  • how you doing everybody welcome to Hakone.

  • This in front of us is where we're staying for the night.

  • This is the hotel de Yama or Yaman Hotel in japanese and it's a very nice hotel with some history to it.

  • Also on the observation deck you're gonna get a really beautiful view of Mount Fuji right at sunset.

  • You can see there is the lake here in Hakone.

  • This is one of the more popular tourist destinations.

  • A beautiful getaway from the city of Tokyo.

  • And we're gonna take you inside.

  • We have, we have access to show you the room, the lobby and a lot of the really nice places here.

  • It's um from the town.

  • It's not a very far walk.

  • There's a bus that takes you from um marijuana or from Hakone Yumoto, which is the main train station stop.

  • And I don't know you gotta go up up a really steep hill to get to the, to the lakeside town here.

  • Let's go inside.

  • Oh there's a restaurant and the food looks pretty good.

  • We're gonna be eating the washer or the western breakfast tomorrow morning.

  • Mhm.

  • All right, we have the temperature check.

  • I checked out.

  • Okay.

  • Yeah.

  • So this is the lobby, this is where we checked in A couple of hours ago.

  • The check in time is three PM.

  • And over here they have a board that lays out the history uh Iwasaki Baron Baron Iwasaki who was the residents of his right here.

  • Here's a picture of him on the wall.

  • He's no longer living here.

  • I'm not, we're not quite sure exactly how this became a hotel but we do know that his His era was from 1911, The Taisho era and it goes all the way over, sorry, that's the magi era.

  • That's right.

  • And it goes all the way to 1948 here.

  • This is when this became a hotel.

  • So from 1948 on three years after World War II, this is a place that you can come and relax and enjoy the fresh air.

  • Of course, I just wanted to point out this in 2006, became an ensign.

  • So they have the onsen water, the hot spring waters here flowing.

  • So can I and I are gonna be enjoying that tonight for sure.

  • There's a lot of golf courses and leisure stuff to do here.

  • Check it out.

  • There's the Baron playing golf but I like that they put the history uh in front of the hotel and you see kind of that feeling.

  • The Maji era, the Taisho era from generations maybe before right before your grandfather perhaps.

  • I like that feeling.

  • It kind of reminds me of a lodge really thick walls there.

  • Check out this lounge you can visit.

  • Mhm.

  • Come on.

  • So this is the outside um from the lounge, it's really pretty.

  • Check it out straight ahead.

  • You have Mount fuji.

  • This might even be a better view from upstairs.

  • I don't know.

  • What do you think?

  • I think I can zoom in a little bit more.

  • 321.

  • Whoa.

  • Alright let's get to the room here going.

  • So there's the smell of burning wood.

  • Okay.

  • Mhm.

  • Mhm.

  • So I'm in room 216.

  • Mhm Okay, mm hmm.

  • Hey leo, welcome to the room.

  • Check it out.

  • The bathroom.

  • Very nice, very clean.

  • There's a bathtub here on the other side.

  • The onsen.

  • They do have an onsen bath as I said before.

  • Here's the room, very wide angle of it.

  • Mhm Comfortable.

  • It's got a um kind of an older style to it because this is this, this lodge goes all the way back to the major period as you see the history to 1911.

  • I like the fact that gave us a baby crib and this one's a little bit bigger but I think Leo prefers to sleep with us on bed.

  • Yeah, maybe let me take you really quickly to the balcony.

  • This is the view going all the way back to Baron Iwasaki and probably had something similar.

  • You can just see the corner of Mount Fuji there and high season is May and at that time this is all blooming.

  • This is the best time to probably be at this particular hotel but you know there's also golden week in May uh april end of april in the beginning of May.

  • Probably really crowded then but I'm pretty happy with the room.

  • It's comfortable.

  • Alright, let's go go to the observation deck.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Mhm.

  • They didn't, maybe you don't like just just carry him.

  • It's quiet.

  • You don't need a jacket all inside.

