It's something that I purchased pre owned for my own use, but it came without a key. I do have a set of keys and some disks that I could drop in, but I need to get this open first. It has an absolute classic core, which is one of the trickier, pure disc detainer locks. It has 10 discs, plus a gated spinner upfront. Each of those disks has false gates. And then there is that offset D shaped key way. There should also be a least a couple of Abu's anti pick discs in there. I'm going to be using this tool that I made a couple months ago just for these D shaped key ways. It's essentially a copy of Matt Smith's design. He's also known as Huxley Pig. But before I get started, there's one thing that I should address. I'm going to pick this in a vice. I generally don't pick padlocks and vices because it's not terribly realistic. However, when using this rear tensioning tool, it's near impossible to hold the lock and operate the tool at the same time. So too sad my conscience and satisfy my need for real world solutions. We're just going to pretend that this vice is a friend holding the lock for me. Okay. Okay. Okay. We've got that secure in there. Let me give you as good an angle as I can. Okay? And the first thing we need to do is rotate all of those disks as far clockwise as they will go. Now that that's done, we can insert this pick, and I'm going to start picking in the back. I usually start in the front, but I also normally start. I'm sorry. I normally tension from the front. It's usually a good idea to start picking. Where you tension. Okay, so I'm tensioning off of 10. I just got a little click out of nine. Eight. Seems loose. I'm just trying to get everything into a gate right now. Seven feels loose. Nice click out of six. After a fair bit of travel. Nothing on five for nice. Click on three, click out of two and fair bit of movement on that core. Nothing on one or the spinner. Let's go back to the back of the lock. Okay. Number nine feel set. So does eight. At least they're in a gate. So to seven. Six feel set. So does five for three. This is strange. Pretty much everything. Feels like it's It's a little bit loose. Here's number one. Okay. Got a little click out of one. Let's check to make sure that spinner is not blocking us. And no, the spinner is doing well. Okay. One click out of two in a fair bit of movement. There. Three fields set four. Feel set. Five, six, seven. Hey. Hi. I'm not sure what's holding us up right now. Everything feels pretty loose with Spinner is binding. Okay. Got a little click out of the spinner. We should be pretty close now. Nothing on one to feel set the ray. Okay. Got a couple clicks out of three for Okay, I got some turn and we opened up. Okay, let's take this apart, and I will show you what's inside of here. Okay. We will need to Mmm. I think I'm going to have to take this apart with the tool in there because I would have to locket to get the tool out. And these at boys are key retaining. This is something new for May. I don't think I've ever taken one of these apart with the tool now to take this apart. What I did was I removed this set screw through this whole. Normally, that whole would be blocked by the end of the shackle. So that's not something you can normally d'oh! And let me see if I can pull this whole apparatus out at once, Okay? Okay. Now, I should be able to take this tool out. Okay? I dropped the sidebar right here. And then I'm gonna just start laying these disks out right in this area. The first is the spinner. You can see there's a gate in that spinner and we have a spacer, and we have a disc with two true gates in it. So this is master keyed. That's interesting. Spacer another disk with two true gates in it. Well, I'm certainly glad I am. I'm re keenness and other two gates in this one Looks like all of them so far have to gates and I have not seen any any of ab alloys. Anti picked desks. Okay, this one only has one gate. And because of that, we also have a false skate in it. This one has to gates in it. Space, sir. Here is one of ab alloys, anti pick disks. You can see that little notch out of side there that prevents the more common Chinese tool that's used to open these d shaped key ways that will not even engage that disk, Okay, Looks like mostly the ones up front where the master key discs. So we have 12345 disks that air master keyed and 12345 that are not master keyed and have the false gates in them. So that's a little bit of a disappointment, but I guess it doesn't matter, because I am going to be replacing all of those in just a minute. But that's all I have for you today.
