The correct sentence is: "Let's go to KFC to get some chicken.” 一、正確的說法是「我們去肯德基吃雞肉。」 The incorrect sentence is: "Let's go to KFC to get some chickens.” 錯誤的說法是「我們去肯德基吃隻雞。」 Unless you're talking about whole chickens, you'd just say "chicken" because meat is uncountable. 除非你是在說全雞,不然我們會說「雞肉」,因為肉類不可數。 This is just confusing for chicken meat 只有雞會有這個容易搞混的問題, because most other meat names are different from the names of the animal that meat comes from. 因為大多數其他肉類與其動物名稱都不同。 Beef comes from cows. 牛肉叫 beef。 Pork comes from pigs. 豬肉叫 pork。 But chicken comes from chickens. 但雞肉就叫 chicken。 If you want to talk about the parts of a chicken, like the wings or legs, these are pieces of chicken. 如果你想表達雞的部位,如雞翅或雞腿,這些都是雞肉部位。 Next, the correct sentence is: "Thanks always for helping me.” 接下來,正確的說法是「一直很感謝你幫我。」 A related sentence with a very different meaning is: "Thanks anyway for helping me.” 一個意思非常不同的相關句是「無論如何,謝謝你幫我。」 If you want to say thank you to someone for helping you many times, you'd say: "Thanks always.” 如果想對多次幫助你的人表示感謝,會說:「一直很謝謝。」 It's like, "Thank you for always helping me," or "Thanks for all of the help you've given me.” 比如,「謝謝你總是幫助我」或「謝謝你幫我的這些忙。」 But when you use "Thanks anyway," you're saying that the person was NOT able to help you, 但「無論如何,謝謝」是表達雖然對方幫不上你, but you still want to thank them for their time or attention. 你還是很謝謝他們願意花時間跟心力。 For example, if I ask someone for directions and they don't know where to go, I can thank them for their time by saying, "Thanks anyway.” 例如,如果我向人問路,但他不知道該怎麼走,還是可以說「不管怎樣,謝謝您」感謝對方花寶貴的時間。 This would be correct and polite. 這樣說既正確又兼顧禮貌。 But if the person DID help me, I'd just say, "Thanks.” 但如果這個人確實幫到你了,就說「謝謝」就好。 Only when someone is helping you often would you use, "Thanks always.” 只有對方經常幫助你時,才會說「一直很感謝」。 Next, the correct sentence is: "Thank you for your cooperation.” 接下來,下個例子的正確說法是「謝謝您的協助。」 The incorrect sentence is: "Thank you for your copulation.” 錯誤的說法是「感謝您的交配。」 These two words do sound very similar. 兩個詞的確聽起來很像。 "Cooperation" means working with other people, 「Cooperation」是與他人合作的意思, but "copulation" is a formal term for having sex. 但「copulation」是發生性關係的正式術語。 So, be VERY careful with these two. 所以,一定要加倍小心。 Remember "cooperate" as "co," meaning "with," 記住,cooperate 的 co 是「一起」得意思, and "operate," which means to do some kind of action. 而 operate 則是「操作、執行」的意思。 Usually, when you want to ask customers or people to do something in a polite way, 通常,想禮貌的請求客戶或他人做某事時, you'd thank them for their cooperation. 會感謝對方的協助。 But you probably wouldn't thank them for copulating. 但大概不會感謝他們交配。 Next, the correct sentence is: "Time to eat, children.” 接下來,下個正確說法是「吃飯了,孩子們。」 The incorrect sentence is: "Time to eat children.” 錯的則是「吃小孩時間到。」 Funny how one little comma makes a VERY big difference in meaning. 差一個小小的逗號,意思差很多。 With the comma, you're talking to someone. 有逗號,是在對某人說話。 Here, you're telling some children that it's time to eat. 這邊的情況是,你在跟孩子們說「該吃飯了。」 But without the comma, you're saying it's time to eat some children. 但沒有逗號,就會變成「吃小孩時間到。」 Notice how my pronunciation is also different: 仔細聽語調差異。 "Time to eat, children." "Time to eat children.” 「吃飯了,孩子們。」「吃小孩時間到。」 Finally, the correct phrase is, "Executive Board Room." 最後一個,正確說法是「行政董事會議室」 The incorrect phrase is, "Executive Bored Room.” 錯的則是「行政無聊會議室」 These two sound the same, but a board room is where people, like the board members of a company, meet. 發音聽起來一樣,但董事會議室是,比如說,公司董事會成員開會的地方。 A bored room, if such a place existed, would be a room for people who feel uninterested, or have nothing to do. 如果真的存在「無聊會議室」,那會是個讓無聊或無所事事的人用的房間。 Some board room meetings might be boring, but don't get these confused when you write! 雖然董事會會議也可能很無聊,但切記寫作時不要搞混了! Let me know which one of these was your favorite in the comments below. 下方留言讓我知道你最今天提到的哪一個例子。 Give this video a like if you want to see more, and be sure to share it with others who'd enjoy it! 如果想看更多,請按讚這支影片,也別忘了分享!
