  • This is the lock picking lawyer, and what I have for you today is an exceptionally bad bike lock from the Australian company Na Ge.

  • The straitjacket fatty.

  • It's called fatty to denote the eight millimetre chain links and to differentiate it from the so called skinny version with six millimeter links.

  • But regardless of the chain, knock has chosen to use a very low quality padlock.

  • And I'm not just talking about the plastic shackle guard.

  • So today I'm going to show you five different ways to open this up, two of which take advantage of fairly egregious design flaws will start with the hardest method and finish up with the easiest.

  • So let's get started with a single penny picking.

  • We have a fairly open key way here, so I will use a 50 thousands thick pry bar in a standard hook in 25 thousands.

  • One, 234 five.

  • And it doesn't get much easier than that when it comes to single pin picking.

  • Okay.

  • Second, we're going to take advantage of a fairly rare design flaw, the absence of alleged around the face of the core that allows us to shame the core from the front of the lock, but I'm going to do is put a thin shim of meadow between the core and the lock body.

  • Then get a pic without using a tension wrench and just lift the pins one by one until the shim advances into the lock.

  • Once we have it all the way in, I can take anything like a screwdriver or attention tool and turn the core.

  • Third, we're going to try to rake the lock.

  • Let's get our tension tool back in here, and I'm going to be using this wave rake.

  • That was fairly quick.

  • Fourth, we're going to try a new toy of mine.

  • This is the multi pick Kronos Electric pick gun, and I found it opens a lot of locks very quickly.

  • So let's get some tension back in this core and let's see what the Kronos does with this theory.

  • Go couple of bursts and we opened it up, and finally, the fastest open method.

  • We're going to take advantage of another design flaw with this, and that is that the pin chambers are too long.

  • That means we can use a tool like this to lift all of the key and driver pins above the sheer line, after which the core will turn freely.

  • We just insert this like a key, and once it's in position, lift up the pins and turn.

  • Let's do that one more time.

  • That's how fast it ISS.

  • So you should be getting the general idea that I am not a fan of this lock, and it's probably one that you ought to avoid.

  • In any case, that's all I have for you today.

  • If you do it any questions or comments about this, please put them below.

  • Thank you.
