Rhett, the hair is getting long, bud. -Well, it's interesting -- -It's beautiful. -Because, I mean, just a couple weeks ago when this whole thing started, I was clean-shaven and had a buzz cut. [ Laughter ] It's just -- It's amazing what isolation will do for you. -Wow. Is this the longest you guys have gone without seeing each other? -Oh, man. -It's the longest -- -Probably. -I've been thinking about this. -Yeah. In like 20 years. There was a few summers during college where we spent like, you know, like, six weeks apart. And it was always a little bit awkward when we came back together, because I think we were a little self-conscious about saying like, "Hey, man. I missed you." [ Laughter ] -Yeah, yeah, exactly. How is everything with the family and the kids? Your kids are older than mine, but they're homeschooling okay? -Yeah. -Oh. -Homeschooling. [ Laughter ] -No, I wouldn't say okay. I would say -- There was a couple of days where I felt like my wife and I were kind of on top of it, but now... I hope they're teaching themselves because -- I mean, we -- I hear -- I hear them running around from time to time. I see them at meals. I assume they're educating themselves, but who knows. -Well, my 15-year-old son, we're having a hard time getting him motivated to do his work. But he comes into the room, and he's like, "Mom, Dad, I've done some research." And we're like, "Yeah, you've done some research." He said, "The school district said that they don't lower your grades from what they were when we stopped meeting in person so I'm not gonna doing any more schoolwork." [ Laughter ] Like, "Where did you get this research?" He was like, "My friends." It's like, "That's not research! Go do your schoolwork." -Smart kid, man. Smart kid. I like that guy. You guys are still continuing to do "Good Mythical Morning" on YouTube still. -Yeah, thank you, as well. I mean, yeah, you know, it's -- it's funny how doing the show from home is more work. [ Laughter ] I mean, it's a lot more work for us, right? -Yeah. -But -- And we've had to do -- Because there's two of us, we've had to do the split-screen thing, which incidentally, I mean, at this point, we kind of feel more comfortable in that split-screen format. If you wouldn't mind that we maybe could go to that now? -I could make that happen. ♪♪ -Oh. -Oh. -Nice. -Incredible. -Is that okay? -You're nestled in the middle there. Another challenge is just the fact there's always that little bit of delay, you know, because of the video chat. And it makes it difficult to have a conversation when you don't know, "Is there gonna be an awkward pause? Are you gonna start talking over each other?" Which is why we've started using the talking stick. Have you heard of this? -Yes, I have heard of this. -Yeah, well, I actually have it right here. And, you know, so, as you can see, I'm talking because I have the talking stick. Look at me talking. Look at you guys listening. Jimmy, why don't -- Why don't you give it a shot? -Thank you. -You're welcome. -Now I have the talking stick. I feel really good. [ Laughs ] -Right. -And I'm happy that you're here, and I'm thankful. Rhett, would you like to tell me maybe what room you're doing the show in or something, or something about your -- I'll pass you the talking stick. -Oh, thanks, man. Yeah. -Ooh, yeah. -I'm doing the show from my living room, which I thought was a good choice, initially. I think the kids were like, "Oh, dad's doing the show from home! This is cool!" And now the kids are like, "Dad's doing the show from home. This is cool." You know? -It's all -- all the magic is kind of -- like, "Yeah, we're good." -Right. Well, and the cool thing about the talking stick, as well, I know we're all kind of starving for some physical connection that you don't really get to do on a video conference. But we found another little thing you can do is, if you just want to reach out and touch someone, as you can see, Jimmy, I can... -Yep. -...just -- sort of just -- -Interdimensional talking stick. -Yeah, yeah, yeah. How's that feel? How's that feel? -Let me have the -- -I feel so close to you. -Let me have the stick so I can give it back to Link. -Oh, yeah. Here. Yeah. -Thank you. -Ooh! [ Laughter ] -Oh...wow. -I'm sorry. Something got lost in translation. -That is -- that is quite a colorful stick. Is that a yarn? -[ Laughs ] Oh, and then, it got boring again. [ Laughter ] -Oh, wow. -What happened to all the yarn on my talking stick? -You don't have enough bandwidth, Link. You need to upgrade to a fiber connection. [ Laughter ] -This is a new feeling, being disappointed -- -This is what it is when you're actually quarantined and your wife is very crafty. She will put yarn all over a stick. The last couple days, she's been doing this. -Oh, wow. You got two! -Oh, wow. -Those are some big, colorful talking sticks. -Yeah. Oh -- and we don't -- And we don't talk any more, either. [ Laughter ] We like to talk to our guests about different charities they're working with. And something you're doing is called the Leftover Challenge. Can you explain to everyone what that is so we can all do it? -Yeah, this is something that was spearheaded by the chef for our show, mythical chef Josh and some other Internet chefs. They collaborated to create the Leftovers Challenge. The idea is that -- You know, a lot of restaurants are having a really hard time right now. And so this is drawing attention to the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation. The idea is that you order more takeout from a restaurant than you need, and then you make a creative meal with it the next day. -Yeah, and then you take a picture of that, and you post it online using #leftoverschallenge, and that benefits the Restaurant Workers Community Foundation. You can also support -- Oh, yeah. That's a nice sign. -You can support them directly by donating at restaurantworkerscf.org. -Yes. -That's super cool that you guys are doing that. You're always being creative and innovative, even when it's not times like these. So, to see you in these times just doing so many different things and fun things, I truly, on behalf of your fans, say we love it, and keep doing it. Thank you so much. I was thinking -- -Right back at you, man. -If you don't mind, I'd like to maybe do a virtual group hug, if that's possible. -Oh, yeah. A group hug would be great. -It's definitely possible. -Yeah, yeah. -You just...lean on forward and spread the wings and... -Yep. Get on in here, guys. -Oh, wow. -Yeah. -Okay. -Yeah, a little pat, little pat. -Nice ring, Jimmy. [ Laughter ] -Thank you. I'm kind of a jewelry dude. -Thank you, Jimmy. -I'm into that stuff. Thank you. I'm very -- I love you guys. And be safe, and hugs to the family, okay? And hopefully we get to hug each other in real life, as well. -Yes, absolutely. Thanks, man. -Can't wait to see you soon. -Thanks, man. -Thanks guys. -Stay sane.
