  • Hi everyone! This is Jennifer from Tarle speech  with your two for Tuesday. These are two words  

  • that are pronounced exactly the same way. They  have different spellings and different meanings.

  • Our words today are steal: which means  to take without permission or a bargain.

  • And steel: a strong metal used in construction  or to prepare yourself to do something different.

  • Let's take a look at our words four  little sounds today. So to say these  

  • words correctly start with the s. Make sure  if you have the tendency to say eh steal,  

  • to just take an extra second to get that  air going, and keep it going for the s.

  • Then touch the tip of your tongue to the  back of your top front teeth for that  

  • t sound. Then smile - high flat tongue for that  

  • e and then touch the tip of your tongue to  the back of your top front teeth for the l.

  • steel steal steel steal 

  • steel steal steel steal

  • And now for a sentence:

  • The steel worker tried to steal a moment of  rest since his job was so physically difficult.
