Yay snow! Except I've been cooped up for two days, and I'm ready to get out and do some
stuff, anything I don't really care, but I figure I may as well go thrifting, so let's go thrifting.
Shut up dog. I'm not bothering you.
The first snow-covered Goodwill and my lucky rock out front has been covered up by the stuff
So I guess I won't be giving it any offerings today
But hopefully that's alright with the rock. As soon as I'm inside, I see a couple of apple computers here, an early Mac
Pro always kind of wanted one of these or a G5
I just like the way they look and an iMac here
which looks like one of the first gen intel Core Duo
Systems at least according to these specs they have listed on the back and has a bad display though
And it's missing peripherals and stuff 50 bucks
$200 for this old Mac
Pro though you can get one of these with more stuff with it for
$150
$100 or less on eBay?
Nobody's being fooled by this I've been back to the store several times for shooting this footage
And this thing is still just sitting there a month later. Down below though
I did find something much more of interest to me, and that was this old keyboard
I always look out for any keyboard without Windows keys, and this is an old Packard Bell board and actually looking on the back
It's even older than I though. AT
only. This has one of those big 'ol DIN connectors on the back. Awesome. Definitely buying this. They also had a couple of these little
Dell computers
You know something like this for 10 bucks actually was kind of tempting because you know it seems like it'd be a fun project
Just need to add RAM and a hard disk and you know operating system. That's easy enough really. Well
yeah, it's a small little compact thing, and I guess somebody else thought the same thing
so I went back the next day. They were gone
Over in the shelves. I ran across this little thing well, you know I saw a piano keys
I'm like what the heck is this well this right? Here is a magnus chord organ
I don't know much about it
But you know it looks pretty nifty to me and had that feeling to it it almost felt like bakelite
I'm not entirely sure if that's what it was 50 bucks though, and
I'm sure someone's going to enjoy this. Over into VHS tapes, and I saw these
It's like wrapped up with a cross on front
Yeah, I don't know why but for some reason
I just I found this bizarre and somehow amusing and it's just like wow these have to be kept together
so much that we're going to duct tape across to it. Over in a glass case I saw this really cool looking Pyramid
amplifier, it looks like it's a rack mounted thing. I love those VU meters.
There's a sony disc changer of some kind down there, and then here was a dual
turntable
$99 is actually kind of tempting for one of these assuming it worked
There's no telling if it does and yeah
I just don't have time to mess with one right now. Over near electronics
And this little blue guy got my attention real quick
This is a little Panasonic portable cassette deck thing and had a Paul Hardcastle cassette in there
already and I'll put that right back, and yeah, it's just the whole package outer shell design had my attention look at it
It's blue. I mean it's blue. Blue electronics. I like those I approve of its existence. Up on the top shelf here
I saw woodgrain and it had a plug
This is electric woodgrain. Sounds like a 1976 prog Rock band the electric woodgrain anyway now. This is like a
Dish warmer kind of thing, platter warmer
I don't know. I I don't care but wood grain right and then look at this beast holy nuts
So this is a model 6x6 opaque projector by sea right what a cool look this thing had I mean
This is like one of those things that if you dropped it a couple feet. It'd probably be a megaton explosion
I mean, this is just
It's a monster
I just like the way it looks, and as I was about to leave I happen to notice this little Teac down here and
this is a graphic equalizer, a GE 20 model.
Lovely switches lovely knobs actually it's missing one knob, but you know it just the aesthetic of this is awesome
I've kind of wanted a graphic equalizer like this. The price is a little more than I would expect to pay at Goodwill, 80 dollars
but you know
what screw it, they go for more than that online. I'm going to get it. Alright got another snowy goodwill here
You know I mean covered in snow just really makes me happy. And over in the media section
I saw a Super Nintendo game. We've got Pitfall Mayan Adventure. Just loose cartridge. Don't need it. I already have it
There was a Fisherman's Bass Club game for the PS2. I don't care and
some World Championship Paintball. I don't care.
