I'm currently eight weeks pregnant.

And in my first trimester, it took three months of trying to make it happen.

And I have to be honest, I was very discouraged because I had no idea that I can take up to a year to actually conceived for some people.

And so far, nothing was happening.

This was the month I was pregnant and didn't know it.

I literally thought my period was about to start.

And of course at three months of trying because I was always told by family and friends it'll happen fast.

I was literally conditioned to believe that fast meant one try when in reality a normal amount of time for conception is six months to a year.

So in this clip I was being so dramatic, so emotional and super unaware that not getting a positive test yet was normal.

But as a woman, we can't help but jump to the worst when it comes to trying to conceive.

I feel like I waited so long.

But I mean I'm glad that I waited so long to start trying because we're in a really good place right now and we weren't before and especially like financially and emotionally and just settled into our marriage and I feel like this is a good time to start trying.

My pregnancy tests are so expensive and I went through so many of them and I regret it because I was like trying to see if I can get like an early results and I did everything right.

We headed to a new place for dinner right after and after a stressful few weeks I decided to, yep, have a glass of sangria.

I really didn't think I was pregnant.

So I had a bit of a naive moment here.

I don't know what compelled me to take a test the next morning, but something inside of me was saying to do it, it was almost like my body and soul knew but I refused to believe it, seeing things, seeing things.

My mind was completely lost so I didn't film this, but I ran upstairs to tell my sleeping husband made him worry something was wrong and started yelling, I'm pregnant and you can guess how excited and happy he was after the initial scare everyone Okay my heart's pounding because I wanted to take another test, but I just wanted to take a digital test.

Later in the week we had some questions for my doctor.

So my husband and I went to chat with her around week five just to confirm and do some health checks.

It was wild to see a little sack growing inside my stomach but it was definitely there and I was as healthy as can be okay.

I have a lot of questions to ask my doctor when it comes to diet and medications and things like that.

I also have been seeing a dietician and general doctor who I feel really helped me conceive with the right vitamins and thyroid medication.

So I of course went to her to get a second blood test and do some more checks.

This is the first time that I'm shopping for like actual baby stuff, even though it's like super early, a lot of people are like, you should wait and just wait to see what happens.

But I don't know, I'm kind of in the present moment and excited in the moment and I want to go look at baby stuff for the first time.

But living abroad and going through this first trimester alone has not been easy, which is why I chose to share the news with friends and family.

Yeah, A lot of my friends who were pregnant said that they wish they could have enjoyed the first trimester more instead of constantly living in fear and fight or flight mode.

While these moments of fear do come up and are valid and early pregnancy, I choose to give myself permission to feel excited in this moment, to celebrate that my body was able to produce a human being.

I wake up every morning and say, I trust my body, an affirmation that gets me through most days in this early stage.
