A whole bunch of you requested that I feature.

It's the master lock model 37 shrouded padlock.

Essentially, it's the same thing as the master lock number three.

But for this strange looking shackle, the shackle is a combination of steel and zinc alloy castings, and I believe the idea is to prevent bolt cutter access to this thin portion of the shackle.

The most common place that I see these is securing the latch of a trailer coupler, but only fits most couplers if you first remove this shackle sleeve.

Unfortunately, even though this appears to offer increased security, thes locks provide very little resistance against picking even low skill attacks like raking.

So let's see what it takes to get into this, going to put some bottom of the key way tension in here with a wiper insert.

We're gonna use this wave rake, and just that fast, we got it open.

Let's see if we can single pin pick it quickly as well.

Using this standard hook in 25 thousands 12 click out of three Nothing on 41 click out of 23 Little click on four klick out of one.

And as you can see, it can be single pin picked quickly as well.

So this probably isn't something you're going to want to rely on for anything beyond, like deterrence.
