字幕列表 影片播放 列印英文字幕 The metallic liquid before your eyes is known as Ferrofluid. Ferrofluid is a magnetic oil that is attracted to strong magnets. At this exhibit, when we turn the crank, we move the magnets and it causes the Ferrofluid to change shape. Ferrofluid is made of tiny specks of iron oxide, oil, and surfactant. The surfactant is a soapy film used to bind the oil and iron oxide. Without it, the magnets will pull the iron oxide out of the oil. So when we move the magnets a combination of magnetism, gravity, and surface tension, creates the marvelous shapes of the Ferrofluid. Ferrofluid is more than beauty, it has applications in aerospace, automotive and electronics. My name is Maria, thanks for watching our video about Ferrofluid.
