a couple of years but the truly great games will always and forever be a blast to play.

The original Mario, Castlevania, Metroid, Metal Gear Solid, are some examples of this.

And now, that super fast hedgehog has found himself back in his original game, but this

time on a new console, waiting for your download on the PS3.

In case you have been under a rock, here is a quick rundown. Dr. Robotnik, or as he is

also known as Dr. Eggman, is trying to collect all the Chaos Emeralds and control the island.

He has captured all the forest animals and is turning them into robots. It is up to Sonic,

an extremely fast blue hedgehog to rescue the animals, find the Chaos Emeralds, and

save the forest. Yeah the story is kinda wack but back in the day, video games were based

solely on gameplay and not story. A brilliant concept. And that is where Sonic truly excels.

You will run through multiple levels, each broken down into three separate acts, with

the third act ending in a fight against Robotnik himself. Sonic can move fast and jump, and

must use his skills to navigate through the tricky designed levels.

Now I’m of the belief that games should be played in their original form on their

original console, and Sonic is no different. But my beliefs don’t change the the fact

that this is a great version of the game, packed with multiple features and improvements.

For one, and most importantly, the game feels right. The jumping is responsive, and feels

identical to the Genesis version. The graphics are HD, and look absolutely amazing. And the

music has never sounded better.

But there are also trophies to unlock, which brings more reason to play, with some being

quite hard. There is also a save feature that saves anywhere, easily allowing people to

abuse it and make the game super easy. But there is one very big problem with the game,

and that is the existence of another game. You see, for only a little bit more, you can

pick up Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection, which comes with this game and so many more.

But just looking at this game alone, it carries the greatness of Sonic to the latest console

and is still just as fun to play.
