字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 in the future. New technologies were great. Many, many new problem. The solution to those problems are new technologies on recently. Even now, people always hear about a new technology about how people could use the new technology as a tool for your life to going better. If Steve Jobs did not invent the smartphone, somebody else would have in the next year, I think OK, so these things were going to come no matter what I thought. We have a choice about the character of that. That's like, who regulates? Is it a commercial idea, or is it non profit? Does everybody own it or do is a few people on it? So the Internet was going to happen, But the Internet that was really open. Nobody owned. That was a choice. It didn't have to happen that way. But the thing about it is, is the people who invent in technology, they don't know what is good for, and it takes some use. I see using it to figure out what is good for easy to use, only you need to use it, so we should embrace it and to use it, and it will take some time That's what's happening with social media. Yes, social media is less than 5000 days old, which gains That's still a babies. And no, we understand some things about it. We're saying that's not good. That's good way. Have to understand we can't prohibit technologies. We can't stop them now. We can only steer them to the right jobs and we want done. And we can only do that through using them. Okay, so what we want is very fast correction. You want to be able to change the technologies. It's a week. To do that, we need to have evidence. Oh, here's the evidence. We will change it this way. What we don't want to do is have people think about how could this be go wrong? Oh, I can think of a way this will go wrong. Let's stop it. Off course. Home sales is the same as kind dated, so he's logic is it might be truth's out old life over, and it is actually at the end, maybe with data and computers kind of replace old Calgary's from you to old data. So then, if the holes of life over becoming you can connect with the data in the world. So it's like a kind of Samet Hollows. You said, you know, adjusted global, all the network off Internet of everything but his vision. It's so dark. So they finally Data's in contracts and human being itself. But the start point seems like kind of same start point. What did you think? Difference between becoming really dark scenario. I think no docks in Europe. I think in general whether you believe the future is going to be dark or light, I think has a lot to do with your understanding of the past, have we? I mean, there are some people, often very conservative, who believe that there was a golden age and everything is sort of getting worse and worse and worse and worse. I believe that actually, the past was much darker. Past dark poverty was not something that we create. Poverty is the start of everything. All humans were. I think it'll be poor, and we've only gotten richer over time. So therefore, in the future, we're likely to continue in that direction. We use technology as a kind of good way to improve alive, for it's hardly the way no mm. Delighting the temperature control, keeping out the wind, extra food that we have clothes was all because of technology. That's so we're gonna make more technology and they all had problems. But in my scenario in the future, new technologies were great. Many, many new problems, problems that we haven't had before. Problems that are more difficult than any problem we've had before will come from technology. Yeah, but the solution to those problems are new technologies. Those new technology solutions will make new problems fence. But this solution to those problems, our newer technologies and so we keep going on and on. I don't believe in Utopia here. Appearance. I don't believe in dystopia. I'm approach up because I believe in progress. Progress is just a little tiny, bit better way. Don't get rid of problems, make new problems, but that little bit better. Who is progress? That's why it's so.
