I'm Esther in this video, I'm going to talk about the two similar and sometimes confusing english verbs say and tell say and tell have similar meanings but they are used in different ways.

Let's start with say it is an irregular verb.

我們先說說它是一個不規則動詞。

So the past tense form is said.

所以說是過去式的形式。

It means to speak express something in words or to tell someone something.

它的意思是用語言表達東西或告訴別人一些事情。

Let's look at some example sentences.

讓我們來看看一些例子的句子。

The first sentence says, I'm sorry, what did you say?

第一句話說，我很抱歉，你說了什麼？

Maybe I couldn't hear you but I want to know the words that you spoke.

也許我聽不到你的聲音，但我想知道你說的那些話。

So I say, what did you say?

所以我說，你說什麼了？

The next sentence is my mom said hi, I'm reporting the words that she spoke.

下一句是我媽媽說你好，我在報告她說的話。

She said hi now I will talk about tel it is also an irregular verb.

The past tense is told.

講的是過去式。

It means to say something to someone, especially when giving information or instructions.

Let's look at some examples.

The first sentence is he told his mom that he was tired.

He shared this information with his mom so we can use told, he told his mom that he was tired.

The next sentence says Terra told john that she loved him again.

Terra told or gave information to john that she loved him.

There are two sentences in one of the sentences we use the verb say and the other one we use tell, take a moment to think about where we should use say and tell A says did you blink that you liked her?

Remember for say something comes after we say something in this case that something is that you liked her.

B says no I blamed her that I loved her for the verb.

We tell someone in this case her comes after the blank.

So the answer is tell however we need to use the past tense.
