interacted with  Takina the Chisato you know now is pretty much  

a different person according to asarura  it would be difficult to express Chisato  

Lively cheerful an animated personality  and writing she's a character that could  

really only be expressed in anime since she's so  charmful happy birthday Chisato September 23rd

and since I know you're wondering Jerry how about  the rest of the Charming Lycoris Cafe cast first  

off your favorite blonde loli Kurumi it seems  Adachi has a thing for the young girl type of  

characters you may notice a strikely resemblance  to another blonde lowly from a different anime  

he actually admitted he tried his best to change  it up but Twitter still made the comparison then  

for the older Mizuki she originally didn't have  glasses at the beginning but out of the four main  

Cafe girls they wanted one with glasses she spent  to be this portrayed with its mature intelligent  

older lady one who wants to get married as soon  as possible and loves to drink come pie to that  

then for your favorite Mika it was decided early  on that Mika would be a black character they  

actually had a wonderful time designing his firmly  realistic look the thing was imiki only ever had  

experience drawing younger characters so he did  tons of research he absolutely was determined  

to have Mika wear a kimono bonus flag Mika's  birthday was on July 13th I just love that he  

can actually hear she's at those voice actors  singing happy birthday to him on the radio
