Now, there are many words containing the letter B

And sometimes, for some reason, this B is silent.

Now, let's take a few examples.

First, we have the word 'climb'.

Now there's a 'b'.

You can see it when you spell the word,

it ends with the letter 'B'.

But can you hear it?

Listen to me. 'climb'.

No, you can't. You can't hear the letter 'B'.

Because it's a silent 'B'.

Another example,

would be the word 'bomb'.

In fact, most of the time in English, when a short word ends with the letters 'mb',

the 'b' is silent.

Now another example,

Most of my students pronounce it 'debt'.

But it's a silent B, guys.

Now for longer words, again, the letter 'B'

is sometimes silent, not always.

For example, if I say the word 'plumber',

You can clearly hear the sound 'b', 'crumble'.

Another example would be the word 'subtle'.

There are so many words in English that are actually spelled with a 'd'
