Unfortunately, this is not one of their better ones.

It's the gird a model Chaos Ws 70 padlock.

It's 70 millimeters wide has a 12 millimeter hardened steel shackle and a disc detainer core.

But there's a few things strange with this lock.

The 1st 1 is the lock body material.

The girder website says the lock body is made of nickel plated brass, but I don't think that's the case.

This lock body is mildly magnetic, and when I scrape the nickel coating from the inside of the shackle hole, the metal underneath was silver colored.

The other disappointing part of the lock was the core I've encountered gird a disc detainer course in the past, and the one they put in their HSS padlocks is quite good.

But this is a far cry from that.

In fact, it's what you would expect to find in a cheap Chinese lock, And that's likely what we have here.

A cheap branded product, not one actually made by Ghirga.

So let's see what it takes to pick this open.

Yeah, the first thing we're going to do is rotate all of the disks is far clockwise as they will go, and then I'm going to insert this disc detainer.

Pick that Bosnian bill and I made.

Okay, we've picked up disc number one, so let's find number two and start picking.

Nothing on two three is loose.

Four is loose.

Five is loose.

Six is binding.

Here we go.

Got nice click out of six.

Seven feels set, and so does eight.

It's our work our way back up.

Okay, Think we're on five now.

Click out of five four.

Feel set.

Click out of three.

Think three set to his binding.

Gotta click out of him.

And we opened this up so not too hard a pick.

It seems that poor tolerance has made the binding discs very obvious.

And there were no false gates.

So all told, a very basic disc detainer core.
