  • -Gwyneth Paltrow, thank you so much for coming on the show.

  • I miss seeing you. I miss your face.

  • How are you, bud? -I'm good. How are you?

  • Thank you so much for having me.

  • -Oh, please, please, please.

  • I want to talk to you about --

  • There's so many things I want to talk to you about.

  • But where's your head right now?

  • What is the mood right now

  • during this quarantine and this time?

  • -Well, I actually think it is probably,

  • in terms of, like, a season,

  • the most impactful,

  • most waking-up time

  • that I've ever experienced in my lifetime.

  • I feel like there's this -- an amazing reckoning happening

  • on every level.

  • And while, you know, it can feel at times very different

  • or uncomfortable, I think it's just --

  • We have an opportunity here, you know, that has --

  • Between COVID and between everything that's going on

  • with the amplification of Black Lives Matter,

  • like, we have such an incredible opportunity

  • to make big changes in the way that we live,

  • both in small ways at home with our kids, within our four walls,

  • and out in the world.

  • So, you know, if you had caught me last week,

  • I was feeling a little more overwhelmed.

  • And this week, I feel really optimistic.

  • -Good, I love hearing that.

  • -How about you?

  • -I think the same thing, too.

  • You know, the fun thing about my show

  • is I get to talk to people all day long,

  • and I'm just always learning, you know, something.

  • But the conversations have become a bit more serious

  • compared to what I'm used to.

  • And it's good. It's good for me. You know?

  • It's -- It's kind of exciting to see what we can do

  • and how we can keep the momentum going and not stop.

  • Let's start changing stuff, and it's just, I think --

  • You know, it's been good.

  • How -- How old are your kids,

  • and how are your kids?

  • Moses and Apple, I mean, I love them.

  • I haven't seen them. -Oh, my God. Look at this.

  • Look who just popped in,

  • speaking of kids. -No!

  • Are you kidding me? -Hi.

  • -Look at how big he is.

  • -Moses, how are you, buddy? You look great.

  • -I'm good, thank you. How are you?

  • -I'm great. I was just asking about you.

  • I haven't seen you in so long.

  • -That's so weird. -Yeah.

  • -How old are you?

  • -I'm 14.

  • -Gosh. -I know. It goes real fast.

  • -You were like a baby last time I saw you.

  • We were, like, wrestling around and stuff.

  • Oh, my gosh.

  • -Yeah. -You look so cool, buddy.

  • Oh, my gosh.

  • Are you dealing with everything okay?

  • Are you -- Being at home? -Yeah.

  • -Yeah? -Yeah, I mean,

  • I'm doing all that I can, trying to have some --

  • Trying to, like, stay happy by like, I don't know,

  • just finding whatever is entertaining and doing it.

  • -Are you still into music?

  • Are you still playing and singing?

  • -Yeah, I'm really into music.

  • I like to do it a lot.

  • -What instrument are you more towards now?

  • -Right now, I'd say I'm playing guitar the most.

  • -Yeah. -But it used to be piano

  • for a while.

  • And then I started doing guitar lessons again.

  • -Ah. It's so fun, right?

  • -Yeah, it's really fun. -We're going to have to jam out.

  • Maybe when this thing's over, I'll find you on the beach

  • and we'll -- -For sure. We'll be there soon.

  • -Yeah. -See you in the dunes, bud.

  • It's so good to see you. You look great, man.

  • -Good to see you, too. Thank you.

  • -Thanks for saying hi. -Oh, no problem.

  • I'll leave you guys to --

  • -Thanks. We'll see you in a minute.

  • -Bye. -Bye, bud!

  • I can't -- Dude, what timing -- How perfect was that?

  • -[ Laughing ] That was so weird.

  • -Oh, I love him. That's --

  • -He loves you, you know.

  • He's your fan both in real life and on TV.

  • So, that was very cute.

  • When I told him I was doing this today,

  • he's like, "Can I say hi?"

  • -[ Laughs ] Oh, I love it.

  • You know, it's that silver lining thing

  • where you go, I get to hang out with my kids all day long.

  • It's unbelievable.

  • I hope they don't forget this,

  • you know, 'cause they're so -- -They won't.

  • -Right? You don't think so? -No, I don't.

  • I think this will be a really indelible time in their lives

  • that they'll look back on.

  • -It's making me so --

  • Even -- I am a pretty emotional guy anyway,

  • but even this, I'm, like, seeing them grow.

  • Every single day, it's something different.

  • I'm like, "Dude, do you know what I lost?"

  • And I'm not even kidding. I'm not making this up.

  • I always liked the song "Let It Go," Idina Menzel,

  • I got it. We made a bunch of jokes about it,

  • because everyone was listening it to it.

  • I understand, but my kids weren't really into "Frozen,"

  • and then, they're into it right now.

  • -Wow. -And I love that song.

  • And I'll tell you why, because we went to --

  • I said, "Let's go get ice cream" the other day.

  • So I got on the mask, and we're getting in the car,

  • and they wanted to hear "Frozen,"

  • and they were both screaming, singing it

  • at the top of their lungs.

  • They're 5 and 6. It's so cute,

  • like, ♪ Let it go

  • and they're doing the whole thing, modulating.