Over the CDs, I noticed something quite familiar.
Hey, look, it's Hurl for MS-DOS. One of the earliest PC games that I actually covered on LGR many years ago. This is quite
the experience indeed. Down below there there was a stack of Playstation 1 games
I saw an employee just plopped down before I got in here some Pro Pinball stuff here
so those aged text like generic sports games
And so you know some other cool things in here that I don't have actually, All-Star Slammin' D-Ball
and I with some stuff right so
I've actually went through here and picked up several and I'll show you what I got the end of the video, so
It's first in this stack
I saw Battlefield 2 but then I saw everything else around it and what it's all L. Ron Hubbard Scientology
Like speeches and like panels, there's just a ton of them. Why are there so many?
Then again, why Scientology. Just leave it there. Hey, you need some some grass in a box, some fake
grass in a box goodwill has some fake grass in a box if you need it
There's two of them. Wow a lot of VHS tapes and hey a couple Sega Genesis games
I love when I find these mixed in with VHS's. Ms. Pac-man here
I actually did not have this, this is the Tengen game, and I have Thunderforce II didn't have this either
And it's all in there. Which is awesome in good
shape. Definitely grabbing these for a couple bucks each. Getting over near the electronics, and he it's a little flippy number clock.
Yes, I love flip clocks. Just the look of them the feel of them the sound of them the little
Sound that you get in the field through the knob off these are great
I'm not going to get this one, but I like them
I also like to look at this too, little record player down here a couple speakers to go along with it. The brand
I'm not really familiar with, Lloyd's
Pretty spiffy looking piece of old tech though gotta say I quite like that.
You know I like it when you can see the turntable elevated on top of a block of wood
like that though and these little knobs yeah, I mean it smelled like smoke or whatever but
Decent little knobs. I'm sure someone's going to enjoy this turntable if they grab it. They also had this Polaroid
Autofocus
600 land camera here. Yes this is a classic, Polaroid I
Would have picked this up for my brother, but I'm sure, I know he has one.
He's got to have one but yeah, I mean five bucks. You. don't go to urban outfitters and wherever
Goodwill, man I find Polaroids quite often. I just like the look of this one. Down below that hey check out
This is car phone I guess or a shoulder phone. I don't know just playing [jock] is a zero and there's like a shoulder phone
mission in there, but anyway, that's pretty neat don't see these very often. Oh my check out this toaster that mixture of the
everything going on, that's an aesthetic I could go for if I needed a toaster. Alright got another
snowy Goodwill not too far away from the last one then as soon as I'm inside I noticed Diablo
just sitting down right there, the game of the year like re-released sort of thing
It's like a cheaper box than the original release you can see it was originally sold for like 20 dollars and yeah
I just don't I don't need this, I had the very first edition box. It's much better. Still though three bucks
it's gonna make someone happy. Hey
what is this organ thing, more importantly, what is this little tape recorder that
is interesting and not only is it looking cool,
but it's hooked up to the bottom of the organ there, all these little dangly bits hanging out
I just really like this tape player those Bell & Howell
Nice buttons lovely woodgrain. A couple of recliners over here, and I saw this message on there, please
do not disturb meditation inprocess until 11:00 a.m.. I guess these are meditative recliners man. Don't bother them.
I'm just going to walk away. Oh man
Look at this lonely little kitchen scale. Not only does it have the faux wood going on
But it's just got a really cool little you know sensitive
wheel going in the middle there. Much more interesting than those boring digital ones we have today if you ask me. Over in the diagonal
pillows, I found a sidewinder precision too, and I'm like okay, but wait a second
It's like new in the box like seriously still wrapped up in the plastic everything's in there. That is pretty neat not a joystick
I'm really interested in though for 12 bucks
I guess that's not a bad price, but yeah
it was a little too modern for my taste. Well alright got another snowy Goodwill, waltz right inside and got this snow.