  • Yeah, she doesn't know she's not been to the observation deck but it's it's all it's all covered and it's it's really nice because in the winter of course it's gonna be way too cold.

  • Leo is Yeah, you should have a mask masks on.

  • We have to go up some stairs.

  • Yeah, I think I do this way here.

  • Yeah, I have the key right here.

  • Mhm Okay.

  • All right.

  • Hi, good point.

  • Yeah, it's better with maybe we could take an elevator.

  • I actually went up here by I went up here originally by the stairway but Hi.

  • Alright, I think we're here.

  • You ready?

  • All right.

  • It should be really nice because the sun is setting as we speak.

  • Okay.

  • Oh that's right on the fourth there's the the spot tonight.

  • It says here, observatory on the upper floor is only for guests staying at the hotel that includes you because you're watching with me.

  • Alright, here we go.

  • The steps are really steep.

  • This reminds me of Oji chan's house.

  • Mr societies house.

  • He had steps that were you know like grandparents house back in the The 1950s.

  • They all had these really super steep steps, they don't make them like that anymore.

  • Oh now there aren't a lot of people right now staying at the hotel because it's a weekday, it does get a little bit busy on the weekends and the price of the room.

  • It fluctuates based on the season, but it does come with two meals breakfast and whoa, there you go.

  • Mhm.

  • There you go.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Okay, beautiful.

  • Yeah, there's Mount fuji right in the center, fuji is right in the middle.

  • Look at that.

  • See, you don't have to go outside to enjoy it and you can see the sunset just over the mountains there.

  • Mm hmm.

  • And there's the village, the old village over there where the boat is, there's a pirate ship.

  • You can see that in the distance.

  • It, it just came back into the dr and there's, there's actually a pier that goes out into the lake where the boat will stop for this hotel.

  • That's really interesting to, I like this place.

  • We're going to have watched you go tomorrow, is it?

  • Or I think you may be better because the restaurants, it looks pretty nice.

  • Yeah.

  • I don't know what it is, japanese cuisine.

  • You Shoko is western cuisine.

  • So I kind of preserve, prefer the western really.

  • That's good service.

  • So it's a family friendly hotel as you can see here.

  • Um, we're pretty, we're pretty happy with staying here.

  • Again, we haven't really left too much over the last because we couldn't go to the U.

  • S before.

  • So this is a really nice day tomorrow.

  • I'm gonna be doing some live streams taking you into the town.

  • Um, the first livestream will be taking place around 9 30 in the morning I believe I'm taking you down the old Hokkaido highway?

  • Which is pretty unique because now it's route one, you can see the cars going um uh you know, it's a highway taking you from Tokyo to Kyoto, the old Hokkaido highway.

  • But through here, because you had to go up that really steep hill, they actually have preserved parts of the old Tokyo highway from the Edo period.

  • So we get a chance to take a look at that.

  • I'm super excited about this tomorrow and you're gonna be joining me.

  • Apparently the signal is strong enough to live stream there and we'll get a chance to see some of the history, but also some of the artwork, some of the craft, some of the gifts, some of the things that you can get from Hakone, it's gonna be a lot of fun.

  • I hope you can join me for those live streams.

  • Yeah.

  • And we're gonna have a nice dinner now.

  • So what do you think of the hotel like it?

  • Yeah, it's very comfortable.

  • It's really old fashioned old fashioned style.

  • I like, I like that.

  • Yeah, So quiet.

  • Yeah, there's Mount Fuji there.

  • I will see you tomorrow in a live stream in Hong kong in Hakone.

  • But if you have any questions, leave me a comment below.

  • I'd like to hear from you?

  • Let me know what you think?

  • Have you been?

  • Have you been to Hakone before.

  • Do you have any memories of this place?

  • Um, anything I should be on the lookout for tomorrow's livestream.

  • Let me know, and I will see you then, bright and early.

  • Bye bye.

  • Everybody.

how you doing everybody welcome to Hakone.