  • And then I get to the ice cream place,

  • and I forgot masks for the kids.

  • -Oh, no.

  • -And I look at them, I'm like, "You guys didn't --

  • Right, why would you -- You didn't bring masks, right?

  • Alright, let's go back home. We'll go get masks.

  • Then we'll get ice cream."

  • And they justLet it go

  • you know, all the way.

  • -So that's where your full-on dad move actually paid off,

  • because you got quadruple "Frozen."

  • -Quadruple "Let It Go."

  • Windows down.

  • People were like, "That guy knows how to party."

  • [ Both laugh ]

  • Wait. So, we saw Moses.

  • Apple is --

  • Don't even tell me she's turning 16,

  • 'cause this is ridiculous. -She turned 16.

  • She's 16.

  • -No. That doesn't make any sense.

  • She's driving a car?

  • -She's driving a car.

  • -No, no, no, no, no. -She's a good driver, too.

  • She's really good.

  • -Did she have one of those cars when she was a kid,

  • those little kind of battery-powered Jeep things?

  • -Yeah. She did.

  • -Yeah, I think -- I never had that growing up, so I think --

  • And I'm an awful driver.

  • -Neither did I.

  • I think it's good for them to learn early.

  • So, I mean, I always --

  • One time, we were on a resort in a golf cart,

  • and I let her sit on my lap and steer and stuff like that.

  • So she's been illegally operating motor vehicles

  • all her life. -Yeah, that's what kids do.

  • -So, you know, she's ready to roll.

  • -Wow. So she's on the streets,

  • and she knows all the rules and everything?

  • And does she know how to park and everything?

  • -She knows everything. She's really good, really good.

  • I feel very confident about her driving.

  • -Alright, tell her I want to go for, you know, when we can.

  • I want her to take me for -- -I will. I will.

  • That's it. With the mask on.

  • She'll pick you guys up.

  • -Yeah. Exactly. -Take you out.

  • -Just do a honk, a little parade, little drive-by parade.

  • I would love to see her.

  • You know, you're doing so much great stuff,

  • and I never get a chance to tell you how great you're doing.

  • -Thank you.

  • -But I really am a fan.

  • You know that. But what you've done with Goop

  • has kind of changed everything for me.

  • I think it's brilliantly done.

  • I didn't prepare you for this, but I wanted to show you.

  • I've been getting into it, and I've been on the website.

  • I've been on Goop, and I've gotten into the product.

  • -I was wondering why you looked so handsome and glowy.

  • -Thank you. And --

  • -Are you on that Goop glow, girl?

  • [ Both laugh ]

  • -Look at how dewy I look.

  • Am I the dewiest person you've ever seen in your life?

  • -You're beautiful. Yes.

  • -Is this on your list?

  • -Yes. That's a great mask.

  • Barbara Sturm. She makes a really good product.

  • -Good. I mean, can't beat that.

  • Love that. That's the jam.

  • Then I got into face oils.

  • -Very good. -So I went on Goop.

  • Did the Vintner's Daughter?

  • -Oh, yeah, that stuff is liquid gold.

  • That's a good one.

  • -This is good stuff.

  • It's a little florally...

  • -Yeah, I hear you. -...for men.

  • -Yep.

  • -Again, these aren't commercials.

  • I'm not paid to do these things. -That's right.

  • -But then --

  • Then you Goop -- out-Gooped yourself.

  • I got this jam.

  • This is the Instant Facial?

  • -That's --

  • You got to get that glow happening.

  • Get that facial on.

  • -That's what this glow is.

  • -You look beautiful. -This is the Instant Facial.

  • I go -- And you put it on for, I think it says three --

  • I followed the directions.

  • I'm a good student, and three minutes,

  • and then you take it off, and it feels like you have new skin.

  • And I'm just doing all this -- [ Laughs ]

  • -I love what TV stardom has done to you, Jimmy.

  • -[ Laughs ]

  • Has it changed me, though?

  • -It's so good. When I first met you,

  • you would never be doing face masks and facials.

  • Look how progressive you are.

  • -[ Laughs ]

  • Thank you so much.

  • -When I met you, you barely showered.

  • -I wanted to impress you.

  • You know? I wanted to show you I was doing some homework.

  • I really was.

  • The one thing that -- You're always kind of in the news

  • one way or another on Goop,

  • and the one thing that I just saw was a big thing

  • is that you had a candle.

  • -Oh, yeah.

  • -And the name of the candle --

  • It was sold out, but the name of the candle --

  • -It's back in stock. You can buy it now if you want.

  • -I don't know if I'm --

  • Do you think I should buy it?

  • What is it called again?

  • -It's called, "This Smells Like My Vagina."

  • [ Laughs ]

  • -No need to add notes or anything.

  • That's the name of the --

  • That's the name of the candle. -Yes.

  • -And it sold out like crazy.

  • That is -- I think it's hilarious.

  • -It's pretty funny. I mean, the idea was,

  • it was sort of like a punk-rock, feminist kind of like --

  • And we have a new one which actually might be more

  • for you to give to your wife.

  • -Ooh. Drum roll.

  • -And it's called --

  • -What is it called?

  • [ Both laugh ]

  • Oh, my heavens.

  • Oh, my gosh. -And the box has fireworks.