Right inside on this shelf here. I saw these
Panasonic, there's a DVD/CD player and a receiver
But with this mirror finishing aesthetic it really reminds me of the Panasonic Q, the Gamecube thingy that that was a Japanese
exclusive, and it looks really similar to this I've actually got one
It doesn't work, but yeah seeing these two made me wonder if this is like in the same series or something
But just maybe over here in the US. I don't know. Over near the pants there was a couple of baskets of
Mainly Xbox sports games that's interesting a couple other things tossed in here too, some PS2 stuff
But I mean like mostly sports games
I did however find one title in all of all of these that I was somewhat interested in that's Rally Sport Challenge
I mostly missed out on Xbox exclusives back in the day. Hey now, this is something
I wish my barber would use, it's a wood grain clad
electric Clippers, I mean that is just
Man, my aesthetic. Hey, what is this a trapper Keeper? Yes? It is. Oh Man. This is weird
I was just tweeting about this the day before I found this particular, holy crap
This is the sleeve that I, that future city one right there
That's the one I was even tweeting about. Had one of these back in the day
And I really liked getting those little folders and sleeves and stuff for them that weird 90s 3D art man
Well looks like they got a copy a turbo cad designer 2D/3D 9.1
Something that I don't care about so I'm putting it back
Dude, this book is lit. Que uproarious laughter all right one more goodwill
I haven't been to this one in a long time, I just felt like it. in the glass case here some
Tolkien something or other that was intriguing and yeah, it's the lord of the rings trilogy. I'm not sure what edition
This is but I mean it looked neat speaking of look at me. I always liked these things, these word processors with the floppy drives.
I used to have a brother word processor. It wasn't as advanced as this one though
Over in the puzzles and board games got a check and saw something here, and yeah
it's just some a home design software and some that I'm not necessarily interested in although this did come with 100 free hours of AOL and
There's other one. Just looks cheap now. That is a pretty neat looking turntable
I don't know why I'm finding some cool turntable today, but I am this magnavox here
And it's got a nice little receiver down below it as well
Lovely switches, lovely knobs or at least there used to be a knob there for the radio, but yeah, man
Something about these I can just look at them forever, and then just over here. I happen to run [across] this apple
Studio monitor, not sure if it's the 17 inch or the 20 inch or whatever but 25 bucks
I mean, if it works is [not] a bad deal I guess, just not my kind of thing
This is my kind of thing. This is an old RCA [a] tape recorder a reel-to-reel
And it's very simple in terms of features and whatnot but man it just has a look to it [that] [I] really quite like
Just something about the molding of the plastic the old RCA logo, that red button
I just kind of like it all. Over to the left over here is this little speaker by the voice of music
And that's something that oh crap. I do will almost drop the plastic on the reel-to-reel over there anyway
Yeah, this little box speaker
It looks like it [probably] went to some sort of larger device, perhaps a reel-to-reel or record play or something like that
I know hey look there's another little polaroid pronto land camera. What a nifty little design
Just as I was about to leave the stumble across this thing [norelco]. Well, that's I thought
It was maybe a razor, but then I saw these buttons and audio things and what is this turns out?
It is a little tiny audio cassette recorder at I guess for like dictation and this man. That's super cool
Even if it doesn't work such a compact little design it feels very satisfying to hold
And that is all for this episode of LGR thrifts got a teac graphic equalizer old packard [bell]
keyboard that little norelco tape recorder some video games [Playstation] [1] [Xbox] sega Genesis
Yeah, not a bad little haul for being the middle of winter when there's normally not a lot going [on]
but yeah, it pays to keep looking even in the snow [and]
Yes, you guys are keeping on looking too, it seems as you keep sending me more finds of yours
Thank you very much for doing so as it makes me proud and yet envious. You found some insanely cool stuff this time around
So keep those coming
and there's going to be of course more LGR thrifts in the future as I can make them and get enough content to do so
And all that stuff, so yes, thank you very much for watching this episode of LGR.
