Now I ran into a small problem while picking it, which led to an interesting discovery that we're going to talk about now. Unlike the Apelike Classic, which tensions from the far back disk or the really old apelike classics and most copies which tension from the back and front desks, this one tensions from the front disc on Lee. What that means is that my dedicated Abloy classic pick will not work on this lock. However, I couldn't let a little lock like this defeat me, so I gave it some thought and decided to try something that I've always known. It's theoretically possible, but never actually did. We're going to open this up using normal pin tumbler tools. It's actually not as hard as I thought it would be. The first thing we need to do is rotate all of the disks as far clockwise as they will go, but I'm going to get this tension tool and try to pick up just that first disc. I think I have that where I want it. And I'm going to use this hook, which has a nice steep rake to rotate each of the discs. There's only six of them will start in the back. Number six is binding. Gotta click out of six. Five is binding. Five must be set pretty deep. But I think I got him nothing on four three to gotta click out of him. And this is open. So that wasn't nearly as easy as using a dedicated disc detainer pick. But it wasn't particularly hard either. It actually makes me want to do some experimenting with these techniques on other locks as well. In any case, that's all I have for you today.
