字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 Welcome to Plum Landing. Okay, the others will be here soon so let's keep looking for animals. Gotcha! Nothing here. Or here. Try up. Aha! That's a Clark's nutcracker. And it's... burying pinecone seeds? Weird. What kind of tree is that? White bark pine. Each year, nutcrackers bury thousands of white bark pine seeds in order to save them for the winter. So the tree provides food for the nutcracker, and the nutcracker plants seeds, some of which turn into trees. That is like totally smart. (thunder) Yikes. Where is everyone? Gab, hey! (both yell) Look out! What's going on? We're being dive-bombed by a goshawk! (panting) Whoa! (squawking) Here he comes! Duck! (squawking fades away) So what's a goshawk? It's the greatest flyer in the woods. It can zoom really low, zip in and out of trees and it's fast. And it does not like when you mess with its nest, Cooper. Yeah, well, making chipmunk noises in the woods wasn't a brilliant idea either, Oliver. Would you two quit arguing and get up here? There's a storm coming. Tell that to the goshawk! Can you scare it away? Maybe you should try to sound like a bear. So where's Clem? She should be here by now. I don't know where she is. ♪ ♪ Hey, guys. Oh, isn't this pretty? Those lightning bolts are amazing. Yeah, amazingly close. Look, Plum sent the bubble! Woo-hoo! Cool! Yeah! Ollie and Coop better get here soon. (screaming) Open the bubble! Open the bubble! Look! They found a bear! (bear growling) "Make a sound like a bear," she says. Whoa, that was a close call. Here, this will warm you up. Thanks, Plum. So, I don't get it. We all went to Mount X, but it was like we were in three totally different places. I know. Isn't it the most amazing thing? You were at the same mountain, but in different zones. Oliver and Cooper, you were in the montane zone at the bottom, which is about 6,000 feet high. Gabi and Brad, you were in the middle, 10,000 feet high, in the subalpine zone. And Clem, you were at the very top of the mountain, 12,000 feet high, in the alpine zone. The higher up you go, the colder it gets and the less water there is. And when there's less water and less warmth, fewer plants can grow. And with fewer plants, there's less to eat, which means fewer animals. Exactamundo! So three cheers to you, Mount X. Three places in one! Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip, hooray! Hip, hip, hooray!
